I was scrolling Twitter and saw this picture. It's so cute and then I remembered something: In 1930, Mexican government tried to change Santa Claus as Christmas icon for Quetzalcóatl (K'uk'ulkan); so that year, the fethered serpent god was the one in charge to brought gifts to children in Mexico. This was to reinforce nationalism with a well know image in all the country. Sounds bizarre and amazing at the same time.
