Darren Criss, best known as Blaine Anderson on “Glee,” will launch the national tour of “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” in San Francisco.Criss, a San Francisco native who studied at the American Conservatory Theater, who played the role for 12 weeks on Broadway, steps into the perilously high heels previously worn by Neil Patrick Harris and Taye Diggs in this Tony-winning revival.“When I found out that the tour would be kicking off in my hometown of San Francisco,” Criss noted in a release, “the city where I was introduced to ‘Hedwig and The Angry Inch’ – I could think of no better excuse to get back into the heels of a character I loved and missed so very much.”
