THE OLDER BOY cocked a brow at the other’s words. Would it have been strange to assume he knew or even understood what was happening, even after only hearing one side. Probably. It wasn’t exactly unheard of which only caused Ryan to soften his stare slightly. “Don’t they always. Yours a deadbeat too, huh?”
“YEAH,” HE NODDED. “Left when I was a baby and went on to have this whole new perfect family,” he added with an eye roll. “But that was before we had to move in with him, now we’re supposed to be one big happy family.” He explained, leaving out why they had to move in with his father. “Is that what yours want too?”
fcrdsmith:
raising a brow at his son asking questions, he smiled ever so slightly and rubbed his jaw. “the plot is all about two guys who have just became friends going on a road trip to gamble and play poker—one of them is a gambling addict and the other is seen as a good-luck charm.” he rambled, “are you actually interested or are you just trying to be nice??”
“I DON’T NEED to play nice,” he rolled his eyes at the older male. Maybe he had been doing a little of that, but the question would put an end to that. “Maybe you’re not the only one who got no sleep last night, and I’m just too tired to deal with this shit right now.”
sarah-ffs:
“What a tough little boy.”
“WHAT CAN I say? I eat all my vegetables.”
fcrdsmith:
“you may work a few months, may get a few million but you still miss out on quite a bit with your family and loved ones.” he said quietly, chewing on his lip. “the movie or acting in general??”
KNOX NODDED AT the words. Of course that he would mind missing out on time with this family, but didn’t seem to be too opposed to missing out years of his own life. “The movie,” he replied, pushing his thoughts back to avoid yet another fight.
fcrdsmith:
furrowing his brows at his son’s words, his jaw opened slightly. “are you kidding me?? please tell me that was just a terrible joke.” he mumbled, rubbing his eyes in hope of waking up more. “these past few weeks i’ve been working for like over sixteen hours.”
HE SIMPLY SHRUGGED. “It still sounds like a sweet deal. Work a few months, make a few millions. What’s it about anyway?”
fcrdsmith:
“no.” he shook his head, holding his finger out as if to strengthen his word. “i just fell asleep.. riley and i are fine.”
"IF YOU SAY SO,” he shrugged, still eyeing the older man. “You got here late last night. I didn’t know actors actually worked more than four hours a day.”
ryanxscott:
“– okay just shut up for two seconds you’re my father not my dad. you made it clear ages ago that you didn’t want me and now i don’t want you or your money, okay? delete my number, i mean it.” ryan hung up the phone, rather aggressively actually, before turning around and his gaze falling on the other, hesitation and worry beginning to show on his features. “wrong numbers drive you insane sometimes, huh? ”
NOT A WORD left the teen as he accidentally listened to one side of the conversation, not that he needed to hear anything else to have a good idea of what was going on. Knox quirked his brow at the attempt to lie, and then shrugged. “Yeah. Especially when it’s long lost daddy dearest. Those always seem to find a way back to your life.”
jvvpiters:
chuckling lightly, jupiter shook her head. “nah, he can handle himself. the only reason he DID get cleaned up was because of me, but he never necessarily asked for help. it was more like i would kind of FORCE him to let me take care of him. boys – you’re all the same.”
“IF YOU MEAN mainly and so strong that we don’t need to be nursed back to health unless it’s by a pretty girl, then yes,” he joked. “So, what’s the prognostic on my lip, doctor?”
fcrdsmith:
“what?? i’m awake..” ford grumbled, opening his eyes to look up at the person. “—when did i fall asleep?? sorry.”
THE TEEN LOOKED at the man and shrugged. “I didn’t mean to wake you up. Why are you sleeping here anyway? Pissed off Riley?”
emorysmith:
“ Could you like sign/forge this for me its just a simple paper saying that my parents acknowledge my math grade isn’t exactly what they want them to be. “
KNOX TOO THE paper, reading and then looking at his little sister. “Come on, Em, you can’t fil this shit. I’ll do this, but you gotta fix this grade, yeah?”
Yes, I bottle things up. Yes, I let the things on my mind destroy me. Yes, it hurts. Yes, I push it away. Yes, it backfires, and it happens more frequently than I would like to admit. Yes, I do it again, and again, and again. But, what does it matter?

lisbetxsmith:
Lisbet looked up at her half-brother with wide eyes, her entire body trembling in his grip. If she’d been able to, she would have wondered why he was here, why he cared, but she was too far gone by now to question it.
She pressed her hands over her ears, shaking her head and squeezing her eyes shut. “I can’t, I can’t, I can’t-” She repeated over and over, gasping for breath. She was crying so hard her shoulders shook with the effort, and she was curled into a ball, looking smaller than ever.
KNOX DIDN’T KNOW what to do. He knew what was going on, but he didn’t know the girl enough to know how to get her to calm down. And of course the rest of the family would take that time to be MIA. “Yes, you can. Come on, just take deep breaths, yeah? Like me,” he tried, forcing his own breathing to slow down and hoping the girl would do the same.
naomixporter:
“What did I just hear Knox Smith say that he was going to study? I must be on some kind of drug because we all know that’s not true.” Naomi chuckled a bit. “Oh, alright then let’s head to your house first.”
“YES, YOU DID. Do you see how desperate I’ve been? This is not the life I was raised to live, Naomi,” he complained before joining her in laughter. “Let’s hope no one is home. I really don’t want to deal with that right now.” He started on the direction to his father’s house.
