âThe signs are clear, desu~ Seems like this place is in dire need of some more of me around!â
Hiatus Notice
Itâs not like Iâve been around much anyway, so I have decided to make this official. Recently Iâve been finding it hard to get motivation to write these days, especially since I started to lose interest in KC. It pains me to say it, but Iâll be putting Kongou on hold until further notice. If any of you need to come ask me any questions, or just to talk, you can find me at my personal blog @suzuka-gozenâ.
It was fun writing with everyone, and I appreciate the time you all spent putting up with me.
Just because Iâm away for long periods of time doesnât mean that my rules are to be ignored. Anyone who reblogs my roleplays other than the person Iâm interacting with are blocked. No exceptions.
Where are you
Iâve just been pretty busy these past few weeks. You know, with real life stuff and all that jazz.

There were many things that made Sealion as nervous as he was at the moment. The feeling of his superiors watching his every move, being in a strange place, he was already a sort of nervous and flighty individual. So much to the point he is sort of a living muscle cramp. He is simply here to do his job but he gets the feeling his officers wonât make it that easy. Â
âYou read my mindâŚbefore I even thought of it.â Sealion laughed a bit, getting out of his previous demeanor. As much as some things worry him, he tries his best to come over that. Its a new world, so he may as well try to put his best foot forward. âJust lead the way,â He added, absentmindedly fiddling with his neckerchief.
âThe food here is to die for, you know? Sometimes itâs Yamato that does the cooking, other times itâs Mamiya or Irako. They make the best food!â Kongou took the lead, headed straight for the dining hall.Â
âAs for your room, youâll be by yourself, since youâre a guy after all. I canât have any incidents happening while youâre here, you know? That would look bad on your permanent record, and I hate having to do paperwork, so I hope you would make it easier for the both of us and avoid any of that kind of stuff.â Kongou didnât specifically state what kind of incident she wanted him to avoid, but she was sure that he knew what she was talking about. Well, she hoped he knew what she was talking about.

âSomething tells me that they got an iron cage for meâŚYou shouldâve seen the color drain from the faces of my CO and XO when I got the orders to come here.â Sealion was not ready for the overly politically correct world, he was ready for this tour with Kongou to be escorted by a couple of Marine guards.
âI can change in a couple of minutes and Iâll be right back!â With that Sealion headed for the building, blowing his boatswains pipe and calling for his Damage Control fairies to start disassembling his rigging for storage. Coming back out minutes later with the speed of a freshly graduated recruit, now also more visible he was wearing the iconic USN dress blues.
âIâm back! Sorry to keep you waiting, where to next?â
âWell,â Kongou placed a hand over her stomach, âIâm pretty hungry! This should be a good time to show you the mess hall! The living quarters should be over there as well, so isnât that convenient?â Kongou didnât know why this boy was worrying so much. Maybe he was just getting the fresh assignment jitters? Kongou has definitely been in his place before, and in a similar way she too also only knew a little Japanese upon arriving here.

âWell given my security clearance, the USN SPEC-OPS community would tear me to pieces then comes the court marshal.âÂ
âSounds like the plot out of an Amazing Stories magazineâŚLoosing one of us seems unfortunately simple enough, but how long would it take for them to come back to us?â For all his know-how, Sealion only knew as much as the questions he asked. Right now the concept of his own existence as well as the battlecruiser before him was confusing enough. âBut yeah, we can only do as best a job we can to keep the numbers in our favor. Considering the first liners I have heard are all here, including yourself we should be fine.âÂ
âAs long as I donât get stuck on convoy duty again, would you believe all the demolition training I went through and my first 3 tours since I got back was escort duty!â
âIt doesnât take that long. As for the conversion process, now thatâs classified material,â Kongou changed her expression once again, putting on more of a neutral look this time. âOnly the assigned Admiral on base and a select few are to know how that process works. Donât sweat the details! Just know that it works.â
âAs for your assignment, Iâve already told you that you were going to have a probationary period until we get you up to speed. -Oh and this hereâs the armory, youâll be doing most of your weapon outfitting here.â It was about a minute walk from the bath house, located in its own separate building. It was the size of a large warehouse, complete with changing rooms for the girls. Basically there were just some sliding curtains for privacy, but thatâs all they needed really.

âWoahâŚyou clean up wellâŚâ Sealion said turning a slight blush, and lifted his dixie cup hat as the fast battleship came back out. Since he arrived nearly all of his premonitions of fighting alongside former enemies long since faded. Even Kongou he worried held a grudge but here she was now, showing him the way to the armory.Â
âSay umâŚmind getting me up to speed on our reason for being here? I never found out to much on theseâŚAbyssal?â
âAh yes, of course. The Abyssal Fleet, basically our more depressed and edgy counterparts. If shipgirls, or boy, for your case, are all rainbows, sunshine, and unicorns, then the Abyssals are all about despair, desolation, and everything not so nice.â
She then took a moment to think about it some more before saying anything else. âWeâve recently come across these discoveries, so what Iâm about to tell you isnât well known to the public yet... Weâre trying to keep this mostly in house, so I would appreciate it if you donât tell another soul.â
âRight, now then. Where to start?â Kongou wasnât exactly sure about how to approach this. She didnât want to overwhelm him all at once, but considering the content of his files, he was a pretty smart lad. â...As long as we exist, they too will exist. If we happen to sink in battle, we become one of them unfortunately, and vice versa. Simply put, our main mission is that we just have to defeat more of them than they can of us. Itâs easier said than done, but thatâs the only really effective way to get rid of them. That just gives you more incentive to do your best, donât you think?â

âY-yeah no problem, take all the time you need.â Sealion replied seeing just what damage he did, doing he what some jokingly called âmoderate damageâ where the most destruction was causing ones clothes to virtually explode. While she was inside, Sealion sat on his seabag contemplating just how much had changed, however he was mostly thankful Kongou was able tp put the past aside for the sake of the mission at hand. Hopefully if he crosses any other ships from his records the feeling is the same.Â
âHeh, hopefully her sisters are also just as acceptingâŚâ Sealion knew a bit more on each ship through his research, though he was always prepared for at least someone to hold a grudge which he wouldnât blame them.
Kongou took no time at all to clean herself up, quickly jumping into the bath and washing herself off as fast as she could. She dumped a green bucket over her head and dried herself off, watching the grime and bruising on her body disappear like magic. She didnât usually like wasting an instant repair bucket on herself, but since she was short on time she thought it wouldnât hurt to make an exception.
âAlright Iâm done!,â she popped out of the baths, as good as new, complete with a fresh set of clothes and everything. âI hope I didnât take too long.â
âAh! Itâs the munâs birthday... I should prepare a little surprise for later, desu.â
What is your opinion on a female admiral?
âGender is of no issue to me, desu.â
It be my birthday

âHeh, I think Iâll be able to handle it. Itâs interesting that Iâve seen in many other navies ships are notably younger than most USN ships, including myself.â Sealion observed seeing a flock of what he presumed to be destroyers pass him.
âI have heard quite a bit on your operations here, I am looking forward to being a part of it all.â Of course the male sailors he had the somewhat displeasure of bunking with would have had other ideas. Sealion wants to put any stereotype of a prowling wolf of a sailor to rest for good.Â
âAre we going to pass the armory on the way? I think it would be best to put my torpedo tubes away.â Sealion said turning red again recalling what he just did to the battleship, a noticeable blush and turned away for a moment.
âThe Armoryâs right by the Bath House actually,â it seemed like in just a few moments Kongouâs attitude flipped on a dime. Her clothes were still in tatters, yet that didnât keep her from going back to her usual positive self.
âYouâll have to give me a moment so I can take a bath and get a new set of clothes however. You wonât be able to get in there by yourself since itâs after hours, and I have the keys.â One of the perks of being designated the secretary ship, you pretty much have top level clearance to anything on base.
