roommate!mike happily cheers when he finally hears the sound of your keys at the door.
“hi, mike!”
without saying a word, he helps you with your bags and greets you with a shy wave, unable to hide the huge smile on his face.
“i.. missed you, mike.” you said after the hug.
and then wheeler stared at you, his dark eyes shining and his eyebrows slightly furrowed. if he were a dog, his tail would definitely be wagging back and forth at the words that left your lips.

guitarist!mike is that classic cliché where he meets you at an event he’s playing at, and you’re the one responsible for filming and taking photos of the show and the venue.
guitarist!mike usually feels way too nervous to be the one who flirts first, but before he even realized it, he was talking more than usual after seeing you backstage. he kept his hands tucked into the pockets of his suit, his body leaning casually against a piece of furniture, always calm — and every now and then, he’d let a small smile slip, just enough for his dimples to show.
guitarist!mike would make sure to take your card, the one with your social media and contact info written on it. he’d say he liked the photos you took and that he’d love to hire you for future events — but the next morning, you’d wake up to a notification that was, to say the least, unexpected:

you didn’t imagine that, besides wanting to hire you again, he’d actually follow you on Instagram. but you also didn’t know that those weren’t his only intentions.
guitarist!mike now sends you dms pretty often and likes your posts too, always leaving a comment — even if it’s just a simple heart emoji — to show how much he admires your work. and you, of course, do the same.
guitarist!mike invites you out for coffee, saying he wants to talk about a future show. when you get there, he’s already waiting for you, sitting at a table for two, with a bouquet of lilies and a strawberry milkshake waiting just for you.
“funny, lilies are my favorite flowers, and i love strawberry milkshakes. looks like your talent isn’t just for the guitar… you’re pretty good at guessing too.” you joke with a smile, giving him a hug as a greeting.
a hug he made sure to squeeze tightly. His hands didn’t rest on your back, but a little above your hips.
“ ‘m not good at guessing, but i’m good at checking your profile every day.”
and all afternoon, you two talked about all sorts of things besides the show he wanted to hire you for — it was almost like a date.
from then on, at every event and show, guitarist!mike made sure you were there, always flashing a huge smile at your camera whenever you pointed it at him. wheeler didn’t smile for the lens, he smiled for the person behind it.
guitarist!mike loves playing for you backstage while you two just chat.
guitarist!mike writes a song for you. he uses a video you took yourself of the first time he played it at a show to post on social media.
“it’s the first time i played ‘strawberry lilies,’ and soon it’ll be on streaming platforms. special song :)”
