I wish I could eat rocks and shiny things, oh to swallow a star and become a vessel of light.
Behold my collection full of shiny friends
What are rocks if not the tears of joy that once fell from God's eyes.

Did you know, you can take a Harvard computer science class...for free?
CS50x is a free online introduction to computer science course, featuring recorded lectures of an actual Harvard class, along with all the assignments, access to a cloud-based development environment, and supplemental material to help you. This is all completely free, and all at your own pace.
Now, the only catch is if you want a "verified certificate" of your completion of the course, it will cost about $150. You will still receive a digital certificate, but the verified certificate has an extra layer of authenticity, if you plan on using it professionally. Whether that's necessary, your mileage may vary. But all in all, still a relatively cheap price, and you can upgrade at any time.
I can't think of any resource for learning computer science and programming better than this. Even if you struggle with the concepts, there are many other people and resources around the internet to help you with this class specifically. If you've never written a line of code, or how computers work is a complete mystery to you, this class is still for you. Seriously, give it a try.

Good Commenting Practice
I just read this article on stack overflow and summarized it (so you don't have to):
1. Do not duplicate what your code is doing. On a similar note, do not comment every single line of your code.
2. Do not provide information that should be given by the code. For example, do not use comments to explain what a variable holds if you can't tell simply by looking at the variable name (just use better variable names.
3. If you can't write a clear comment for a piece of code, then there is either a problem with the code or you don't understand what exactly the code is doing.
4. Make sure your comments clear up confusion caused by the code, not amplify it.
5. Use comments to explain code that may seem extra or redundant to someone else reading that code, but is necessary.
6. If you copy code from somewhere else, make sure to include exactly what the code does and where it was copied from (even better if you include URL).
7. If helpful, then include links to external references.
8. Add comments when fixing bugs. Include what the bug was and how it was fixed.
9. Use TODO to mark places where code is still incomplete.
While there are many resources to help programmers write better code—such as books and static analyzers—there are few for writing better com

my friend just told me that there's a secret second dashboard that solely contains posts from people you've turned on post notifications for, and when i click the link in the messages it opens it within the tumblr app, so the tumblr app also has a secret second dashboard for post notification blogs, and the only way to access it is to open the link for it within the app.
i literally love tumblr
i have a private pinned post that just has a link to this dashboard on it, it's great. two dashboards for life
wow! i was really hoping someone would organically reverse-engineer this and find that dash.
here are a few other "secret" dashboards:
Posts from your "crushes"
"What you missed" (will be empty if you already visit Tumblr every day)
"Trending"
these are all just taking existing feeds of content and putting them in a dashboard-like format... the "Stuff for you" tab/feed is the same idea.

If you had the grooming habits of a Neanderthal, perhaps it's a good thing your nose wasn't as sensitive to urine and sweat as a modern human's.
If you had the grooming habits of a Neanderthal, perhaps it’s a good thing your nose wasn’t as sensitive to urine and sweat as a modern human’s.
And if you lived the hunting and gathering lifestyle of a Denisovan on the Asian steppes, your strong nose for energy-rich honey was almost certainly an advantage.
Though we can’t really know what these two extinct human species perceived or preferred to eat, a new study from Duke University scientists has figured out a bit more about what they might have been able to smell.
Using a technique they developed that allows researchers to test smell sensitivity on odor receptors grown in a lab dish, researchers Claire de March of CNRS Paris Saclay University and Hiroaki Matsunami of Duke University were able to compare the scents-abilities of three kinds of humans. Their work appeared Dec. 28 in the open access journal iScience.
