Raven/Kohaku~!✿~

“Talk to monsters? Ah, well I talk to them, but I can’t hear their voices!” She wished she could talk to monsters, that’d be so much fun! Think about all the stories she could hear from them! “But you know,” she started, “I can talk to flowers! I hear the voices of the flowers.”

Kohaku nodded, feeling suddenly melancholy at the thoughts of being a monster, “It’s pretty frightening. I also have a case of amnesia, so that doesn’t help. I feel like there’s a big piece of my life missing…” She shook her head, replacing her frown with a smile, “But I try not to let it get to me! And you’re right! I’m grateful I’m not a monster anymore! If I was still a monster I might not have gotten to meet any of my friends!”

“Oh! Okay!” Kohaku followed Raven, lowering her voice to a whisper, “Oh my goddess. It’s really a fairy!” She stared at the magical creature in awe, her eyes sparkling with wonder.

“Ah, okay… never mind then.  I can talk to monsters.  Well… I can understand them, anyway,” Raven shrugged and looked at Kohaku in surprise.  ”Flowers?  That’s really cool.  What do they say?”

Raven frowned at Kohaku’s story.  ”I’m sorry… that doesn’t sound very nice.  I know two other people who had amnesia and I just can’t imagine how scary not being able to remember things would be.”  She smiled at Kohaku’s positive attitude.  ”It’s really great that you were able to turn back into a person.  I’m happy for you.”

“Yes, there it is,” she nodded, putting her hand out towards the tiny monster.  The faerie looked at the two girls and made a small noise.  ”Hm… she says hello and is asking that we don’t hurt her.  She says she has some friends nearby.”

"You can!?" She stared at Raven with amazement, "That's so cool! What kind of things do you talk about with them?!" Kohaku imagined that there were tons of things to talk about with monsters, but wasn't completely sure. "Ah, well, they just say simple things mostly, like they'll ask me to move them to the shade or they'll tell me they need more water! Most flowers are really sweet, but some are really nasty. Flowers remind me a lot of girls sometimes, the prettier ones get noticed, but sometimes if you look around enough you'll find even prettier flowers, with much better personalities!" She covered up her laugh, but a few giggles still came out, "I guess that's kind of weird though, right? To say girls are like flowers!"

Another person who had amnesia? Kohaku instantly remembered Lest. Her face seemed to sadden, even though she kept a happiness in her tone, "It is scary, but it's also good. You get to kind of start over. I mean I used to be a monster so now I get a chance at being sort of like a human and it's tons of fun!"

"She does!?" Kohaku looked at Raven then to the fiary, "I'd love to meet your friends! And we won't hurt you! You're so beautiful!"

Kohaku! [runs over to her, a smile on her face] Hey, Kohaku! [Holds a small, moving bundle in her arms, and a tiny kitten's head pops out]

Frey!!! *giggle turns into a smile, then she notices the kitten and her eyes grow wide* WHAA~!!! WHO IS THAT!? Can I hold her!? She's so cute~!!! I hope she likes me then we can be friends! *lightly pets the kitten* Would you like to be friends with me little kitty? *giggles* Is she your's Frey? What are you doing walking around with her anyway?

“You used to play tag with them!?” Kohaku frowned with an innocent jealously, “Lucky~ I wish I could play tag with some fairies! I bet it’d be TONS of fun! They sound so nice, I mean if they did slow down for you.” She giggled softly, “If I met a fairy I would have so many questions to ask them.”

At the question, Kohaku nodded, “Ah, yes, well at least that’s what I’ve been told. People tell me that I used to be a monster and it always scares me when I hear those stories. When I think about all the people I might have hurt it just makes my stomach turn…”

“Ah. Raven!” The green haired girl pulled on the blacksmith’s sleeve, pointing in the direction of a small light in the distance, “Is that one!?”

Raven laughed at Kohaku’s response.  ”Yep, I used to play with monsters all the time when I was little.  Faeries just really liked playing tag for some reason,” she smiled.  ”Not all monsters are bad.  They just get upset when you threaten them,” Raven paused and looked at Kohaku.  ”Um… Kohaku, can you talk to monsters, or…?”

“Being a monster is scary, huh?  I… uh, knew someone who could turn into a monster,” Raven shook her head, trying to get rid of the thought.  ”Well at least you’re not one anymore, right?”

Raven, on instinct, jerked her arm back, pulling her sleeve free from Kohaku’s grip.  Looking at the light, she nodded.  ”Yeah, I think so.  Come on, let’s get closer.  As long as you don’t do anything to scare them, they shouldn’t attack or run away.”  She slowly started to walk towards the small monster.

Nori!? -eyes light up- You mean that really pretty girl with the long black hair?! I met her once before! She’s so beautiful, she’s like a flower isn’t she?! -giggles- I’ll ask if she knows how to make one, it’s my problem after all!

Actually, it’s starting to get pretty late, I should head back home soon. -frowns, then smiles- You’ll take good care of Kiku-chan while I’m gone right?!

Ah— It is, isn’t it? -Looks through the window, bearing a mild frown as he notices the sun beginning to set. Looks back to her with a warm smile.- I’ll take only the very best care of her, Miss Kohaku. ♪ —Oh— Would you like for me to walk you home? I’d hate to see a lady leave alone when it’s getting dark, after all…

Ah, have you?! I bet you have tons of Nori stories! -giggles, then smiles- Ah, she is! I don't think I've ever meet such a sweet girl before! I do know a lot of sweet girls, but she's probably the sweetest! How long have you two been friends?

Oh, well...-thinks about being alone in the dark and getting lost, then laughs sheepishly- If it isn't any trouble I think I would feel better if someone walked me home. You know there's lots of scary things that come out at night! -looks over at Kiku- Kiku, will you be okay here by yourself for a little while? -waits and listens to her response- Okay, thank you! I'll be sure to be careful.

“I bet your kids will be really cute~!” She nodded, still hesitant to let Jill do something for her, “Okay, I will! Maybe you can help me paint my shop, because it needs to be re-painted - badly.”

When the two animals come closer Kohaku’s eyes widened with delight and her smile grew, “AWW! They’re so cute!!! Hi, Bessie! Hi, Fluffy!” She waved to them then skipped over and began petting them, “Fluffy is so soft! She’s like giant marshmallow!” She giggled and began showering the animals in compliments.

“Oh gosh, you think so?” Jill chuckled a bit, rubbing the back of her neck. She grinned, nodding at the idea, “Painting your shop? Well sure thing, I can help with that. I’ll just need to pick up supplies and such.”

Jill couldn’t help but laugh at Kohaku’s enthusiasm and cooing. Her animals seemed to enjoy it too, cuddling up to the greenhaired girl, making happy noises. “I think they’re trying to say they appreciate your compliments.” Only her indignant horse didn’t approach the new girl, merely stamping her foot and looking indecisive. “Ah the horse over there is Arcadia. She is a bit… Well let’s just say she’s shy.” The horse seemed to huff at Jill’s statement.

"Well I'm sure of it! If they look like you they'll have to be cute!" She nodded, "Yep! I'm not sure what color to paint it yet. I was thinking pink! Or maybe green! Or blue! There's so many colors! Maybe I should just do them all!" She laughed at the thought of her shop looking like a rainbow.

Kohaku looked back to Jill with a bright smile, "Aw, really?! That makes me so happy~!" She glanced over at the horse, finding it completely adorable that Jill had a shy horse. She slowly approached the horse  offering her hand out to her, "Hiya Arcadia, I'm Kohaku. I won't hurt you. I'm really nice, I promise!"

“Hmm~ That sound really nice.” She smiled sweetly turning her gaze towards the sky, where only a few clouds were floating up above, “Whenever I lay down in a filed of flowers it feels so warm and light, like I’m laying on a cloud. The sweet smells make it really relaxing too! It’s always fun to take naps in a filed of flowers.”

“Oh goodie!” She clapped her hands together, “I cant wait to see one! Even if they’re monsters I’m sure they’re nice! I mean I used to be a monster, but look at me! I’m not bad!”

“Yeah, it was,” Raven nodded, following Kohaku’s lead and looking at the sky.  ”I agree.  It is really relaxing,” she smiled, turning to look at the girl beside her.

“Yes, the faeries were always nice to me.  This might sound weird, but when I was a kid, I used to play tag with them.  They were really fast, but I think they’d slow down a little to make it more fair.” Raven laughed quietly at the memory, but stopped when she heard Kohaku’s last comment.  Her mouth fell open and she looked at the other girl with wide eyes.  ”You… you used to be a monster?”

“I’m happy that your happy~!” The green haired girl laughed, and continued to follow the farmer with a skip in her steps, “I hope they like it! If they don’t you can always keep it for yourself or for your children one day! I bet a small child would love to fall asleep to a calming melody like that!♪”

Kohaku pouted childishly, not fully agreeing to the idea, but not willing to fight over it, “Okaaay. Fine, but I really don’t want anything! The greatest gift of all is friendship !” She nodded with a wide smile, “Yes, Yes!! I want to see them!!!”

Jill smiled at the green haired girl, nodding. “I’m sure they’ll like it. It will be nice though, I could keep it as a heirloom, passing it down the generations. I never had a heirloom before in my family. You know if I ever do have kids one day.” Jill grinned, feeling victorious. “While I agree to that, it’s just feels good to do something for a friend. So let me know what I can do, okay?” She whistled to her animals, her cow and sheep wandering over to her first. “The cow is Bessie and this sheep is Fluffy. You can pet them~”

“Oh yes! I love those as well!” She nodded in agreement, “Flowers always seem to have a calming ability to them! Whenever I see one it makes me feel happier and more relaxed! Oh, Raven have you ever lied down in a filed of flowers?!”

Kohaku looked back at Raven, a little confused to way she pulled away so harshly, but she was used to people reacting that way when she grabbed them. Her smile grew as she listened to what Raven had to say, “Wha~? Really? Do you think you can help me find them!? I know it’s not summer, but maybe they come out during winter too!!!”

“Yes… they are rather calming.  They remind me of one of my old homes.  There were many flowers growing nearby,” she smiled, remembering one of the many houses she had grown up it.  She nodded, “I have.  There is a large field of flowers just outside Sharance, and I go there often.  I like it a lot.”

“Yeah, sure… I could show you.  They are just monsters, though.  Not actually fairies,” she shrugged.  ”I used to play with them a lot when I was younger, actually.  They only come out in autumn, but the valley that we can find them in never changes seasons, so I’m sure they will be easy to find.”

“It is a nice job! It’s the best job there is!” Kohaku’s smile went down as she began to think more about it, “Well, I suppose any job would be a nice job depending on how much you liked it, right? Oh and my favorite is…” She ran through all the flowers in her mind, but just picking one wouldn’t be fair. There’s so much to like about each one, “Umm, I don’t really know, I guess one of my favorites would have to be tulips, but you know magic flowers are really pretty too~!”

“Good! Then follow me~” She grabbed Raven’s arm and began pulling her outside, humming a up beat medley as she skipped down the path. She turned her head back to look at Raven, “Hey, have you ever seen a fairy?! I read once that fairies come out during the summer time just as night begins, but that sounds kind of silly. I keep wondering if it’s true. I’ve never seen a fairy before, but I’d really like to! What about you, Raven?”

Raven nodded.  ”Yes, I like my job very much as well,” she said, smiling slightly.  ”Hm… other than toyherbs, I really like moondrops and pink cats as well.  Basically any flowers that are easy to grow and appear in large numbers.”

She was surprised by Kohaku’s sudden grip on her arm.  Once the shock wore off, she jerked her arm back, successfully freeing it from the other girl’s hand.  She quickly glared at the back of Kohaku’s head before her expression returned to normal.  Putting her hands in her pockets, she looked straight ahead.  ”Well… there are monsters called faeries in the valley east of here,” she shrugged.  ”I don’t know if that is what you are talking about, but… those are the only fairies I can think of.  I spent many nights outside as a young girl and I’ve never seen one…”
