reminder that WOMEN in the kpop industry paved the way for global success. The disrespect from men, boy group supremacists, and fellow women is ridiculous and undermining the strength and dominance women and kpop girl groups had over America and Japan.
Girls’ Generation was the first kpop group (not to mention female kpop group) that appeared on live US television- on the Letterman Show and Kelly Ripa. They also won a YouTube mv award for I Got a Boy (the FIRST kpop gg mv to get over 100m views) over big American names like Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber, which further brought exposure to not only snsd but the ENTIRE industry. And, not to mention, they performed at Madison Square Garden with their ICONIC Genie remix (and Miss Tiff’s rap god skills!!!)
the Wonder Girls are often overlooked when it comes to global exposure. They toured with the Jonas Brothers, released English singles, and were the FIRST kpop group to ever chart on the Billboard Hot 100 with the english version of “Nobody”. I literally can remember hearing Nobody in Justice when I was still in elementary school…like the Wonder Girls worked really hard to break into the global scene.
We also have BoA, who, for older fans, is LITERALLY the queen. She’s the woman who inspired Taeyeon of snsd to sing in the first place! BoA took Japan and South Korea by storm, but also released a full-length english album and headlined San Fran Pride in 2008.
Hyuna also made waves when she released Bubble Pop in 2011 and was the first kpop mv to get 100 m views, and remained at the top of YouTube’s “Most Watched” videos for quite some time.
Disrespecting female kpop artists is so ignorant considering the fact that they’re the whole reason the industry has expanded its platform in the way that it has. To make the counterargument that they “failed to gain momentum” or “they flopped” is also totally uncalled for- as asian artists, FEMALE asian artists, they tackled something no one before them had ever attempted before, broke through many barriers, and each achieved what no one had (or has yet to, even) conquer.
Kpop’s statewide success is because of women who led the movement. Show credit where it is due…women run the world.
Here is an article Forbes wrote about the female dominance in overseas activities and how that has changed due to the generational group shifts.
;;Ready or not.
MONSTA X MIRROR MASTERLIST
summary: all of them are guilty, but their penalty it’s up to you.
warnings: blood, guns, deaths, sex.
“Dear guilty, 24 hours have passed.”
The same sweet face and voice once again in every TV channel.
“They are doing fine, but since the society have decide that a sinner shouldn’t, it’s time to change that”
The TVs now show a room, with seven beds, a big table and what looks like a smaller room. It was the bathroom, they didn’t show that on TV, but of course the vigilants have cameras inside. There was no privacy. Some of them were currently chatting together, others were on their own assigned beds. The youngest one, instead, was looking straight to the camera. Watching his own reflection on it. There were no mirrors, he couldn’t stand that.
The only way they could contact with the exterior was a small door, where they get the food from. When they woke up in that room, a voice announce them some details and rules for, what they call, their “stay”.
They will get cleaned clothes everyday. Three meals a day. Sex or any other kind of affection was prohibited. Only eight sleep hours were allowed. And the “vigilants” were the ones setting those hours.
The small door opened, and the seven heads turned towards it. Was already dinner time? A small box appeared. The ones talking on the table rush to take it.
“Don’t do it” Hoseok say from his bed. He stand up and start walking towards it. “We don’t know what it is. They haven’t give us anything like this before.”
“Let’s just open it. We are fucked up anyways. It may help us to get out of here.” Shownu said, taking the box and putting it on the table.
“Yes, of course. Because this is just someone playing Cluedo with us.” Kihyun snap. “Shut up and don’t you dare open it.”
“What is CHW?” Hoseok said after looking closer at the box but without touching it.
“CHW?” The younger one spoke, getting closer to the table. “That’s me, Chae Hyungwon. Why?”
“It’s written here.” He said signaling the three red letters on the white box.
“Then you should open it.” Kihyun snap again, going to his bed and sitting on it while looking at the other six.
The imagen then come back to the woman, smile big and beautiful.
“I guess that, of course, you don’t know about the past of the guilty. But let me illuminate you. Police records, accidents, seven. Did I help you? Sinner Hyungwon would only open the box if you, society, make him do it. But just so you know, there will be some consequences for Chae Hyungwon, his family, and the seven sinners. Choose wisely, judge well. The game has just began.”
OPEN IT OR NOT? YOUR CHOISE.
;;The start.
MONSTA X MIRROR MASTERLIST

group: monsta x
warnings: blood, guns, deaths, sex.
“Words spill out of our mouths.”
Those were the words that the whole country listened. Suddenly, all the TV channels were showing the same face, a beautiful face. A dark haired girl begins to speak. Her voice was sweet and scary at the same time, but she looked extremely professional, as if she was a news presenter. Everyone play attention.
“While growing up we face problems, lots of them.Temptations that, for some people, are really hard to resist. Behaviors, bad behaviors. But who has told us what’s right and what’s wrong? The society.
You, people out there, thinking that your opinion is the only one that matters. Arrogant people.
Let’s play a game. We have seven players. We are sure that you would recognize some of them. Don’t worry, we will not harm them, that’s up to you, that’s up to the society.
All of them are sinners. It’s up to you, all of them can live, we are not that bad, or all of them can die, if you are. We will be playing this game for as long as you want.
But if you want to end it quickly just found out their sins, decide their fates. That’s what the society does.
Wich good luck to the players of Mirror.”
Her face disappear from the screen, and seven faces were showed.
Son Hyunwoo, Shin Hoseok, Lee Minhyuk, Yoo Kihyun, Chae Hyungwon, Lee Jooheon, Im Changkyun.
After that, everything was black for a second before white letters appear.
Welcome to Mirror.
;; Welcome, guilty.

;;Son Hyunwoo aka Shownu. Male, South Korea, 25 years old.
Fame brings happiness. That’s what common people say, but it’s just because they have never reached it. But we can say that for Hyunwoo, or how the whole country, and probably half of the world knows him, Shownu, it’s true. He have everything, money, sex and all the love from his fans. What a shame that his sins, his sin, had lead him here.
;;Chae Hyungwon Male, South Korea, 16 years old.
A rich kid from a good neighborhood. Charming parents, extremely charming. Hyungwon have done so many things wrong in his life that at this rate his parents just let him be. Is it his fault? He was just raised that way. But that’s up to you.
;;Shin Hoseok. Male, South Korea, 27 years old.
The life of an economist in the middle of a global economic crisis. That’s the kind of life Hoseok is living. Of course there are times when he just wants to give up. Wouldn’t you? But he keeps going to his office everyday, to see the same red numbers everyday. Honestly, we would also sin if I had to live like that.
;;Lee Minhyuk. Male, South Korea, 17 years old.
Let’s just state that his life isn’t perfect. But, does someone has one? You surely don’t. His daily routine consists in attending at class, trying to live up to the expectations his parents had set from him. Minhyuk’s only rest is when he is at his room, with his computer. Does it sound familiar? Think, what kind of sin have you committed? That could be the answer.
;;Lee Jooheon Male, South Korea, 22 years old.
There have never be someone has lucky as Jooheon. He get his job as a coincidence, get his girlfriend has another one. Almost everything in his life was out of a coincidence. Have you notice it? Almost everything. But he is very sweet, we can’t deny it.
;;Yoo Kihyun Male, South Korea, 20 years old.
Kihyun, young and reckless. The only difference from his present-self and his past-self it’s that his actions have consequences. Kihyun is not an underage anymore. We are pretty sure his mother had already speak with him this plenty of times, but he never listen. Reckless Kihyun, now he is in big trouble.
;;Im Changkyun Male, South Korea, 24 years old.
Young, rich, handsome, every girl’s dream. One of the youngest millionaires in the country, probably the world, but he doesn’t know, he doesn’t care about those kinds of things, all he cares about it’s to live a good life. A life without difficulties. He is doing well so far. So why it’s him here? He is trying to live a honest life.

since the year is ending, let’s get some things straight once and for all~
idols are human beings, you do not own them and therefore you have no right calling them ‘mine’ and actually meaning it.
stop this fanwar shit now or you’re canceled forever.
seeing someone supporting and fawning over a group that you don’t particularly like is not an invitation for you to step in and preach about your faves. let people stan and love whoever they want as long as they’re not being problematic.
let this year be the time where you fix and polish your fandom’s reputation and prove people wrong.
idc who you are, call out the people and the blogs who constantly disrespect other groups’ success while putting their faves on a high pedestal.
success wouldn’t exist without competition, so be a good sport and appreciate it when supporting your favorite groups and artists without bringing others down.
stop with the fucking whitewashing, we’re sick of it and no one’s afraid to call you out with your ghost edits ffs.
I get that this is mostly in good spirit, but please stop writing and commenting ‘any __ here?’ on literally everything. you’re annoying others, so have some respect. this goes for non-kpop videos / posts too.
protect girl groups at all costs but don’t attack people who only know boy groups. educate them instead.
views on youtube mean close to nothing, stop comparing and instead focus on the artistry of the music videos and appreciate that it’s actually available for you to view.
shipping is okay but please don’t go overboard and spam these idols with edits or freak out every time they interact with someone you ship and make them visibly uncomfortable.
don’t ever ever harass idols and demand that they speak English every time they appear on a vlive or go live on instagram.
same goes with asking for other members on a vlive (literally who the fucc do you think you are ¿).
It’s sad that we are fully realizing this after Jonghyun’s death, but mental health issues are something that we need to be aware of and be supportive of idols that are / have been going through a rough time.
remember the stress levels for these guys and gals are pretty bad sometimes, make sure to give them your support whenever you can with some nice and encouraging comments and tell them they’re doing okay 🌹
doesn’t matter who you are a fan of, keep the members of SHINee in your thoughts and send them love bc they truly need all the love and support in the world right now.
show some appreciation to underrated groups.
we’re a community that needs to stick together instead of fighting within it, so……….
last but not least, be a good example to the rest of your fandom(s) and spread love this year ✨
SHINEE’s Jonghyun left us at 27. SHAWOLS deserve a warm hug from every fandom right now.
You all know how we feel sad when our artist has the smallest bruise on their body or do not tweet for 2 days and we start missing them … imagine losing the one who gave you some hope and joy in life forever.
Shawols, dear Shawols. beautiful Shawols who are as blue and impressive as the vast sea. As a BTS’ ARMY, I will stand by you. And as a human, I will cry with you. Even if you grieve, be proud you followed that man. I am another group’s fan but I knew all along how very respected, talented and loved he was. He also took care of BTS along with the other Shinee members. They are great and loving seniors.
He may have left this world but every artist who touches hearts lives forever. So bear him warmly is your core. And draw him smiling and happy in your memory.
Shinee is a gem that needs to keep on shining like it always did. It’s at this time that you will need to stand by them the most. Stay strong and united.
My deepest condolences go to his family, friends, fans, and Korea as a whole that just lost one of its immeasurable voices and souls. Rest in peace Jonghyun. You were so beaming, it will never dim.
