Hi! I just finished Morland PI after my second time listening to Murray Mysteries, and I was wondering if there are any links to socials/websites for the cast members, in case any of them do other projects?
Took some time to answer this ask because things were in the works but here we are!
Do you miss Knoves productions and want more from the people behind the scenes? Here is how you can find more and stay up to date with future projects.
Knoves Storytelling productions:
Most of our audience came to us through our first audio drama project, Murray Mysteries. The numbers tell us a lot of MM listeners never branched out into our other productions so this is the first place to go for more!
Morland P.I. is a queer love story full of mystery, adapted from Jane Austen's Northanger Abbey. Kit Morland, true crime podcaster and wannabe heroine, is dying for some excitement. When her neighbours offer to take her on a trip to Bath, site of the famous Chawton Murders, she knows this is her chance to investigate the unsolved mystery. But from boisterous siblings to intriguing women with an eye for fabrics, Kit's new environment is full of distractions.
Something Queer is Happening Here is our non-fiction limited series, hosted by Drew Frankie Victorie (voice of Mina Murray and Jamie Morland and cover artist) and May Toudic (writer/producer of Morland P.I. and Murray Mysteries). Join two LGBTQ+ writers and scholars on a quest to find all the queer subtext in literature and media. Because why bury your gays when you can dig them up?
Now that Knoves is no longer, some of our cast and crew are still creating and collaborating! Here is where you can find some of their work:
Drew Frankie Victorie (voice of Mina Murray and Jamie Morland, host of Something Queer is Happening Here, cover artist) recently designed the cover for This Particular Somewhere, and it is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. You can find them on Instagram @thevictorie.
Megan John (voice of Lucy Westenra and Kit Morland) wants you to know that adulting is hard and she hasn't been doing anything creative, but that's a lie. She has been killing it on her bullet journaling instagram @megs_journals_, and is voicing the upcoming audiobook for This Particular Somewhere.
May Toudic (writer/producer of Murray Mysteries and Morland P.I, host of Something Queer is Happening Here) is still writing and looking for work! Most recently, she started an independent publishing company, Sunflower Press, and published her first novel This Particular Somewhere.
Eager to act after her plans for the future fall apart, Kat leaves her native Norway and ventures across the sea to work as a nanny in a Scottish seaside manor. As she navigates the complexities of caring for the Elphinstone children, Kat finds solace in the warm camaraderie of the housekeeper, Margaret, and the hospitable cook, Tommy. In between balancing her work and online studies, Kat embraces the remote village's unique community, crafting playdates with a fearless American babysitter and matchmaking for Tommy, who grows strangely tongue-tied around the charming local grocer. When her employer's younger brother joins the fold, however, Kat discovers a growing connection of a slightly different nature.
Intertwining themes of belonging and self-discovery, This Particular Somewhere welcomes readers into a vibrant Scottish coastal town, where new friendships and unfamiliar landscapes kindle unforeseen possibilities. From the enchanting manor to the charming village brimming with colorful characters, the novel invites readers to immerse themselves in a world teeming with humour, comfort and deep connections.
Maddie Cooper (Knoves admin assistant) is currently studying media production to start a career in podcasting and sound production. You can find their work on their Linktree.
The Mascots:
Gilbert (voice of The Beast) is sadly no longer with us. After a diagnosis of cardiomyopathy in November 2023, he passed away at home in March 2024. He is dearly missed by his mum May and his sister Marilla.
Marilla (voice of Darcy) went from chaotic little sister to stressed-out older sibling when her mum brought home a new kitten last April to keep her company. Her new sister Sawyer keeps her on her toes, but she loves her really (deep, deep down). Marilla is still a mean lean chirping machine and dedicated biscuit-maker.
Void (bringer of darkness) is still thriving with Drew! He recently went to the vets and got certified polite boy. What an achievement.
We hope you enjoyed this update and will want to check out our new projects! While the company has disbanded, we are still in touch and still monitoring this account, so please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions or comments.
Knoves Out
all i did yesterday to celebrate halloween was alternate between taz vs dracula and murray mysteries for literal hours and bake brownies. i also played fortnite but that felt less celebratory and more just like something i was doing while listening to taz vs dracula and murray mysteries.
I don't go here but happy October?
Now that they let John watson and Mina Harker be podcasters, here are some other classic characters who should start a podcast :
Mr. Utterson, of "The strange case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde"
Elizabeth Bennet, of "Pride and prejudice"
Viktor Frankenstein, of "Frankenstein"
Ishmael, of "Moby Dick"
That is all. Feel free to add ideas in the tags.
Katherine Morland of Northanger Abbey anyone?
Pssst check out Morland P.I.
If I had a nickel for every time there was a podcast adaptation of a classic literary piece I like, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice
At least 3 nickels, don't forget about Morland P.I.!

murray mysteries listening update: e22—The Count
my brother: i like that dracula guy me, thinking i misheard him, or he's messing with me: you what my brother: i like that dracula guy! me: shut up!! my brother: why, does he like kill people or something? me: ... he's dracula. my brother: yes, and??
he really has never seen a vampire movie ever has he. i can't believe this. he likes the dracula guy.
THE jonathan harker?? asexual???? in MY MURRAY MYSTERIES???????
it's more likely than you think
so my brother and i like to hum along to the introduction of murray mysteries but we listened to episode 30 yesterday, the one where drac does EXACTLY THAT, and almost in the exact same way we do. and now i feel like i can't do it anymore. which sucks 'cause it's catchy.
i am craCKING UP RN
so i started listening to murray mysteries, cause i didn't wanna cheat on dracula daily but i wanted to experience the story in its entirety. i started listening to it when i was waiting on my brother to get off work one day last week, and i got through the first episode before he finallyyyyy got out
and we ended up listening to it together! it's been nice :) we listen to it when i drop him off and pick him up, which is about a fifteen minute drive, so about thirty minutes a day all said.
anyways we got to episode 11 (deck the halls) and van helsing's decorating lucy's room with the garlic, and we're both cracking up, and i manage to say, "y'know, the best part is, van helsing's pretty much just like this in the book!"
him: there's a BOOK?! me: i—um—it's dracula!? him: i didn't know they were gay in dracula me: well, i mean, they changed some stuff
so, yeah. my brother had no idea murray mysteries was based on dracula 'cause none of the characters or plot points were familiar to him. now, when it comes to, like, mina, jonathan, lucy, the suitors, yeah, that tracks. neither of us have seen a vampire movie ever
but i thought van helsing was like—a well-known pop-culture figure or something?? idk maybe not
update on my brother and me listening to murray mysteries ...
somehow it didn't quite hit me that lucy would actually die until she was actually dying??? idk i think i was fooled by the modern setting, i thought they'd be able to save her or smth. i forgot that she has to die for the next plot point to happen. honestly i call that a testament to the great writing of the podcast: it captured me and made me forget that it was dracula and i should know what happens next.
lucy died. my brother went "good, i didn't like her anyway." if i hadn't been driving i would have Hit Him oh my god how dare he!!! i love lucy westenra so much!! and honestly i really liked how it feels like she's more of a Character in mm ... like idk, it's been a year since i read dracula, so i may update this opinion next month when i read more dracula daily, but i feel like she's a bit more fleshed out in mm. idk
noooo so lucy died and jane was talking and then art came in???? and they were like crying and then they said "i had everything all planned out" and i turned it off. i turned it off. couldn't do it. not doing that. god help me i'm picking him up later and we probably will play it again. good lord. god i love art tho
I've heard it before but I'll say it again, my favourite adaptation choice Murray Mysteries did was instead of book!Jonathan talking about how ~quaint~ the local's superstitions are, MM!Jon is like "every Romanian has the best goddamn gaydar in the world"
the best thing abt murray mysteries is just like how jon and mina meet where hes stuck w his flatmates at a pub quiz and then this woman comes over and screams at him for knowing all the answers because usually the group of assholes hes on the team of dont get many right and its so clear they only brought him on to help and hes just like
Podcast adaptations of classic books, you are everything to me
Now that Sherlock and Co is growing in popularity I want to recommend Murray Mysteries. It's a fairly similar premise to Sherlock and Co, being a modern podcast adaptation of Dracula. It's incredible, with lots of great queer rep and is very faithful to the original book. Definitely my favourite Dracula adaptation. Go listen to it, it's great.
