The Thing poster !!

Yes, John Carpenter's The Thing. I love that movie so much man... Making this was actually one of my summer bucket list items.

It's about A5 paper size, maybe a lil smaller.

Now, this one was a doozie to make. First of all, the background is literally the back of a notebook I didn't like and thought I could vandalize. I was very stuck with what to do with the bg in the first place and this was the only solution I could come up with. Because it is from a notebook, the surface is slick/laminated and I had to scratch it with a blade to get the glue to stick. Then I somehow misjudged the placements of things. So the icicles at the top had to be made. I don't know how I managed to fumble it this badly but alas. When I started putting shit together before gluing it all on I with so much dread realized I have to cover up the writings at the top. My first thought was making it look like a sort of burst shape, inverse of the splatters (idk how to explain it okay) but when I drew it out I remembered icicles were a thing and would fit there much better. I also planned to make them realistic but then it sorta didn't happen and I got carried away. As you can tell (maybe) also the white smudges were a LAST addition. I thought I was fully done but something was bothering me, and I remembered I have this white furniture paint thing somewhere and thought maybe I can use it to spice things up. Well, fished it out of the depths of my drawers and went ham. In the beginning did only the ground snow but then just... fuckin kept going. Had to stop and remind myself to not overdo it. Don't regret it one bit.

Anyway I love love love this poster. Gonna be one of my favorites among all the others I have.
