STATUS:  open.   SETTING: big patty’s pie house. 

𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐃  𝐈𝐒  𝐓𝐇𝐔𝐌𝐏𝐈𝐍𝐆  𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇  𝐀  𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆  𝐀𝐂𝐇𝐄  ,  she’s  got  it  bowed  over  the  array  of  notes  haphazardly  spread  out  in  front  of  her,  like  some  messed  up  collage.  notes  on  demons  of  all  things.  she’s  consumed  approximately  two  cups  of  coffee  so  far,  and  she’s  DEFINITELY  going  to  get  a  third.  (  probably  should  have  laid  off  the  vodka  last  night,  but  it’s  the  only  way  she  can  keep  the  terrors  that  find  her  at  night,  at  bay.  )  she’d  been  slacking,  and  gabriella  had  no  one  to  blame  but  herself,  she’d  given  up  this  search  so  many  times  and  focused  on  the  monsters  she  could  find.  but  they  never  quenched  the  heaviness  of how  hollow  she  felt  at  her  middle,  how  at  her  very  core  she  knew  she’d  let  her  DAD  down.  had  let  her  mother  get  away  with  the  entire  thing,  she’d  gotten  away  with  taking  a  sledge  hammer  to  her  life  and  gabby  had  never  recovered.  survived?  sure,  but  it’s  not  the  same  thing.  there’s  crazed  fury  living  within  her,  it  holds  her  entirety  hostage  and  fills  her  chest  with  sharp,  bitter  ice.  the  frost  never  does  melt,  she  just  distracts  her  mind  with  yet  ANOTHER  hunt.  the  hot  coffee  helps  too,  she  can  take  her  mind  off  how  cold  she  feels,  or  how  her  failing  heart  is  struggling  to  beat  under  such  pain.  she  brings  the  cup  to  her  lips,  and  it’s  then  that  she  notices  the  eyes  on  her,  it’s  put  down  and  she  lets  russet  gaze  scans  up  to  meet  the  person,  and  she’s  quirking  a  brow.  “  i  don’t  know  what  you  want,  i’m  sure  it’s  REALLY  interesting  but  i’m  BUSY  . . .  i  wasn’t  exactly  seeking  an  audience,  or  company  or  whatever.  ”

[  emeraude toubia  &  she/her &  female  ]  :  my  oh  my,  is  that  GABRIELLA CORTEZ in  bon  temps  ?  what  the  hell  are  they  up  to  hanging  around THE FALLS  listening  to   LISTEN BEFORE I GO  by BILLIE EILISH when  they  should  be  doing  whatever  a  HUNTER  does  ?  between  you  and  i,  the  27  year  old  HUMAN  is  avoided  for  acting  CALLOUSLY,  but  whenever  they  let  their  RELIABLE  side  shine  through  people  flock  to  them.  i  guess  they're  in  town  because HER FRIEND MAGGIE IS HERE.  explains  some  of  it,  though  i  can't  help  but  wonder  if  there's  more  to  a WIELDED BLADES SHARP AND BLOODSTAINED, GIRL WITH A GUN FOR A TONGUE story.   ───  essy, 25, gmt, she/her.

hey,  hello, hi lovelies.  i’m essy, and this is my little terror gabriella!  for the basics, she’s twenty seven, and a hunter, and on a mission to hunt down the demon who killed her dad.  

gabriella was born the only child of valentina and diego cortez, a result of a drunken one night stand that pushes her parents together for the SAKE of the baby. this only creates an uncomfortably miserable atmosphere from the off. though none of this is evident to little gabby, who becomes the apple of her father’s eye. she’s very much a daddies girl, and spends her time following him around as a little girl. her mother and her had a tricky relationship, for her mother, growing up so quick and having a little girl hadn’t been in the cards ---- and she gave up her LIFE, which had her always looking for some way out. something more interesting than the cushy family life she had. valentina had a wandering eye and had a history of cheating on gabriella’s father.  (  it’s not that diego didn’t know, maybe he did.  )  but regardless of her mother’s infidelity, gabby’s childhood goes smoothly, things are brushed under the carpet and hidden, and she’s got a kind heart - a soft girl. 

it’s only on one of her mothers ventures out, seeking an ESCAPE that trouble really finds the cortez family. her mother’s selfish, and she hears of DEALS,  some idiot boasting at a bar, and ends up crazed and researches.  gabby is fourteen when her mother finally finds what she’s looking for.  she makes a deal  ----  gabby never finds out what for,  in fact, all the details were disgustingly vague. 

this information, and the horrific memories of what was waiting for her when she got home from her friends house,  that she finds her dad’s body  ----  it’s already too late.  she struggles with the images of that day are things that don’t leave her even to this day, or the cold helpless feeling that had held her hostage.   

AT FIRST she thought her mother had done it, that her mother had killed her dad and taken off. but it’s only when she had gathered her stuff that she finds the research.  (  at first she doesn’t believe it,  she doesn’t want to,  not that all the monsters she thought to be fiction could actually be real.  )  

she resents her mother,  and as her grandma is in a care home,  she ends up in the care system herself.  soft girl ends up with a hardened cold heart  ----  and loses herself in the process. they’re never able to place her with families, she’s too much trouble, ending up in fights, or getting cautioned by the police.  all for stupid things, petty crimes, acting out.  she just WANTED the pain to stop but it never did. 

she begins to research herself, when she’s able ---- once she’s out of the system, she starts to begin her hunt.  first for her mother,  then for the monster who killed her dad.  it’s only when she’s 20 does she come face to face with her mother again.  after the loss of her grandmother,  the woman decides to show up for the reading of the will.  they come to blows,   gabby finds out the truth,  and the demon who she’s looking for,  one with RED eyes.  she tries to kill her mother,  tries to bring herself to do it,  SHE ALMOST DOES,  knife at the throat of the one who betrayed her most  ----  and she lets her know that she’s living on BORROWED time anyway.  THE NEW LIFE she has comes with a hefty price of ten years, and she only has four left.  (  after  that  she’ll  be  dragged  to  hell.  )  and so gabby walks away,  with the hope that hell will hurt her so much more.  

she starts looking for the demon,  it’s on a hunt that she bumps into maggie fusilier,  and they don’t get on at first,  until it seems they’ve both seen their FAIR share of tragedies.  she helps gabby narrow her search down, gives her information about demons she didn’t know.  SHE WAS LOOKING FOR A CROSSROADS DEMON.  they both remained friends, in fact she’s perhaps the only person she has left. 

gabriella now mostly hunts -----  she enjoys the way that it allows her to take out all the bottled up anger she hasn’t dealt with,  it’s easier to be vicious with a blade than face a cold hard mirror held up against herself. AGAINST WHO SHE’D BECOME.  no,  she’s not sure she could ever do that.  in the mean time, she has taken up residency in bon temps,  finds it could be somewhere to settle.  not HOME,  but close enough. 

WANTED CONNECTIONS  :  i’d love someone to be past friends with her,  or enemies,  or heck even the demon who killed her dad / gave her moms deal. in short --- pls just come plot with me <3
