A new bookmark on its way
The work in progress. What it will be, hm?..
I've never worked with such tiny threads, ahah. It's just a bit harder, but it lets the result be relatively small, because who needs a bookmark so much longer than an average book as my Lotor was, hehehe.
All is ready!...
Hello new project (I hope) 🤞
It’s Lotor. A bookmark I made in a specific two-colored macrame technique.
Finally, I finished what I started months ago. Now I can see where I made mistakes trying to improve my initial design of him several times. Those mismatched length and breadth of different parts of his body, ugh… It was hard to see them when I looked at the scheme on the screen, because I could see the full length of it only when it was zoomed out and really small, and when I looked at it in normal scale, I only could see parts of it, and they looked okay to me. So, my attempt to improve the design wasn’t successful. Lotor here is too long, I would even say, unecessary long. But it was a first try of me making him, after all. Nothing is supposed to be perfect from the very beginning, right? ;)
At least I like some things that I “invented” making him:
1) how I finished the work without hanging loose ends of threads (and without the need to tuck them under already existing knots of canvas);
2) the tassel on the cord in the top right corner (which also saved me from the need to tuck those two loose threads under canvas).
Overall, I feel very content with how my Lotor looks.
