📜 Message from the composer and creator of Sleepaway Camp: “Ya we should totally do something together!”. After being introduced through mutual friends at a staple open mic night back at Berklee College of Music, David Adams and Benjamin King started the musical collaboration that would eventually become Sleepaway Camp. Working together, they quickly realised that their different influences and tendencies complemented each other, creating a dreamy mix of guitar driven production that flows through atmospheric soundscapes. Their polished bedroom indie folk is true to form as they still record out of a bedroom maintaining a bit of that “raw” feeling. Drawing inspiration from the complexities and struggles of interpersonal relationships, Sleepaway Camp produces music with soft harmonies and melancholic vocals taking the listener on a journey of nostalgic introspection and self reflection.
