i think my big takeaway from depression, life, and withstanding it all for the long haul is this:

it doesn't get better. people love to say that, but it's not true. nobody can promise you that it gets better. sometimes it even gets worse. but what i will say is that it gets different, and that is something that makes life manageable. even if things get harder, or they're just as hard, or maybe a little easier, it at least won't be the same struggle you're sitting with now. you will learn and adapt and find new battles to fight. even when you don't want to. the change in scenery makes it something you can stomach, because even if it fucking sucks, god at least it's not the same struggle endlessly for 80 years.

it doesn't get better, but it does get different, and that is what makes life a fight you can endure.
