we’ll all float on (even if things get heavy)
I’m lateish but this was written for @lordzarcock for the @klancepoetryexchange. The poem I based it on is The Last Mile by Noah St. John. It’s pretty loosely followed but hopefully that’s alright. This ended up almost 19k because I’m kinda extra I am deeply sorry so here’s the AO3 link.
Summary: Keith and Lance live contently on the beach, surviving mostly by their respective street performing acts. They’ve been dating for two years now and neither see it ending any time soon– until Keith does. Lance has been more distant lately and been disappearing when he’d usually come down to the boardwalk with Keith, and it seems that their arguments only seem to be getting worse every day. Is this just another rough patch of their relationship, or is it the end? Because now Keith isn’t so sure.
WC: too long 18.9k
Here is my (very late) @klancepoetryexchange piece for @looksredtastesblue!!
It is based on the poem I Wanna Be Yours by John Cooper Clarke.
My thought with this was that Lance is daydreaming and that the second image is what he sees in his mind.
Individual images below! They’re higher quality too.

The Naming Of Cats
The Naming of Cats is a difficult matter, It isn’t just one of your holiday games; You may think at first I’m as mad as a hatter When I tell you, a cat must have three different names.
In which Lance finds certain ideas of his boyfriend strange but indulges him anyway.
My gift for @asingularblueberry at @klancepoetryexchange ! I hope you like it!!!
When to Give (More)
A day late but!!!! Here with my piece for the @klancepoetryexchange, I have a fic inspired by A Question by Robert Frost, for @kittymeow321. It’s been a pleasure creating for this event, and I hope you enjoy!
A voice said, Look me in the stars
And tell me truly, men of earth,
If all the soul-and-body scars
Were not too much to pay for birth.
tw: heavy mention of self sacrifice and near death experiences
Lance and Keith have a nasty little habit of throwing themselves in harm’s way. They have a habit of gritting their eyes and shoving a teammate away to take the blow meant for them, and as those wounds have come to turn stretches of skin into leathery scars, they smile anyway because their team is safe.

SO! Just a few things to address in this fic!!! i found out how bad i am at writing angst! so this fic feels very blunt, stilted, and… like poetic bullshit lmao. this is Not my best piece to date but i’m glad i got the chance to try something new. enjoy ! (?)
I Do Not Love You Except Because I Love You
Summary: The closer Keith gets to Lance the more in denial he is about his feelings. Rating: T Ship: Klance Warnings: None Can be read here.
This was written for the @klancepoetryexchange based off of the poem “I Do Not Love You Except Because I Love You” by Pablo Neruda. @irani-owl I hope you enjoy it!
I’m a day late for posting for the @klancepoetryexchange but my excuse is that I’ve been hella sick recently. So, @lunchmoney-lance , here’s your poem:
I am the sea and I’m eternally
Alone, because the fish, they all hate me.
Each night I lie and I wish that the stars
In the sky could see me and heal my scars.
But the stars do not come to visit me.
There’s great distance between the stars and sea.
Save for the lone star with the sanguine eyes,
Whose hair is raven like his lonely home.
He falls into a land of fires for me
And his kisses are softer than the breeze.
Each morning he drags himself to the skies,
Back into the ancient unknown he flies.
Yet I know when the sun sets he’ll return
For he leaves me small a piece of his home.
He leaves me his heart in the shape of knives
And he tells me to carry his heart well,
For it means he can find me in the dark-
Even the stars get lonely as well.
I crave the touch of his shimmering hands.
They remind me that everyone is loved.
And even Father Time’s eternal sands
Cannot stop the love my sanguine star has.
Teach me your mood, o patient stars!
Who climb each night the ancient sky
Leaving on space no shade, no scars
No trace of age, no fear to die.
This week is midterms for me so please give me a few days to sort through everything, get all the gifts reblogged and send out emails to pinch hits. If you were granted an extension or were originally a pinch hitter, you’ll have until October 27th to post. Besides, that it’s a wrap! Thank you for participating in this exchange everybody.

1.4k, Klance, T-rating, for @klancepoetryexchange and @klanstability
Summary: Lance thrives off the chaos and neon lights and familiarity, but sometimes he prefers a quiet, ashy-heat stillness. During off hours, he meets Keith – a nobody like him, beautiful and a little weird.
His face.
Looking at him now, after years of their first encounter everything seemed to have changed…
His smile.
It was almost as if that little, grumpy kid who once joined the Galaxy Garrison, the best pilot of his generation with the temper of a wet cat was a completely different person, yet Keith remained to be the same. Courageous, passionate, brave Keith. Caring and loving to his family…
His eyes.
Every time Lance looked into those eyes his breath was taken away. They held so many emotions, stories and things Lance knew he would never understand completely, but he wanted to discover them so much.
His scars.
Adorning his face, neck and clavicles… He was sure those weren’t the only ones. It made him wonder, sometimes, how it would be to run his fingers along the marks, to treat them and kiss them…
Lance let out a sigh, his eyes never leaving the other male who was too preoccupied talking to the MFE pilots, about what? Lance didn’t know.
He smiled.
Looking at him now, after years of their first encounter there was still the same thought stuck in his mind.
