25-35 is such a weird fucking age because youâre 100% a bread-and-butter Standard Edition Millennial but the cool teens are like âok boomerâ because you have a Real Job but the actual Boomers at your job are like âIâm not going to listen to a literal fucking childâ as they download 16 self-replicating viruses and meanwhile the Gen Xers are telling you to refinance a mortgage for a house you donât have and youâre sitting there at the Adults Table with the pretty tasty casserole you cooked because youâve finally figured out how to do that now but everyone is eating the Boomerâs store-bought macaroni instead and admittedly they do sort of taste similar so it probably wasnât worth all the trouble of cooking from scratch and youâre trying to comfort the freshly-graduated sobbing 22-year-old next to you because she just woke up here and doesnât know where she is but you have like maybe 5k dollars in a savings account labelled RETIREMENT that grows approx. twelve cents a year and you keep eating dry macaroni while smiling incomprehensibly and periodically blacking out like ??????????

LETâS ALL SHARE THE GOOD LUCK THIS POST BRINGS!!
Sansa Stark gets to spend the rest of her days as the Queen in the North. She completed Robb Starkâs mission, she freed the North and all its people, and they chose her to lead them. Even with a Stark on the Throne in Kings Landing, she never forgot what the people of the North asked of her family, and she made sure to give it to them. It was never about who sat on the Iron Throne for the people of the North, and Sansa knew it. She lived it, she fought for it. The North will forever be a free and Independent Kingdom, ruled by a Queen they chose, because of Sansa Stark, daughter of Lady Catelyn and Lord Eddard Stark, sister of King Robb Stark and King Jon Snow, the Red Wolf, the Lady of Winterfell, and the Queen in the North. She will sit upon her throne, with direwolves carved into the wood, in her family home, and for the rest of her days she will be the Queen she was always meant to be, and history will remember her as the Queen who finally freed the North.Â
All hail Queen Sansa, of House Stark. Long may she reign.Â
one of the clearest and most disturbing examples on the dangers of late-stage capitalism and how billion dollar companies are willing to put the lives of innocent people at risk for financial gain is the crashes of lion air flight 610Â (killing 180 people) and ethiopian airlines flight 302Â (killing 157 people) and Boeingâs involvement in itÂ
so basically what happened is that the manufacturer Airbus (HUGE Boeing rival) came out with this brand new plane in 2010 called the A320neo which had a larger engine and fuel efficient and was basically going to make Airbus aloooot of money. Boeing, of course, didnât like this and scrambled together to come out with their own updated plane called the 737 max. the only problem isâŚâŚ.. this new plane design was rushed into production (to keep up with Airbusâs new plane) and had some serious design flaws.
first, the engine on the 737 max was too close to the ground so they moved it higher towards the windows which is just fine and dandy except it would cause the plane to point too far up during take off and cause a stall aka start falling out of the sky. so instead of taking the time to re-engineer the new plane Boeing decided to cut some corners instead (money money money) and add a software system called the MCAS which automatically forces the nose down if the plane begins to stall. this software was extremely faulty however with incorrect readings and was extremely dangerous because it could control of the entire plane and make it go nose down without the pilotâs awareness. and since Boeing also didnt want to spend the money on re-training the pilots they elected not to tell pilots about this new system at all. so can you imagine being a pilot flying a plane that suddenly starts to fucking dive bomb out of nowhere?? because thatâs what happened in these two crashes - after take off the plane would receive faulty data and begin to dive towards the ground. the pilots had no clue that this software even existed and was controlling the plane. and since the pilots had no idea what was happening or how to fix it, this software caused them to ultimately crash and kill themselves and all passengers on board
watch these videos for more info and always check what kind of aircraft youâre flying on in the future
oh and donât forget that Boeing tried to blame the crashes on the pilots as well
We don't know a lot about the world's earliest animals, but thanks to their 558 million-year-old fossilised remains, we thought we had a hint as to their appearance.
Scientists at the Australian National University (ANU) have discovered that the iconic Dickinsonia fossils are probably not flat sea creatures with ribbed bodies.
@bunjywunjy
YO, THIS IS A BIG DEAL!!!Â
basically, the Ediacaran was the geologic age that came just before the Cambrian, spanning from 635 to 541 Million years ago. it was though that there wasnât any complex multicellular life at this point, but now we know thatâs WRONG and INCORRECT. The discovery of the Ediacaran Biota fossils have proved there was life of some sort even this early in Earthâs history, but it was⌠weird.
most of the fossils from this time look more like geometric shapes than anything, uh, alive. and a lot of these weird organisms seem to have grown in mathematically-precise patterns! and more than that, they grew by branching fractally. nothing alive today does that!Â
and if that werenât enough, a lot of these Ediacaran weirdos exhibited tri-radial symmetry, meaning they were symmetrical on three sides instead of just the traditional two used by animals today. again, nothing alive today does that.Â
so to be frank, scientists just flat-out thought these organisms werenât animals at all, but were instead either an animal precursor or some kind of weird stem-animal cousin. (I like the term Mathimals, myself.)Â
but, uh, according to the article, scientists are now thinking that the Mathimal fossils arenât of whole organisms, but only of their supporting structures! IF THIS IS TRUE, IT MEANS THAT THE MATHIMALS WERE FAR MORE COMPLEX THAN WE THOUGHT, AND PROBABLY WERE ACTUALLY ANIMALS. which is a shame because it means I canât use the term Mathimal anymore, but hey I guess you canât have everything.
but on the other hand, it means that the great-grandaddy of all animal life on the planet looked something like this
and I think Iâm okay with that.

I canât believe this needs to be said, but the rich are not doing you a service by employing you. They require you. Everything they have is contingent on the fact that you work for them and do what they say. Without you, the rich have literally nothing. Workers have power over the entire economy.
It is actually workers doing a major service to their employers by not unionizing and not starting a revolution, since literally the only thing workers need to do to grind the entire economy to a halt is put their hands behind their back and stop working. That is it. Workers could crash the entire machine in one moment if they wanted.
Stop calling them âjob creators.â They arenât. They literally require you. But you dont require them. You are wealth creators. And you have the power to take it back whenever you want. You just have to organize.
One of the most useful insights my father ever gave me was that âyour employer owes you moneyâ. At any given moment, you have done work that your employer has not yet written you a check for. They owe you money, and you owe them nothing
We should be more pro-active or weâll see more of such sad fates of honest people.
And the utterly ironic thing is Iâve seen repeated tumblr posts of that iconic photo absolutely slagging the shit out of Peter Norman as âlol white guy so uncomfortableâ  âWhy the fuck isnât he supporting themâ, etc etc.
As an Australian this post surprised me. I knew none of the above.

Pay attention, 2014 Mad Men:Â This little girl is holding a LEGO set. The LEGOs are not pink or âmade for girls.â She isnât even wearing pink. The copy is about âyounger childrenâ who âbuild for fun.â Not just âgirlsâ who build. ALL KIDS.
In an age when little girls and boys are treated as though they are two entirely different species by toy marketers, this 1981 ad for LEGO â one of our favorite images ever â issues an important reminder.

This is my favorite advertisement. Also, a short story about sexist parenting with LEGOS. I work at a toy store that sells thousands of dollars of legos and Iâve seen time and time again parents refusing to buy blue box legos for girls and refusing to buy pink box legos for boys even when they ask for them. One girl came in with her parents and she wanted LEGO CITY because it was her birthday and they wanted to buy her gift with her at the store. [LEGO CITY is a LEGO series that lets a child build train stations, firetrucks, passenger ships, space exploration vehicles, drawbridges, garbage disposal trucks, basically anything related to the running of a city and it is not a gender based toy.] I showed them the LEGO CITY, but the mom told the child over and over âNo, this is for boys you canât get thatâ and eventually, she made the little girl choose a LEGO Disney Cinderella Castle instead because it was âmore appropriateâ. Even after I pointed out that every box has female and male LEGO people because the toy is meant for both boys and girls, she refused because it looked like a âboyâ toy. Iâve had many occasions where a girl will be drawn to the LEGO CITY series only for the parents to come to me and ask  âWhere are the GIRLS Legos, you know, princesses and stuff. Iâm not buying her this sort of thingâ and it makes me so, so, so, so, sad every time because I can already imagine the types of values in education and career choices the parents will be scolding child for wanting in the future when they arenât even allowed to play with anything blue. Let girls be kids without all the forced gender stereotyping, dammit.Â
You know what little girls could grow up to be? Architects, engineers, builders.
You know what little girls cannot ever be, no matter what they do in life? A princess.
We sell real life careers to little boys, but to girls we sell lies and fantasy. Then we have the gall to say that girls âchooseâ careers that earn them less, that girls just arenât interested in STEM fields, that girls are stupid for pursuing frivolous nonsense, etc. etc. Â
This is gender in action. Not nature, but socialization.
