Starbird dog sweater update!

After trying to freehand the pattern again, I actually thought ahead a bit and realized that my test-drawn pattern isn’t big enough to make an actual sweater for my doggo. So, I went to chart-minder.com, which lets you use actual little knitting symbols and have blank stitches and things, and I built a sweater. I think the chart-maker is meant for smaller repeating patterns, but it’s working great for this as well!

It also means unraveling the little bit of a sweater I’ve made. 😑 It’ll be worth it, though!

So! In the last 6 weeks of 2020 or so, I decided to finally take up knitting, after more than a decade of thinking, "I wish I knew how to knit." After making a few dishcloths, this scarf was my first big project, and I'm super proud of it! I finished it about half an hour before 2021 and spent that last half hour teaching myself a new stitch. 🤣

I asked @culumacilinte to take a pic of me with the scarf, and they went, "Photoshoot? Yeah, photoshoot!" This is the result, so enjoy!

I feel like this is good energy to start the year. It's a reminder that I don't know what I can do until I try, and that I should spend more time trying to do things and less talking about wanting to do this. That feels... relevant. Plus, I really hugely enjoy the process of doing this, and it has rapidly become my number one stim, a thing I couldn't have guessed until I just... tried the thing.

I haven’t had occasion to use it yet, but the Pineider Pen Filler!  It’s basically a portable inkwell that you can attach directly to almost any pen, so you can fill it with little mess.  I hope to use it when we can travel again – supposedly it can fill an average cartridge up to 20 times.  (Maybe I’ll make a video or something when I finally use it).

Also, working on socks for @saintcirce 🌿
