Tumblr and Ao3 are getting MARRIED! Let’s see who’s who at the wedding party.

Fanfiction.net - Maid of Honor. Ao3’s older sibling.

Wattpad - Bridesmaid, Ao3’s little sister.

Pinterest - Wedding Planner and Best Man, Tumblr’s friend. Tumblr sees Pinterest as a little brother.

4Chan - Wedding Guest, one of Tumblr’s many exes. However, following the recent hack, Tumblr and 4Chan made up somewhat and are on good enough terms.

Reddit - Wedding Guest, Tumblr’s uncle

Spotify - Groomsman, tumblr’s best friend from college. Also friends with Ao3, they met at a convention.

Instagram, Snapchat, Discord - Wedding Guests, all Tumblr’s friends and family.

DeviantArt - Wedding Guest, Ao3’s best friend. Definitely godmother to Ao3’s kids if they have any.

Webtoons, Internet Archive, Quora - Wedding Guests, all Ao3’s friends and family

Twitter/X - Not Actually Invited, crashed the party anyway after their messy breakup with Tumblr.

Where do you think fanfic.net comes in your human websites? Like are they an overworked boss or are they just the old ass grandparent of the group?

Fanfiction.net is one of the oldest websites, up there with Internet Archive. They're a bit more... Particular about what fics they add to their collection (they don't allow RPF for example), but they've still got a LOT of fic on their shelves. They're kinda like a... older, more traditional librarian.

Before AO3 was around, companies would sue, take down fics, and generally cause problems for fan sites. FF.net has gone through the trenches when it came to the fight for fandom, and still use the coping mechanisms they learned in those days.

AO3 and FF.net are kinda related? (Not really cause they're websites) For the purposes of this series, that's why they look similar. FF.net can be thought of as AO3's parental figure, even in the annoying ways. They have a far simpler way of doing things, and say AO3 has become too complicated.
