Chewing on the idea of a god 4c au. The concept is that, long after the events of Bannerfall, 4c stops being alive. It’s not a single moment where he dies, he just sort of… fades away. And instead of following the Rogue God to the afterlife, his ghost stays in Bannerfall. Without being under the power of the Rogue God, 4c gradually starts to change, eventually becoming the God of Hope, not a person in the world of the living, but able to interact with it and inextricably part of it. Idk if I’ll write this into a fic or just post pieces of it on tumblr but here’s my character concept

Talk circulated of a person wandering around the kingdoms of Bannerfall, appearing and speaking to those in despair. No one knew where he lived, if he was even alive at all.

He was a slime, bright blue that refracted sunlight and seemed to glow subtly even in darkness. He wore brown rags, worn out and torn at the knees. On his chest, just barely uncovered by his tunic, were four dark scars, like cracks in his surface. There were short, tarnished gold chains hanging from each of his wrists, rusted and broken. He carried a large morningstar mace, the tips of some of the spikes crusted with small amounts of blue.

If you asked his name, he said he didn’t remember. If you asked who he was, he simply called himself Hope.

I also wanna give a shoutout to this post by @poppitron360 for making me have Thoughts about the Bannerfall afterlife. I have been munching on that post ever since I saw it and it was definitely an inspiring factor in creating this au.
