Eventually

No one understands my words but with time, they do eventually.

Alone with these thoughts, momma told me I internalize shxt, but all that talk I wasn’t quite getting it.

And all em “freinds”, really ain’t a benefit to me

Offered no help just to see me fail so they can laugh at me. 

Hoping when my brothers grow taller they still look up to me.

Product of a broken home, trying not to let that get to me.

 But i’ll get over that too, eventually.

17 Years old, cant imagine my mom being happy when the doctors said she was pregnant.

But after 36 weeks we all learn to love, well we all do eventually.

Made me the sun in her universe, that always been first love for me.

I cry often feeling like this worlds against me, crying often because the worlds’ against me. 

No daddy in my baby pictures, sometimes I think maybe I was raised wrong.

A good father and a better man is what i’m gonna be, we’ll see eventually.

Lost Love

I’ve put my love in the wrong place so much. At this point I think it’s best to give up. You’ve lied and cheated on me enough. The scars you’ve left on my tattered heart is enough. More I try not to think about it, the more the tears fall. More I see that you have black widowed me in your web of lies. I hurt because I still love you, I love you, after your love has died.

She has placed a smile on my face Only to remove the joy that it has place. Taken me to the heights of happiness on another state Only to watch me fall from a higher place.

Us has Died

What is it when I'm interested in the thought of you, and you the thought of me.

But down the line the thought of us has died and no longer can the mere thoughts of each other sustain the place of what should be us.

The we, we being that is no more than a distant memory, has lost it’s relevance in time and taken is place in history

So now I return to my path, my path to obtain the enlightened mind.

Dying to Live

If i should live a life with you, am i really living or am i a corpse roaming without a cause? Your love has taken so much, so much more than I am able to give. Your love has robbed me of my very existence. Your love has taken the me that I am, until the me that I am is no more. The me that I was is now a corpse with no existence. No longer able to give what you take, love what you hate nor die for your sake. -Knng_Shakka

MISUNDERSTOOD

Not only do I misunderstand, but I am often misunderstood. I may not have said all the things I meant, but never have I said things I don’t feel . Life seemed easier when I made different choices. Easier when my actions were reckless. And I Cared little about consequences. Because then I could live with myself and my downfalls. But even now, now that i have changed my ways to be he that society expects. I still find myself living in the shadow of my former self. People know me not for who I am, or who I am trying to become. Mr. Misunderstood has never been understood.

Pride

I am the embodiment of strength and pride in my African ethnicity. I wish not to distort or abandon my roots, but instead to move and rule cities. Many of my brothers and sister have lost their way, misguided like the Shepard-less sheep. Child of Africa you have lost your way and sense of belonging. Time stands not still for man, nor do the hands of Ben reverse in our favor. So I pray that we learn to embrace yourselves now, love you, your dark coco, your kinky curls. Love you for I will forever love me.

Free Will

It’s not cool for man to play God Trying to control to control the movements and free actions of man. Being forced to conform to ones orders are truly exhausting. Slavery has long been abolished, but my masters are yet to remove my shackles. So I break my own chains and prepare to fight my own battles and slay my own demons. If I should die then, at least I would have die of my own will. And if I should die on this battle field, the choice will be mine to fight and die free.

Void

Although the heart forgives.

Like an elephant the mind never forgets.

It never forgets pain, the hurt, the lies, the betrayals or the broken promises.

You said you’d be here forever, though it seems forever has found it’s end.

You’ve bought new happiness billed at my expense.

Spring brings no growth of fresh grass. In my heart aches as winter has halted and is yet to make its pass.

Lonely Man

Do you know what it is to never be alone but to forever be a loner. To hurt inside yet others only see smiles. To have lied so much that I believe my own lies. Do you know know what it’s like to cry but never shed a tear. MEN DON’T CRY they say, or so they’ve trapped us in mental fear.

The Poet

Is the poet the writer of the poem or the reader. Yes the writer words phrases and clever rhymes. But is it the reader’s job harder; reading, dissecting and looking in between the lines. Or is the poet the poem itself, aren’t poems one’s interpretation of things already coexisting around? Real question now presents itself. Who/what created that which is around us. There lies the true poet.
