Wanna Read the fic? It is called "You are my Sunshine" (on AO3, check tags)
Do bare with me. The first chapters are a bit rough, I haven`t written anything in 13 or so years. BUT chapter 12 is dropping this weekend finally after the hiatus and writing on the Halloween fic. It also has A LOT of words and acts per chapter and is kinda slow burn.
Wanna read just this scene? Go ahead:
The lights of the club were the only vibrant thing in the isolated alley. Quite a lot of people have entered already, room filling up and getting more crowded than anyone expected. It smelt of alcohol, cigarettes and sweat or heavy perfumes. The blonde teen has quite enjoyed this mix as long as there wasn’t gonna be any vomit. He looked into the mirror of a car, fixing up his appearance one last time before entering the off-town Bar. His steps were heavy, dramatic and yet elegant and confident as he shot a few grins at the ladies, fixing his leather jacket which effortlessly framed the half opened dark red shirt. This man seemed to turn near everyone’s head but he had no interest in actually picking anyone up or even just to flirt or talk. It was a shitty week and he just wanted to drink and listen to hopefully good music. Because if they weren’t good enough for his ears, Billy sure knew he was going to make them feel it. Feel how terrible he felt.
Slowly the bar was filling up with people, only 5 more minutes left as Eddie took a deep breath and decided to drown nearly an entire water bottle. His brown large eyes slowly darted to his friends which smiled at him wide, giving a thumbs up. They were clearly just as nervous but knew Eddie was the glue to keep it all together. He sighed in relief and facial features started to relax. One last time he checked himself out in the mirror, making sure every strand of dark hair was where it’s supposed to messily and loosely sit, the rings were fully displayed, the clothes in right angles and place, the fingernails neat and no black paint scraped. Here it was, the big moment they have been working towards all year. Eddie shook his body one last time before heading onto the stage, soft lights highlighting his jewelry and slim figure. There was only a moment of insecurity in his gaze as it wanders over the filled bar before a large smile appeared on his face. After a deep breath, and an encouraging nudge from Jeff, their frontman gripped the microphone and started introducing themselves, loud, energetic, powerful. “Welcome all beautiful ladies and handsome gents! It is an honor for us, corroded Coffin, to play on this very stage tonight” it seemed almost like all the worry and anxiety was Burried deep enough to give a clear and fake-confident speech.
Billy’s eyes felt like a shark scanning the area, looking for its target. Once found, he fixed it and made his eyes linger for a long time. The guitarist was speaking into the mic for far too long, mentioning his first time of applying and rambling on about silly things nobody cares about until they’re world wide known. The annoyed blonde teen sat down by the counter , leaning back against the countertop with his elbow while the other hand swayed the alcohol. If there was one thing he couldn’t stand it was useless rambling. “Cut this bullshit and give us a fucking show” he yelled across the bar and it gathered everyone’s attention, including Eddie which simply stares wide eyed at Billy. Of course the band knew who he was. The new shiny kid everyone talked about in school. Everyone had heard of his attitude when he wasn’t flirting or trying to get something. Eddie felt the jab in his stomach as these analyzing blue eyes appeared to pierce through him, crumbling all the confidence at once. However, he just laughed and shook his head. With a big gesture he stretched his hand out, bowing just a little “You’ve heard it! Enjoy the show of Corroded Coffin, may it be an unforgettable evening” he said at last before it finally quiet down and the band gripped their instruments. Billy’s cocky smile widened, noticing how much anxiety that man had. Though he could admire the confidence to be on that stage. He hadn’t really known about the dark haired man, nor his friends as Billy never spent lunch breaks in the cafeteria. It was mainly outside by his car listening to music or smoking with some other jocks or preppy girls. On occasion he tried to charm the teachers for some grade benefits. With the first loud string pull of the guitar, Billy perked up from his drink and Eddie had his full attention as he started completely shredding his guitar along with the other members chiming in perfectly as they played a cover of Billy’s current favorite song. He’s been listening to Rock you like a Hurricane for the entirety of moving to Hawkins, the entire miserable stay in this dull life-draining town. But here was something that gave Billy instant excitement. The room suddenly filled with colors and he was staring at eddies fingers, noticing the rings, at his hair as he bounces on the stage while pulling the guitar. It was intriguing, it was matching his energy. The blonde tanned just really needed something or someone to match his intensity, his hunger for more. Despite no one singing, Billy would shout the lyrics in his mind and he couldn’t help but loosen the posture and move his foot and head to the beat. Eddies body was trembling and he lost all fear as the crowd stared at them, only focused on getting his notes right. He eyed back at them and noticed how much he seemed to have convinced Billy, taking a bit of pride in it as he held eye contact until Billy couldn’t help and close his eyes at the chorus, biting his beautiful bottom lip. The guitarists eyes widened, mouth painted with pure joy and excitement. A sort of excitement that never let his body rest so he jumped, danced, walked around the stage, definetly putting up a show. Plenty of the guests didn’t pay attention, a lot of them only focused on chatting it up with others. But there was the few that listened closely and he could tell they felt it in their body as much as he did. Music always connected, one of the reasons he enjoyed it so much.
