I’m sorry. I have to cancel doing this this year.

As of last month I found out that a family member of mine is terminally ill, so I just cannot bring myself to participate in such a laborious both mentally and physically event.

And… it is shameful to admit. But I have not been having an ounce of fun writing fics for this fandom in months. Perhaps since January. Just the thought of pushing past that and writing anything makes me ill to my stomach.

I am highly disappointed and ashamed that I cannot participate this year since I have been doing it the previous three, but the amount of stress it puts me under and that of which I already have is just… not worth it. Not when I know I won’t be having fun and when my family member can pass away at any moment.

I’m sorry.

EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT

One for All October will be an event in October dedicated to producing Yoichi-centric fics and art, hosted by McFaneLy and Katydid. This event will run between October 1st all the way through till Halloween!

Rules:

We will have an art and writing category. Anything focused on Yoichi qualifies. If an artwork, then he must be prominently featured. If a fic, then Yoichi must be one of the main characters.

You may submit as many entries as you’d like. However, you will only be eligible to win once in each category.

The minimum word count for a fic is 1,000 words. Drawings must be colored.

Fics should not have any explicit sexual content. For artwork, no extreme blood or gore and no nudity/pornography/NSFW. Mild gore is allowed.

To qualify, an entry must be posted by October 31, 2022, 11:59 AM EST.

Prizes:

First place in both art and writing will receive prizes from both of us: a half-body color artwork from McFaneLy and a fic of a minimum of 2,500 words from Katydid. We both will also be offering honorable mention prizes of sketches and snippets. One honorable mention will be given out randomly to ensure that everyone has a chance to win.

The number of prizes will depend on the number of entries we get. We will not do NSFW content and we reserve the right to ask for a different request.

Please use the hashtag #One for All October if you submit your entry on Tumblr or Archive of Our Own. Also, please @ both of us if you post on Tumblr or Discord. If you post elsewhere online, then you can message either of us with a link to your entry.

Hi!

I've been binging your fics on Ao3, and I just wanted to say I love them so much! Your brand of DfO is so good, I love how AfO "loves" Izuku in a very twisted, abusive and manipulative way. More as a property than as a human.

Your ideas are all so great! I cannot choose a favourite though I do absolutely adore both the one where Izuku got vaulted and mistake Katsuki/Dynamight for All Might, and the one where he was kidnapped and Aizawa only found him 10 years later.

You manage to set up so much in so little words! Even when the ending is open (like Friend-chan, or the murder mistery Ashes to Ashes) it's done in a very satisfying way!

That Evil Yoichi AU is 👀delightful, that outsider PoV on Aizawa being weird, love it.

[Character] noticing something wrong but no one accepting to listen to them!! Such a good trope when handled well, and you handle it masterfully.

So thank you! For sharing all those amazing works! And I'll be sure to keep an eye on the next ones from now on!

Society was not perfect; it was impatient and cruel and everything that Shigaraki Reito desired in the world.

And there was no better place to witness this than at the showcase gallery he currently was spectating.

Without any use of quirks, he could feel the tremors of the poor girl on display all the way down the hall, the way both her and her attendant nervously eyed him as he walked from one display to another. Reito couldn't fathom what they were thinking about him, after all, he was only observing her so-called masterpieces.

"It is as I thought," he spoke aloud, startling her from where she sat at the end of the gallery. "Your pieces are indistinguishable from the originals."

His speaking sparked the attendant to come to life, as they plastered a smile on their face stepping away from the girl towards him, "But of course, her quirk wouldn't have it any other way. Are you by chance looking to purchase one?"

--- Toshinori could tell that something was bothering his successor, and he wasn't sure how to approach the subject.

It was obvious in the way that he moved as he pulled the trash away from the beach. Sure, Midoriya was still putting a hundred and ten percent effort into doing it, but where before his face would be flooded with pure determination, now it was distant. Clearly, the boy was thinking about things other than hauling a broken vanity through the sand, even if he didn't pause or look away from it.

It almost threw Toshinori for a loop when he noticed, but up until then, Midoriya didn't let anything deter him from his training, even pushing himself further than what he had listed out in his training regiment.

He would have jumped to the idea that maybe Midoriya had had a bad day at school; Toshinori had grown up quirkless himself and knew how isolating it could be at times. But it couldn't have been that considering that the kid didn't even have school that day and he had seemed fine just the day prior.

It was entirely possible that something had happened outside of school, of course, but Toshinori really didn't want to jump to the conclusion that something had happened between Midoriya and his parents.

Well, he wouldn't find out what it was that was upsetting Midoriya just by speculating and it especially wasn't good for the boy to be handling potentially harmful objects being all distracted like that.
