If I was in TWST ~ Part 2
I’m still in my clothes from yesterday, my hip hurts from sleeping outside cause there ain’t no way hell I’m sleeping in a dusty ass decaying house. Wandering around campus, staring at the buildings and plants that littered the place.
“Y’know maybe it's not so bad. Everything is really pretty.” I’m glancing around, not wanting to miss anything.
I veer off into the grass towards a plant that’s against a tree. It’s some type of flower…I think. I blink a few times before picking it.
I continue to walk around. I walk towards the green house, spotting what I hope is rosemary and sage.
“Finally something familiar”
I hear people talking close by though I can’t make out what’s being said completely. I quietly exit the green house, turning the corner and bumping into someone. I look up and see two people who look nearly the same, same hair cut just mirrored, same with the blue diamond shaped looking earrings, though one’s attire is more rumpled.
“Aww, Jade look at this, it’s squishy.” The one in the rumpled clothes says in a teasing voice staring into my soul.
"Now now Floyd, that isn't polite." The other man says.
“I wanna squeeze it.” The man takes a step towards me and I bolt, taking off in the grass.
I hear the man laughing behind me. I run into what I’m pretty sure is a courtyard and run pass multiple students, bumping into a few and just shoving them aside. I bump into a tall man with black hair and horns and a short person with black and pink hair in a bob. I freeze, turning to face them. I bow my head, slightly before tilting it up.
“Sorry about th-EEK!” I take off running again, having seen the blue haired man coming towards me again.
I bound through the doors, running past students who turn to look at the loud footsteps. I nearly skid past a stairwell before quickly ducking in. I hear footsteps run past the stair well, and I hold my breath. After a bit, the footsteps fade completely, I let out a sigh of relief, my face red from the lack of oxygen.
“That was a close one” I step out of the stair well and turn to run off and immediately bump into something and look up to see the man who I think is Jade. He has a smirk on his face.
“What’re yo-” I mutter before having arms wrap around me from behind as my ribs feel like they’re getting crushed.
“Motherfucker!” I yelp, gasping for air.
The man behind me, Floyd, was giggling and saying something about squishy humans while I wasn’t paying attention, too busy with my ribs being literally crushed. Eventually I am released onto the ground.
“Oh thank fuck. What the hell? Did you have to squeeze so hard?” I am audibly wheezing, sitting on the floor, a hand on my chest.
“If you wanted a hug you coulda just asked. There’s no guarantee I’ll say yes but damn a warning next time would be nice” I finish wheezing and slowly stand up.
“Bye squishyyy~” Floyd and Jade walk away as sudden as they appeared.
“The fuck is up with them?” I stare at them for second before turning and walking the other way.
I wander around the school looking in rooms and getting glances from students.
After a week of hanging around, I’ve managed to not attend a single class. I have basically been living on the down low exploring other dorms, borrowing food and running off whenever I see faculty come near me.
I have gotten into the habit of pick pocketing. Stealing wallets and cash, Sam has started seeing me in his shop rather often.
Frankly when I first met Sam, we both just kinda stared. He was looking at a teenager who was rummaging through the shelves of crystals, while I was stareing at a man who looks like a witch and reminds me of Louisana.
We both kinda just nodded at each other and now whenever I come into his shop, I sometimes get extra discounts on necessities if I pay in cash. Though most times I help restock his shelves to pay. It's a fair trade.
"Hiya, Sam." I walk into his shop, bouncing on my heels, Grim walking beside me, though he's already off touching random things on the shelves.
"Why hello there, little imp. What can I do for you today?" He greets me from behind the counter.
"You wouldn't have paint would you?"
"Now, why would you need paint?" He raises a brow, a smirk forming on his face.
"I'm thinking of fixing up at least 2 rooms in Ramshackle so that its slightly more livable."
"Well alright, I believe there might be some paint all the way in that back." Sam winks.
"Thanks Sam." I bow my head slightly, already off to the back, stopping to look at the crystals on the shelves.
After getting several buckets of paint, a paint roller and some painters tape, I head off to Ramshackle. After finally getting back and enlisting Grim's begrudging help, we started painting a room and the kitchen. It certainly was a messy project. Grim did knock over a bucket of paint, but the bucket was nearly empty so it's fine...though there is now a weird paint splat on the floor by the stove. I did "borrow" a ladder from the green house, but that's beside the point.
"Y'know Grim, I think we've earned ourselves a treat." I'm stretching, my hands are above my head as I bend my back, my shoulders popping.
"Does that mean tuna?" Grim looks up, hopeful look in his eyes
"It does for you, for me that means ice cream." I straighten up
Eventually, Crowley remembered that he has a child on the premises and that he hasn't gotten any reports of that kid in classes. He starts to panic a bit, going around to all the other dorms and staff asking if anyone had seen the kid, most said no, well accept the Leech twins and Sam.
"Well yeah, I saw them a few days ago, they came into my shop, and bought some paint and later some groceries."
"I saw Squishy a bit after orientation day~."
"Sam, where are they now?" Crowley asks, his voice is a bit strained.
"Probably Ramshackle or wandering 'bout."
"That child is such a pain, never attending classes and evading faculty. Perhaps they should be properly enrolled."
