Gustaf GrĂŒndgens, Erika Mann, Pamela Wedekind, and Klaus Mann, 1925.
At the time of this photo, Erika was engaged to Gustaf but was having an affair with Pamela, who was engaged to marry Klaus, who was romantically involved with Gustaf.
I donât want Sherlock to reconcile with his dad. Every time a character with daddy issues has a dad who shows up they reconcile for some stupid reason about how they really werenât so bad, and every time Iâm upset about it and pleeeeeeease for the love of God I donât want that to happen to my beloved Sherlock. Itâs not realistic that the issues disappear just because the jackass decides to show up.
I totally agree!
My senses are unusually âwell, one could even say unnaturallyâ keen. And ours is an era of distraction. Itâs a punishing drumbeat of constant input. This-this cacophony which follows us into our homes and into our beds and seeps into our into our souls, for want of a better word. For a long time there was only one poultice for my raw nerve endings, and that was copious drug use. So in my less productive moments, Iâm given to wonder if Iâd just been born when it was a little quieter out there, would I have even become an addict in the first place? Might I have been more focused? A more fully realized person? [What, like Ancient Greece?] You any idea what passed for dental care in the Hellenic era? No, no, Iâd, um, Iâd want some of the wonders of modernity. Just before everything got amplified.
Sherlock Holmes, Elementary. Describing very well what it is like to be an autistic addict. (via sephalopods)
whoever wrote this, s/he is a genius
Klaus Mann, Der fromme Tanz
A quote out of my favourite book, for which I sadly donât have any translation at all. Itâs about Andreas looking at a foto of Niels. The quote describes how love can be felt and seen in a fotography or in a voice and pictures Andreasâ positive opinion towards his love, which he sees as something given by God, despite the things people say.

"I am not going to continue these notes.
I do not wish to survive this year."
Klaus Mann, diary on 1. January 1949. Klaus Mann commited suicide this year - on 21. May, 1949Â
