The penicillin factory is a sprawling, abandoned complex on the outskirts of Rome. The first thing I noticed when Italian photographer Maurizio Martorana and I visited in November 2018 was the trash. Stacks of T-shirts, juice cartons, plastic plates, clothes racks, and bicycle parts. A path led through a series of buildings, and against every wall was a makeshift shack. At the time, some 500 people, the majority of them African migrants and refugees, lived there amid the debris.

The second floor of the factory was covered with shit—with no working plumbing, people had nowhere else to defecate. The street-side windows looked out on a tennis club. Throughout the grounds were small shops selling beer, toothpaste, and basic cooking supplies. The ground was muddy and contained chemicals and asbestos leftover from the factory’s manufacturing days.

Over the past year, depending on your perspective and politics, the penicillin factory had become either proof that there were too many foreigners in the country or a symbol of the country’s failure to respond humanely to migrants. During the day, a fascist group called CasaPound marched outside protesting, while at night, health outreach vans run by aid groups provided medical services.

Across Italy, some 10,000 migrants and refugees are living in squats. In search of shelter, many have joined vulnerable Italians in occupying empty buildings. The housing crisis is not an accident. It is part of a deliberate strategy by the government to make Italy as inhospitable to migrants and refugees as possible.

On December 10, 2018, Matteo Salvini, the deputy prime minister and interior minister belonging to the far-right party the League, stood outside the factory as police entered and cleared it of residents. CasaPound, which had led a public campaign for the eviction, celebrated. But the paradox is that they themselves are squatters. CasaPound took over an empty office building in the center of Rome in 2003 and has housed people there ever since. This incongruence, between the penicillin factory eviction and inaction against CasaPound, is another example of how Italy’s far right is increasingly driving public opinion and policy on immigration. In late November, Salvini’s government passed a new law called the Security and Immigration Decree, but referred to by almost everyone in Italy as the “Salvini Decree.” It radically changed the Italian asylum system; eliminating the category of “humanitarian protection,” a form of protection given to people who are deemed to have “serious reasons” to flee their home country and cannot be deported. Since 2008, some 120,000 asylum-seekers in Italy have received this status.

Although immigrants comprise only 8 percent of Italy’s population, Salvini rails against “the invasion” and has blocked rescue ships from landing at Italian ports (“porti chiusi,” he likes to brag on Twitter and Instagram, meaning “harbors closed”). Despite the fact that, since 2014, the share of crimes committed by foreigners is decreasing within every single region in Italy, anti-immigrant sentiment, stoked by Salvini’s government, is at a dangerous, all-time high.

Italy’s current populist government came to power in March 2018. It is an unusual coalition between Salvini’s the League, which ran on a platform of “prima gli italiani,” or “Italians first,” and the anti-establishment Five Star Movement, led by Luigi Di Maio; the latter had never held national office.

The League, formerly the Northern League, used to call for the state of Padania to secede from Italy. A few years ago, it revamped itself as a nationalist party that was against immigration (during the election campaign, Salvini pledged to deport 500,000 migrants), the European Union, and austerity policies. The Five Star Movement, founded in 2009 by Italian comedian Beppe Grillo, also capitalized on growing discontent against traditional political parties with an eclectic platform of ideas pulled from across the political spectrum, such as advocating for a universal basic income and questioning Italy’s participation in the eurozone.

Before the election, the Five Star Movement said it would never form a coalition with the League because it was too far to the right. (Italy essentially has a proportional representation system, whereby parties need to form a coalition after the election if one party does not have a substantial majority of votes.) However, after an attempt to form a government with the center-left Democratic Party failed, the Five Star Movement proceeded to do exactly that. Although Five Star initially had more public support, with 32 percent of the vote compared to the League’s 17 percent, it has proved inept at governing, and over the past few months has lost many of its left-leaning voters. Meanwhile, the more experienced League has overtaken Five Star in popularity, as its base responds to Salvini’s anti-immigration stunts. By November 2018, support for his party had jumped to 34 percent.

The rise of the far right was not sudden in Italy, where the 2008 global financial crisis and subsequent economic slowdown was particularly severe. Under Silvio Berlusconi, the billionaire media tycoon who served as Italy’s prime minister four times, Italy borrowed large sums to stem the crisis’s effects; public debt leapt from an already sizable 103 percent of GDP in 2007 to nearly 127 percent by 2012. Proving inept at handling the crisis, Berlusconi was forced out in 2011—but not before he had paved the way for Salvini by forming coalitions with the League when he was in office and calling migrants a “time bomb.”

After Berlusconi, the government of Mario Monti, a former European commissioner, ushered in austerity measures such as cutting social spending and raising taxes. The effect on many Italian households was stark. The relative poverty rate crept upward, from 13.6 percent in 2008 to 15.8 percent in 2012, while household consumption plummeted to 1997 levels. As in much of Southern Europe, rising inequality and resentment of ongoing austerity measures—viewed by many as externally imposed by leaders in France and Germany—fueled populist sentiment and euroskepticism. The government failed to address growing resentment among the public.

Now Salvini has made attacking refugees and migrants a cornerstone of his politics (he also goes after feminists, gay people, journalists, and leftists, or “ticks,” the term used by Salvini). At the same time, Italy has seen a resurgence of support for fascism. Fascist ideology, always simmering on the margins of Italian politics, has acquired a growing respectability in political debates as a plausible alternative.

CasaPound, whose name references the pro-Mussolini American poet Ezra Pound, is a political party that calls its members “fascists of the third millennium.” It has proved adept at attracting young Italians, opening centers across Italy where young people can play sports, party (they throw raves), and hang out. The party claims poor and middle-class Italians have been left behind by a supposed preferential focus on migrants, provides social services in disadvantaged areas, and protests for housing rights. CasaPound’s supporters are predominately male and young. They are adamantly against a multiracial society and groups that advocate for human rights.

CasaPound does not have any representatives in parliament, and only holds local elected office in Ostia, a suburb of Rome. But its membership is expanding, and the group has a growing presence on college campuses. As of 2017, CasaPound had 20,000 members and 110 centers across the country, and many credit its media-savvy tactics with pushing the government farther to the right. Although Salvini has tried to distance himself from the group since ascending to power, he has a history with the organization. In 2014, the Northern League and CasaPound created a movement called Sovereignty to mobilize CasaPound’s supporters to vote for the League; there are pictures of Salvini dining with CasaPound leaders in 2015.

GOATMOON + MARDER, Turun seudulla, lauantaina 11.2.2017

Suomen tämän hetken ehkä kohutuin black metal nimi Goatmoon piti uuden albuminsa Stella Polaris (suom. pohjantähti) julkaisukeikan koleassa sydäntalven Varsinais-Suomessa. Tällä kertaa järjestelmän pikku apulaisina toimivat varikset ja muut äärivasemmistolaiset raakkujat eivät järjestäneet some-kampanjaa anniskeluravintolaa vastaan ehkä siksi, että komukyylät eivät yksinkertaisesti tienneet mistä paikkaa etsiä. Matkalla keikkapaikalle tuttavani epäili, että punahäiriköiden matala profiili ennen konserttia johtui yksinkertaisesti siitä, että kulmakunnan Antifa oli ripulipaskat housuissa sammunut kiljuämpärinsä äärelle jo iltakuudelta. Arviossa lienee perää, sillä illan aikana ravintola ei saanut uhkauspuheluita eikä uhoavia tarrojakaan näkynyt lähiympäristössä.

Saapuessamme paikalle seitsemän jälkeen ravintolassa oli jo mukavasti porukkaa. Myyntipöydältä tarttui Stella Polaris vinyyli LP, jonka painos oli myyjän mukaan kovaa vauhtia loppumassa. Tuttujen moikkailua ja seurustelua kesti vajaa tunti kunnes lauteille astui hatecore-jyrä Marder, joka takoi neljähenkiseksi kutistuneella keikkakokoonpanollaan tiukan 15 biisin setin ilman turhia jaaritteluita. Ryminän aloitti debyyttilevyltä tuttu avaus ”You can’t buy tomorrow”, jonka perään soi samalta levyltä livenä harvoin kuultu ”Cunt liberation”. Muita ensimmäiseltä levyltä kuultuja purkauksia olivat ”Last sight”, ”Anti-you assault crew” (eli ”Anti-Jew”), yleisön suosikki ”Kultainen aamunkoitto”, ”Flood gates” ja keikan päättänyt ”Patriot”. Uutta materiaalia ohjelmistossa edustivat ”Unabomber”, ”Antichrist”, ”Moonlight”, ”Isis”, ”Afa” ja ”Dippidie”.

Keikkasetissä saatiin kuulla myös laulaja Aleksin ensimmäinen bändille tekemä kappale ”Mellakka”, joka jo nimensä mukaisesti eteni raivoisasti ja sai yleisöltä hyväksyvän vastaanoton voitontervehdyksineen. Kappaleessa oli jotain samaa totaalista henkeä kuin hc-bändi Kaaoksen samannimisessä esityksessä (ilm.1982), mutta siinä missä Jakken rääkymä biisi kertoi anarkistisesta päiväunelmasta, Marderin ylvään fasistisessa sodanjulistuksessa oli mukana katu-uskottavuutta.

Kuten aina, Marderin keikalla huomio kiinnittyy helposti vain showpuolesta vastaavaan laulajaan ja vimmaisesti paukuttelevaan rumpali BlackGoatiin (Goatmoonin laulaja), vaikka tanakasta livesoundista ovat päävastuussa eleettömät puurtajat kitaristi Mika ja basisti TP. Varsinkin Mikalle pitää antaa propsit, sillä harvoin yhdellä kitaralla saa livenä aikaan niin jäätävää kitaravallia.

Arviolta pikkutuopin mittaisen tauon jälkeen lavalle rynni illan pääesiintyjä Goatmoon täydessä black metal -sotisovassa. Keikan aloitti mutkattomasti rokkaava esitys ”Puiden tuolla puolen”. Sitä seurasivat varmaksi havaitut livesuosikit ”Son of the Northwind” ja ”Voitto tai Valhalla” -kappaleen osat I ja II, jonka jälkeen päästiin hetkeksi uuden materiaalin pariin, kun ilmoille raikasi Stella Polaris -albumin nimikappale. Uunituoreelta levyltä ei tämän lisäksi kuultu muuta kuin jo nyt klassikoksi noussut ”Kansojen hävittäjä” ja ”Wolf Night”. Yleisölle ei näyttänyt olevan mitään sitä vastaan, että bändi soitti myös suositun kakkoslevynsä ikivihreitä kuten ”Finnish Steel Storm”, ”Alone” ja ”Eclipsed by Raven Wings”, sillä näiden aikana lavan edusta täyttyi roomalaisista tervehdyksistä. Hieno tapaa kiittää bändiä ja pyhää asiaa!

Kansallisen mytologian ja rodun myyttien äärellä operoiva yhtye ei tälläkään kertaa pitänyt esitysten välillä poliittisia palopuheita, koska sellaiseen ei ole tarvetta. Kaikki läsnäolijat tiedostivat, että Goatmoonin musiikki ja lavaolemus ovat politiikan tuolla puolen, suuremmissa asioissa, vaikka juuri se saa näyttämään yhtyeen erityisen vaaralliselta sen poliittisen vihollisen silmissä. Epäilemättä Goatmoon on rock- ja pop-viihteen konsensukselle epämieluisa outolintu, koska se ei kumarru vallalla olevalle liberaalihumanistiselle etnomasokismille.

Kokonaisuudessaan tapahtuma todisti, että Pohjolan miehet ja naiset eivät ole antautumassa henkistä syfilistä huokuvalle Kalin ajalle. Tiikerillä aioitaan ratsastaa myös aivan lähiaikoina, sillä tuleva maaliskuu tarjoaa lukuisia tilaisuuksia osallistua isänmaallisiin kulttuuritapahtumiin.

This is the original English version of exclusive interview of Camazotz ( SPEAR OF LONGINUS, Australia). A translated interview was first published in Finnish zine Ukonvasama 1/2016. Interviewed by Graf Völker. Despite most of our content is in Finnish, Veriyhteys thought it would be good opportunity to publish original Englisg version here.

1.Greetings Camazotz, how are things going down under?

About the same as anywhere else on planet shit I rekon mate, a pack of fuqqin wankers running round doing a whole bunch of nothing thinking they are the shit.

2.Do You still adhere to NS Ideology? In any interpretation.

Some people say I’m a complex person …… but yes I defiantly have  an aspect that is NS, I really don’t give a shit if its “cool” “uncool”  or what fuqqin ever. I think if more cunts on planet shit were a bit more honest things wouldnd be so shit.

You can see aspects of NS in all sorts of political/religious/philosophical spectrums.

Thoughts about that quote?

That’s probably indicative of the different bloodline cultures, Italy traces directly back to ancient Rome and while Rome did have a great warrior ethos it also had a great politic structure which comes with all its intrigue and backstabbing to look after onself at all costs type attitude, sometimes veiled in one house versus another “honour war”, you see this outlook all through Roman/Italian culture. This was probably magnified through Fascism (mafiosa mentality), I like aspects of  fascism though.

Italy has been corrupted by “the modern world” for a longer time too. Or maybe we should just blame Greece? The origin of all modern shit.

As far as Germanic culture goes, for all the talk of freedoms etc they tend to follow rules and submit to process and leadership, whether that be good or bad. At the moment to the nations detriment. I like NS as well. To be extremely general. Not two peas in the one pod, but two pods on the same vine.

4.Symbols have allways been important to man. What symbols hold special meaning to you?

Just about all of them I guess.

Runes, black sun, deaths head, symbols of mortality, celtic frost heptagram, these things are iconic and lead/reveal much much more the longer one works with them.

Coloured swastikas a quite the favourite.

Only death is real, no truer words have been spoken.

5.Could You name some writers, thinkers, philosophers, activists etc. who have influenced your worldview and actions most profoundly?

Fuck were do you start?

Nietzsche, Crowley, ONA, TBO, First generation death/thrash/blaq metal, second generation punk like The Exploited etc, Bon, antient gnostic sects that said FTW, science, ……..

Just about anything really, even the shit that you despise influences so you need to be mindfull of that as well. You need to learn from all activists, even though most are full of shit! They can be grand psychologists/organisers/manipulators.

6.What artists/bands have been the most important influence in the music of SOL, from the beginning to this day, and other of Your musical activities?

The usual shit, Celtic Frost, Bathory, Sodom, Hellhammer, Possessed, Mayhem, Darkthrone, Destruction etc etc you get the picture. I rarely listn to “new” music, the old stuff still has not been exhausted as far as I’m concerned, it still inspires just like it first did, and the pioneering aspect can’t be over emphasized, it was a totally different world back then, they are the kings of audacity and will.

Anti nowhere league, rage against the machine,  system of a down, deathgrips, slayer, public enemy, motley crue, tom waits,sadist execution,  the prodigy, morbid angel, merciful fate, masters hammer, ccr, gary numan, devo, blasphemy, bolt thrower, carnivore, Christian death, the dandy warhols Blah blah blah

7.What in Thelema inspires you the most?

There is no god but man.

Nothing.

Sadly all these self appointed “thelemic” institutions are just that, controlling “religious” institutions producing institutionalized morons that “know everything” nothing could be more abominable or old aeonic. Thelema is rebellion, it is growth.

The word of sin is restriction.

It is the crushing of everything worthless into dust.

8.You seem to follow a quite rigorous training program to keep fit. What would be a good weekly routine to stay in a all-around good state physically, in your opinion?

Depends on what you want and who you are etc

I’m currently working an 8 day cycle. Around 3hours a day.

Day1 , morning run, olymic lifts, bag work/conditioning/

Day2, morning run(weight vest), indian clubs etc, tai chi/yoga

Day3, mountain walk/explore, gym rings/climbing/balance work, bagwork/conditiing/

Day4, mountain bike, indian clubs etc, taichi/yoga

Day5, motorcycle ride, full body sand bag workout, bag work/conditioning/

Day6, swordwork, indian clubs etc, taichi/yoga

Day7, morning run, kettle bell workout, bag work/conditioning/

Day8, morning run (vest), indian clubs etc, taich/yoga.

No days off, every second day is an easy day, also do all the usual meditations etc.

9.Any thoughts about “Operation Werewolf”?

Sounds like a plan to me.

10.To my knowledge, the only “musical” project You’re involved at the moment, is Urban Magus. What is the purpose and modus operandi of this audial experimentation?

The challenge is to do everything in a minimalist fashion, spend no money etc. Every performance is a one off experience never to be repeated. Sometimes noise, sometimes magical operation, sometimes abuse, whatever.

11.At the time of releasing “Nazi occult metal” demo, you propably didn’t think it would have such an impact on the underground. What are you’re thoughts about this demo all these years later?

Dunno about all that.

You just gotta do what you gotta do.

As I’ve said before, its probably the purest thing we did, before any forms/expectations  were projected at us and the inevitable “concessions” we all invariably make in day to day shit existence of planet shit and its maggots.

Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law.

Do that and no other shall say nay.

12.TYONS, how was your mindset during the recording of that album? Some mentions about a “yoga phase” in somewhere… I understand that equipment and conditions in the studio was not the best.. But in this album you dive most deeply into the esoterics. Could You elaborate the consepts in the lyrics?

Psychosis and depression.

13.Would you ever have thought that NS-themed black metal would have formed to genre within a genre? As there was in the 90’s allready bands and releases with “nazi themes”.

And here’s me thinking it was NS white metal! Ha ha

Well why not? You can only suppress shit for so long, we all have the right to live how we will, I don’t care what anyone says, no cunts going to pontificate to me how I should exist, left – right or what fuqqin ever, FTW. You cant stop anyone from exploring reality in all its forms, that’s about as old aeon as you can get, I’m a libertarian at heart, not a bleeding heart lefty but a libertarian, no ones going to control me if I”ve got anything to say about it. It just so happens that the NS movement ( and others it allied with)was the last fist in the face of god and her whores of control factions, smash the delusion I say. I mean fuck just look at what we have to deal with now after the “good” guys won, all this cultural Marxist bullshit, it’s fuqqen sickening how people can be so stoopid. Muppets. Lets just get on with it and leave the shit where it is.

14.NS-themes in black metal (or in any musicstyle) just as a shock tactic and not really holding belief in them, opinion?

Yeah, standard bullshit we all need to see through, but hey, it WILL awaken some people regardless !

Use the illusion as the saying goes.

15.On “Nada Brahma” EP, we can find a song named “Antero Vipunen (Ingods trance hour)”. In Kalevala, the finnsih national epos, Antero Vipunen is a giant who battles with Väinämöinen, a half-god/shaman, about the ownership to knowing words to spells. How did this song came about? Have You read Kalevala and do/did you have it on your bookshelf?

Yeah, read it and own a copy someplace ……..

16.Latest release of SOL was the split 7inch with Satanachist, “Rebirth of the Luciferian Light”.  Those two songs were recorded allready some years ago but not released to public until that time, correct? Any old SOL unreleased songs still in the archives to some day see the light of day?

That’s correct, they sat around for ages, I kinda lost interest in shit for a while there.

There are more tracks from the same vintage laying round, recorded and not. I’d rather move forward though, we’ll see.

17.Has the co-operation with DTBrexs been easy with all these re-releases?

A breeze, Hendrik is great to work with.

Don’t know how he puts up with me and my lack of earth element actually!

He did it all, I just said OK do it!

18.SOL never performed live outside of oz, correct?

Correct.

19.Is there any possibility of SOL having a full line-up, and once again performing live, even here in Finland, if the right requirements are met?

It’s possible, I do feel something might happen.

I live back in Brisbane now where the crew live, it feels about time to be active again, so who am I to argue?

No rush.

I think there is a bit of a ripple running through the “old guard’ at the moment, on a few levels.

20.In an older interview (by NS Kampfer), You once said that “blue eyed devils…. rip like hell.i love that old nyhc kinda stuff. what i call real kundalini musik.”. Still listen to HardCore? Feelings toward punk musik in general? Favorite releases?

Ha ha funny you should ask, that very cd is sitting in my car stereo right  now! Sometimes punk is more metal than metal, we all know that! Discharge, Agnostic Front all the way up to first gen Grind, love it. Even if half of these sad sacks got the philosophy all wrong the music is great! Anti nowhere league, Crass, but I like all kinds of music/sounds. The old DIY look/attitude is what its about. today, everyone WANTS to fuqqing conform, I just don’t get it.

Blood, Fire Death – Bathory, now there is an album that has it all! Uncompromising/harsh/raw/punk/metal/fucking hate, will,love/articulate/old-new production  …. etc

21.To Mega Therion or Obsessed by Cruelty?

21.Do you follow the OZ ug-metal scene at all? If so, what current OZ bands you would recommend to finnish maniacs?

22.We’ve had a little talk about kangaroo hunting before. What method do you use to hunt this bouncy pest of the southlands, and what’s the most tasty way of cooking it? Recipes?

Just shoot the cunts mate, but when we lived in central Western Australia the locals used to just run the things down with their cars out in the desert, or pick up the road kill, they do that a lot.

Fuqqind dusty old shitbox cars with dents all over them from running down roos! Fuqqin flies ……

I just do a gulash/stew kinda thing mate, but that’s  here in servileliesation, out the bush you chuck the tail under some coals and do it that way.

Itsenäisyyspäivän konsertti, 10.12.2016, Suur-Helsinki: Obłęd (Puola), P.W.A. (Viro), Vapaudenristi, Urban Threat

Vielä pari vuotta sitten maansa myyneen valtiokoneiston suojeluksessa olevat vasemmistovandaalit hallitsivat itsenäisyyspäivänä pääkaupunkimme julkista tilaa, mutta onneksi tähän riekkumiseen on tullut pysyvä muutos: nyt kadut kuuluvat isänmaanystäville eikä niitä aiota enää luovuttaa takaisin kansanvihollisille! Yksikään kansallismielinen ei voi enää vedota siihen, että itsenäisyyspäivänä ei ole tilaisuuksia, joissa juhlistaa kansamme kunniakasta menneisyyttä ja tulevaisuutta. Hän, joka kokee olevansa soturi, jolla on rohkeutta haastaa kosmopoliittinen globaalieliitti ja Systeemille työtä tekevät vasemmistoräähkät, marssi Pohjoismaisen vastarintaliikkeen lippujen alla. Hän, jolle riittää kunnioituksen antaminen menneiden sukupolvien työlle, liittyi tuhansiiin nousevaan 612-soihtukulkueeseen. Valinnanvaraa siis on ja monet patriootit osallistuivatkin molempiin tilaisuuksiin.

Menestyksekkään kansallismielisen viikon päätti Suur-Helsingin alueella lauantaina pidetty perinteinen itsenäisyyspäivän konsertti. Vaikka tapahtuman käytännön järjestelyistä vastasi Club 28 ja Crew 38, oli tilaisuus avoin kaikille nationalisteille, jotka halusivat juhlia toistaiseksi menetetyn itsenäisyytemme 99:ää vuotta. Yleisön joukossa oli myös muiden maiden patriootteja, jotka tervehtivät maatamme ja joille vastaavasti suomalaiset osoittivat valkoista solidaarisuutta. Käymieni keskusteluiden ja kuulohavaintojen perusteella paikalla oli porukkaa ainakin Puolasta, Italiasta, Yhdysvalloista, Venäjältä ja Virosta. Suomen historiallisen itsenäisyyden muistelu on syytä nähdä nykyään laajemmassa yhteydessä, koska kaikkia Euroopan kansoja uhkaa suvereeniteetin menetys samojen vihollisten taholta; veljessodat kuuluvat menneisyyteen ja vain yhdessä olemme riittävän vahvoja kohtaamaan valkoista maailmaa kohtaavat haasteet.

Viime vuoden tapaan paikka oli buukattu lähes täyteen, mikä kertoo siitä, että RAC elää ja voi hyvin vuoden 2016 Suomessa. On myös syytä muistuttaa, että kansallismieliset konsertit eivät ole pelkkiä musiikkitapahtumia, vaan ne ovat yhtä lailla tilaisuuksia, joissa voi verestää vanhoja tuttavuuksia ja solmia uusia. Tällaiseen kanssakäymiseen oli hyvä mahdollisuus etenkin ennen keikan alkua. Tarjolla oli myös levymyyntipiste, josta musiikinnälkäiset saattoivat täydentää kokoelmiaan.

Iloinen puheensorina peittyi aikataulun mukaisesti klo 20.00 jälkeen, kun joulukattauksen ensimmäinen bändi, Kuopion suunnalta tuleva RAC-coverbändi Urban Threat löi tapahtuman ensitahdit Fortress-klassikolla ”I hate commie scum”. Tiukasti yhteen soittaneen savolaisorkan setti oli todellista hittiparaatia varsinkin kun kansaa kiihottava energinen vokalisti pääsi huudattamaan yleisöä Mistreatilla (”Rotat”, ”Troubles”), Weisse Wölfillä (”Time for Vengeage”), Skrewdriverillä (”Streetfight”) ja No Remorsella. Vauhdikkaan rupeaman päätti Cock Sparrer -mukaelma ”Finland belongs to me”, joka sai lavan edustalla mukavasti liikettä aikaan, etenkin paikalle eksyneissä Pietarin natsipunk-tytöissä.

Koska illan aikana soitti peräti neljä bändiä, esitysten väliset tauot ymmärrettiin jättää kiitettävän lyhyiksi. Ehkä tiukan aikatalaulun vuoksi Vapaudenristi soitti tavallista lyhyemmän setin, eikä se siten voinut tarjota yllättäviä covereita tai uusi biisejä, vaan materiaali keskittyi pääasiassa viimeisimmän albumin Ikuinen kuolema kappaleisiin. Ensimmäisenä vetona oli levyn aloitusraita ”Wotanin pedot”, joka saikin suuren osan yleisöstä hyökymään lavan eteen. Samalta levyltä soitettiin ainakin ”Hiipuva Loiste, ”Ikuinen Kuolema”, ”Ilta ulkona” ja ”Myytti–Symboli–Rituaali”. Varhaisemmasta tuotannosta tukeuduttiin varmoihin hitteihin kuten ”Maa ja veri”, ”Ei maata ilman kansaa” ja konsertin teemaan sopiva ”Soihdut”.  

Huolimatta siitä, että yleisö oli täysillä mukana koko Vapaudenristin keikan ajan, esitys oli soitannollisesti ehkä heikoin näkemäni bändiltä. Kaikille muusikoille tulee joskus huonoja iltoja ja nyt Musta-Pekan sai käteen bändin kitaristi-laulaja Mikko A. Parissa kohtaa hän unohti kappaleiden sanat, mutta eniten korvaan särähti kitarasoolot, joissa oli ajottain kiusallista takeltelua. Tilannetta ei parantanut se, että ennen viimeistä kappaletta kitarasta katkesi kieli. Lopussa seisoi kuitenkin roomalainen voiton tervehdys, jonka yleisö antoi koko salin täydeltä, kun bändi veti raivoisalla tahdon voimalla sodanjulistuksen ”Mies aikaa vastaan”. Viimeinen kappaleen sisuuntunut puristus oli niin tunteella ladattu, että keikasta jäi lopulta hyvä maku suuhun.

Illan yksi odotetuimmista vieraista oli virolainen Preserve White Aryans eli P.W.A., joka on omien laskujeni mukaan vieraillut maassamme viimeksi yli viisi vuotta sitten, jolloin yhtye soitti Bound for Gloryn lämppärinä Helsingin ytimessä. Jälleennäkemisen riemu oli molemminpuolinen kun suomea taitava kitaristi-laulaja Jaanus kehoitti voimasanojen saattelemana yleisöä juhlimaan Suomen itsenäisyyttä. Kuten muidenkin bändien kohdalla PWA:n livesoundi oli onnistuneen tasapainoinen, eikä mikään soitin jäänyt muiden varjoon tai olisi muutoin kuulunut huonosti.

Hyväntuulinen bändi polkaisi oman pestinsä käyntiin esityksellä ”Marching on”, jonka jälkeen ei sitten hengähdystaukoja pidettykään. Pitissä mylly pyöri vimmatusti ja Jaanus näytti innostuneen villistä menosta itsekin niin paljon, että pukkasi eräässä vaiheessa päällään mikrofonin pois ständistä. Eurooppaa vuosikausia kiertäneen yhtyeen soitannollinen varmuus huokui koko esityksestä kuin myös taito viihdyttää yleisöä ja tarttua spontaanisti hetkeen. Illan muiden bändien tapaan myös PWA:n biisilista koostui valinnoista, jotka saavat varmuudella yleisössä vibaa punttiin ja oikean kainalon tuulettumaan. Ämyreistä raikuivat ainakin kappaleet ”Skinheads are in town”, ”Never surrender”, ”Riot girl”, ”Resist the System” ja”Fight now!”. Fascistisen riemujuhlan tunnelman yleisössä sytytti klassikko jo syntyessään eli ”Brothernations”, jota tuli huudattamaan myös Urban Threatin laulaja. Muutama cover-biisikin vedettiin kuten Skrewdriverin ensimmäiseltä LP:tä tuttu ”I don’t like you” ja keikan päättänyt Cock Sparrer versio ”Finland belongs to me”. Sparrerin kappaletta ei meinattu saada millään loppumaan, kun UT:n vokalisti piiskasi bändiä soittamaan kertosäettä aina vaan uudelleen. Kaikki hyvä loppuu kuitenkin aikanaan ja reilun tunnin kestäneen tulituksen jälkeen P.W.A. antoi tietä illan viimeiselle esiintyjälle.

Puolalaisen Obłędin (suom. Hulluus) piti esiintyä jo viime vuoden itsenäisyyspäivän pippaloissa, mutta estyi loppumetreillä pääsemästä paikalle. Tänä vuonna vahinko otettiin takaisin korkojen kera, sillä bändin körmyt halusivat näyttää yleisölle, mistä on tehty brutaali puolalainen RAC. Oman keikka-arvion tapahtumasta kirjoittava Ukonvasama-lehden päätoimittaja kuvasi bändin tyyliä osuvasti sanomalla sen olevan ”rosoista ja metallista väkivaltarockia”. Jos minulta kysytään, niin juuri siltä yhteen soundi ja olemus näytti ja kuulosti, ei vähempää ei enempää.  

Triona toimiva Obłęd pystyi taitavasti luomaan isomman soundin kuin kompakti kokoonpano antoi ymmärtää. Show alkoi kuin nyrkillä silmään bändin ladatessa eetteriin kontrolloimattoman katutaistelijan ohjelmajulistuksen ”Obłęd”, joka sai väen välittömästi liikkeelle. Ensimmäisen albumin Powrót Na Front materiaali näytti muutoinkin kolahtavan parhaiten yleisöön, jopa niin että kappaleen ”Antifa” aikana pitissä nujakointi alkoi mennä jo todellisen väkivallan puolelle. Bändin laulaja-basisti Kadi rauhoitti kuitenkin nopeasti tilanteen ja keikka jatkui ”white unity!” huutojen vain raikuessa.

Lukuisia katutaisteluja kokeneet uurteiset puolalaisäijät eivät leiki, mikä näkyi armottomana lavaolemuksena. Tylystä meiningistä huolimatta bändin nokkamies Kadi osasi välillä myös irrotella ja keventää tunnelmaa välispiikkauksillaan. Tunnin kestäneeseen tiukasti pakattuun settiin mahtui myös pari coveria kuten puolaksi laulettu Böhse Onkelzin kappale ”Auf gute Freunde”. Tutuin lainabiisi oli todennäköisesti Konkwista 88:n balladi ”White Honour, White Pride”, ainakin sen perusteella minkälaisen vastaanoton se sai katsojissa. Biisivalinta ei sinänsä ollut yllätys, sillä yhtyeen kitaristi Czerwony on soittanut aiemmin jo hajonneessa Konkwista 88:ssa. Keikka päättyi yhtä nopeasti kuin oli alkanutkin yleisön jäädessä turhaan odottelemaan encoreja.

Runsaslukuinen ja järjestelyiltään nappiin mennyt tapahtuma todisti jälleen kerran, että omaehtoinen valkoinen kulttuuri on voimissaan. Kaikki oli tehty D-I-Y hengessä, mutta ammattimaisesti. Koska homma pelaa, kenenkään ei tarvitse ihmetellä, miksi tällaiset rock-konsertit vetävät porukkaa toisin kuin bulkkimusan runsaudenpulasta kärsivät kaupunkikeskustojen rock-luolat 7 euron hipsterioluineen.

GOATMOON & VAPAUDENRISTI 8.10.2016 Helsinki

Jälleen kerran oli luvassa livekeikkaa Malmin kuumimmassa pizzeriassa.  Ts. “NSBM-yökerhossa”, kuten huumoriveikot tapaa sanoa. Tällä kertaa  järjestänä ei ollut Malmin Sitoutumattomat Sikailijat, vaan Goatmoonin  primus motor BlackGoat itse. Keikassa ei ollut mitään erityistä teemaa  tai poliittista virettä. Kyse oli puhtaasti halusta järjestää omaan  kantabaariin livekeikka. Yleisöä oli saapunut paikalle katsomaan hieman  reilut sata, mikä oli mainiosti tälle illalle, ottaen huomioon että molemmat bändit olivat viimeksi edellisenä päivänä Etelä-Suomessa keikalla!

VAPAUDENRISTI aloitti hieman klo 20 jälkeen soittamaan. Kyseessä oli nyt täyden bändin setti, edellisillan akustiseen vetoon nähden. Ennakkoon oli luvattu setin sisältävän biisejä mitä aiemmin ei ole soitettu, ja takuuvarmoja hittibiisejä jätettiin pois. Keikalla oli tarkoitus myös ajaa sisälle uusi live-rumpali. Uuden rumpalin soitto oli ehkä tulikasteesta johtuen sopivan ujoa ja käppäistä, että se toi sopivaa lisävivahdetta yhteissoittoon. Aikaisemmin soittamattomista biiseistä voisi mainita etenkin uusimman levyn vedon Hiipuva loiste, joka sanoituksilla summaa hyvin nykyistä poliittista ilmapiiriä ja hegemoniaa. Coveritarjontaa ei ollut erityisemmin, mutta Veriyhteys-kokoelmalta tuttu saksalaisen skiniörinäbändi Tonstörungin suomennettu versiointi Suomen SS-sankarit kuului keikan kohokohtiin. Keikan loppupuolella oli lyhyt uusinta edellisiltana jo tulleesta puheesta liittyen Eppu Torniaiseen ja viime vuoden heinäkuun kohukeikasta ja sen johdosta Epulle omistettu Pagan Skull-splitiltä Taistelusta taisteluun joka oli myös edellisiltana tullut jo akustisesti.

Soittokamojen vaihto ja GOATMOON pääsi aloittamaan noin puoli kymmenen aikaan illalla. Johtuen maskivärien unohtumisesta edelliselle keikkapaikalle, keikka vedettiin ilman niitä. Muuten keikkakuteisiin oli sonnustauduttu. Settilista sisälsi hyvinkin perinteisen kattauksen mitä aiemmilla keikoilla viimeaikoina on tarjottu. Harmiksi tulevan Stella Polaris-levyn materiaalia ei kuultu kuin Wolf Night-biisin muodossa. Viides täyspitkä odottaa julkaisuaan jossakin painatusteknisessä limbossa. Ainoa noteerauksen arvoinen muutos setissä on Eclipsed by Ravenwingsin paluu. Tämä oli hyvä perusveto ilman erikoisuuksia.

Soundit olivat molemmilla bändeillä erinomaiset. Tästä voisi monet bändit ottaa hieman oppia että laskeutuisivat alas jostain isojen klubien tekniikkapilvilinnoista ja egoboostauksesta takaisin maan tasalle. Kyse on kuitenkin lopulta hyvinkin perusasioista. Nyt kaksi yksinkertaista PA-kaappia joiden kautta laulut ja mikitetty basari. Kitarat pelkistä vahvistimista. Toimii.

Seuraavaksi underground black metallia on luvassa jo heti seuraavana perjantaina 14.10! Helsingin suunnilla ensimmäistä kertaa Suomessa saksalainen LEICHENZUG sekä venäläinen VELIMOR! Pakollisia keikkoja kelle tahansa itseään bm-koviksena pitävälle. 15.10 Lappeenrannassa yhden päivän festarit jossa mm. Leichenzug, Goatmoon ja monta muuta. Tammikuussa (14.01.2017) black metal-rintamalla luvassa ensimmäistä kertaa Suomeen saapuva ranskalainen SACRIFICIA MORTUORUM, kera Hornan ja Stormheitin.
