Upon getting back his magic, Donny was relieved, more than anything. He was sure a lot of people were feeling that way, and Donny even forgot about the reason they had all shown up in the first place. It had been so easy for their judgment to get clouded, for them to just drop into something without looking at what it actually was or the full ramifications. Donny had a lot of notes to unpack once everything was said and done, but for the time being, what he needed more than anything was a drink.
“Well, that went about as well as expected,” he said, turning to Kenzie and Ewan. “The kids are still with their Gran for the rest of the day, and I don’t know about you two, but I could go for some firewhiskey. In fact, a lot of firewhiskey.” Donny patted down his jacket, checking for his wand even though he knew exactly where it was. It was just comforting to know that it was still there, that his magic was still there.
It had been more frightening than any battle he’d been in during the first war. At least then, he’d had magic, had been able to properly defend himself. Here, he had been completely exposed and it had been terrifying. He didn’t know how to take care of himself without magic. He resolved himself to learning.
。·:✧:· HER HEART FELT like it was beating out of her chest, sending frustration and fear through her body at an abnormal rate. Losing her magic was one of the most terrifying moments of her life. How could she heal people without magic? She knew that she could go to muggle medical school, but the idea of that wasn’t a good idea in the slightest. Breathing deeply, she reached for her wand, praying it was still there. When she felt her wand in her hand, her body calmed, knowing that she could still somehow, feel the magic coursing through it.
Kenzie chuckled, nodding a little too excitedly. “I will never say no to firewhiskey. In fact, I could probably drink it by the bottle at this point,” she responded. It’d already been a long week and by some miracle she didn’t have to work the next day. So why shouldn’t she have drinks with some friends? After the day they’d all had as well, why not? It was comforting to know that she had people around that could help her out in these instances.
All she could hope for now was that this wouldn’t happen again and that whatever happened could be solved or fixed. Kenzie didn’t need anymore issues threatening her life, even though she knew quite a bit would most likely still happen.
