my girlfriend picked up the snails water bowl today and realised we are now the grandmothers of about ten million baby snails (๑′ᴗ‵๑)

these are albino giant african land snails and yes they are the cutest thing you will see today

He started out chasing them, but after a couple of hours he calmed down and left them alone.

Went to the fish store today and find out that half the plants I bought at petco and petsmart need high levels of light, and the light that I have is essential crap. So, I bought a new light and some new plants to replace the ones that died. I can't wait till they grow and fill the tank!

Cleaned up my fishtank at work today! it is getting a little overgrown but I like it :) 

Im thinking about growing some plants up and out of the top of it but who knows! for now im sure ill just enjoy it as is and think about adding some red stems for fun!

My tank is finally cycled! After 2-3 weeks of daily water changes im glad I can change to one change a week.

I tested Kolokythi’s ammonia, nitrite and nitrate levels today. The ammonia was lower than it had been but the nitrite levels were outrageous. I did like a 25% water change and I’ll test them again in the morning.

Does anyone have an idea of why the nitrite spiked so high?

The tank is still cycling I’m guessing. Be very careful!! Nitrites are even more toxic than ammonia. You need to do regular water changes!
