Can you do a fic let of robby sneaking dennis snacks and Jack stealing his energy drinks
Absolutely I can! Hopefully you like it!
(i started this as soon as i got it but then got writers block and then got crazy busy with finals week, I'm sorry it took so long!)
(Also it's gonna get to Robby and Jack pretty quickly i promise but I love Trinity so she's also there for a bit 🙂↕️)
This was something Trinity noticed pretty quickly after meeting him. He could, and would, eat like crazy if you placed something in front of him but he very rarely remembered to grab something on his own.
So, when Dennis moved in with her she took it upon herself to keep him alive. She made sure to notice which snacks he favored when they were available and kept them stocked in the apartment. She started carrying around protein bars and the like that she could pass to Dennis during shift. And, despite her incredulity that Dennis could, let alone wanted to, eat that many avocados she made sure to always have them on hand because they seemed, for some weird reason, to be one of the things Dennis would grab for himself.
She gave him shit for it and would never admit that she cared, of course, but she did, so she payed attention when she needed to.
All of this to say, Dennis isn't good at eating, and Trinity noticed. So when he started going out with Robby and Jack, started spending more time at their place, she made sure to mention this. She pulled the two of them away when she was sure Dennis wouldn't notice and told them which snacks he was more likely to grab for himself, which protein bars he seemed to like best, told them about his awful disgusting avocado addiction.
She told them to take care of him.
And they did. Jack would leave out food before he left for his shift so there was always something for Dennis to eat when he got back, and Robby kept snacks on him, or in his locker, and would hand them to Dennis throughout shift. They had a good system going, and little by little Dennis got better at eating regularly.
But the food wasn't the only problem because, as Robby and Jack noticed very quickly into being with Dennis, he had a problem with energy drinks. This, of course, wasn't an issue that Trinity would have mentioned because she had the same issue herself, in fact, they're fairly certain that's where he got a taste for them in the first place. It didn't start as a problem, with the amount of coffee they both drink on shift they can't really comment on caffeine intake, but they started noticing that it wasn't just on shift. That even on their rare days of Dennis would have an energy drink in hand, and eventually they did get worried.
"That's his third one today! That cannot be good for him." Jack said to to Robby in a harsh whisper, both of them glancing over at Dennis, who may or may not have been vibrating slightly.
"I just don't see why he'd want that many. I've tried one before and they taste like shit." Robby commented another time, watching Dennis happily drink what looked to be a new flavor.
They decided that they needed to do something. They had adapted with Dennis' food issues, both of them always carrying snacks at all times now, and they could adapt to this. But they didn't really know where to start.
Jack decided it started with stealing.
He would walk by Dennis casually, asking for a sip of the monster then distracting him with conversation, eventually walking away with the energy drink in hand and Dennis none the wiser, now focusing on something else. (Robby tried to do the same thing a few times but he hated the taste too much to be convincing.)
This worked sometimes but with so many energy drinks in their house it wasn't as if they were causing a shortage, and Dennis would notice if they tried to throw them out.
So, Jack went with the obvious logical solution. He started drinking monster too. It was simple, he would limit himself to only one, having more self-control then Dennis, but then there weren't as many in the house, Dennis had to ration more and therefore couldn't drink as many each day, usually only bringing one to shift.
The natural progression however, that somehow neither Robby or Jack saw coming, was that Jack liked the monsters too. There were a bunch of flavors of types depending on his mood, they were a good energy boost, and Jack wasn't the biggest fan of the stale taste that came with coffee that had cooled, monsters didn't have that problem.
Eventually, Jack wasn't drinking energy drinks to keep them away from Dennis. In fact, him and Dennis would fight consistently about who would get the last one, or the better flavor.
Robby gave a few half-hearted attempts to get them both off of them but after too many failed tries eventually resigned himself to a fridge full of monster energy. He still made sure to keep up with the snacks, so at least they were fixing one bad habit.
