“Do you think I could… meet some of the ninken sometime?” If he made fun of her for the seemingly childish request, she’d throw a punch and move ahead without him, even if it put a dent in their teamwork. Maybe it was a slim chance given that they had just been introduced and she hadn’t been entirely receptive to the whole thing, but a friend of Hinata’s could be a friend of hers. Just maybe. If she got to befriend a few dogs beforehand.

“Ya wanna meet them?” Kiba asked, slightly surprised

While he loved the ninken, he knew they put some people on edge, from their large size to their playful nature, being around ninken was a lot, even for dog people

“Course ya can!” he said after a moment of silence, his grin threatening to split his face in two with how big it was, excited at the idea of someone else wanting to meet the ninken

“When the mission’s done, I’ll take ya to my compound ta meet a few”

Akamaru barked, wagging his tail, responding to Kiba’s mood

Hinata’ll tighten the straps on her backpack and inhale deeply. She hears Kiba approaching, but his footsteps and words are in her ears; Her mind is distracted by her feelings of nervousness about the mission at hand. She’d been on an S-rank mission before, but past experiences did nothing to calm her. What if she messed up? What if Kiba got hurt because of her? Or their fellow shinobi?

“Mm— What?” Her response is delayed; It took her several seconds to process his words. She pulls her distracted gaze away from the path ahead and towards her teammate. Hinata forces a smile. “O-Oh, mmm, yes, I’m ready.”

Despite her fears of hindering Kiba (or getting him hurt), it’s a relief to have his presence. He was a strong shinobi and they made a perfect team. That forced smile gradually turns into a genuine one, and she’ll express her happiness. “I’m really glad we’re doing this together, Kiba. I was nervous, but.. I feel better when I look at you.”

Kiba could tell she was nervous, from the forced smile she gave, to the slight stutter when she replied to him, and so, he plastered on a grin of his own, hoping to put her nerves at ease with his confidence

“Great, let’s head out!” he replied, tone cheerful as the pair began to walk towards their assigned location, where their fellow shinobi was last seen

At what she said, his grin morphed into an almost shy smile, light pink touching his cheeks at the compliment

“I’m glad we’re workin together, too, been too long” he said, “I missed ya”

Akamaru barked, and Kiba nodded “Akamaru says he missed ya, too”

After placing down the menu to look at the older male that asked if she live there made the preteen shake her head

“No, I-l live a little far from here as we don’t have shops that sells panties” Karin frown just thinking of her home knowing the villagers there was nowhere near nice to her like the ones she currently visiting in

"Oh, that's lame" Kiba said, before thumbing at his headband, the symbol there

"I'm from Konoha, and theres tons of shops there, all types of food and stuff" he grinned
