A/N: This is my very first fanfiction based off of @whoajeon ‘s “Take me somewhere” posts and inspired by the short film “The Last” by Wong Fu Productions.
You found solace in many places, each of them holding a special meaning to you in different moments of your life. But you couldn’t deny that without seven particular people, these places that you hold on to dearly, that have each taken up space in your heart, wouldn’t mean as much as they do now.
With Seokjin, it was the garden.
You knew Seokjin for as long as you can remember. His family had moved in just across the street from your house. You could tell he was the same age as you, but since you were accustomed to being on your own, you didn’t really pay any more attention than acknowledging their presence in the neighborhood.
Your parents noticed that you were once again playing by yourself and suggested that you go welcome your new neighbors. As usual, you were more comfortable staying home and playing with your toys. But seeing as you were about to enter grade school soon, your parents encouraged you to play with him so that you would at least have one friend to keep you company. Much to your dismay, you decided to greet the new boy to make your parents happy.
And to your surprise, it didn’t take long until Seokjin and you became best friends. He was naturally friendly and didn’t hesitate to reach out to people. For once, you didn’t mind sharing your toys and going outside to be with your best friend across the street.
One day, you were both roleplaying characters in the living room, reading out loud the lines from a fairytale book that your parents had bought you. You were the princess and he was the prince. You read line:
“Take me somewhere that dances in shades of reds and pinks, where we can spend hours and never leave a field of youth.”
Instead of reading the next line of the book, he pauses before looking up at you. You raise your brows and ask him what’s wrong. He doesn’t say anything as he takes your hand and pulls you outside to the back of the house. You follow him without complaining, wondering what he could possibly want to show you. Once he opens the door, you are left speechless and gaping.
You found yourself surrounded by peonies, petunias and other flowers that you could not name. Just like in the book, there were shades of reds and pinks. But the garden was far more beautiful than anything you could’ve imagined.
“I immediately thought of the garden after you read that line.” he says, wide eyes and smiling, as if he had completely forgotten that there was a utopia just at the back of his house.
“It’s pretty, huh?“ he asks. “My mom really likes gardening. I’m glad we have all these flowers. They make the house livelier.” he tells you as he stares at each of the flowers surrounding you both.
“It’s beautiful.” you answer, completely in awe.
From there on, you both spent your time playing in the garden reading more books, playing pretend and making flower crowns with Seokjin’s mom’s permission to use some of the flowers of the garden, of course. You spent your entire childhood in that garden with him. It was blissful. At the end of the day, all you knew is that you wanted to keep coming to that garden with Seokjin by your side. But like every adult will tell you, your childhood passes in the blink of an eye.
As you grew older, you both grew out of picking flowers and pretending to make it rain with the garden hose and preferred having in depth conversations inside. You didn’t mind. It made you discover more sides of Seokjin than you knew. But a part of you would always be staring back at the peonies outside, swaying in the wind.
You still went to Seokjin’s house to be with him. As your feelings for him grew stronger everyday , you didn’t care where you were as long as he was beside you. As long as you could spend hours with him and never leave a field of youth. But that changed once you both entered middle school. Being the outgoing one, he easily made many friends whilst you were comfortable minding your own business. Despite you being reserved, he would still stay with you and it gave you hope. Hope that he would always come back to you at the end of the day.
Until he met Jiyoon.
She was his first love and they were both head over heels for each other. And you couldn’t be mad because you knew he genuinely loved her. Yet you couldn’t help but clutch at your chest in knowing that you were no longer the one he would take to the garden. No longer the one he would be spending hours with in a field of youth.
Suddenly, the flowers in the garden stopped making the house look livelier. Slowly, you drifted apart. You stopped going to his house. You didn’t see him as often anymore. You remained friends, but not like before. Not the way you wanted it to be.
You realized then that your childhood, the days of making flower crowns, playing pretend and innocence were over the moment he closed the door to the garden and you never went back outside.
With Yoongi, it was the city.
You met Yoongi, during your second year of high school. Both of you were in the same class and not very talkative. And you won’t lie. You were somewhat intimidated by him. Not because he was scary or anything. He simply had this aura emanating from him that made you think he’s aiming for something much bigger than you could imagine.
It was only after a group project where you were paired up with him that you found out how similar you both were. Same taste in music, fashion sense and your undenying love for the color black. You clicked and everyone noticed. Even the teachers would purposely drop hints and pair you up to create more chemistry between the two of you. And it worked.
At the end of your sophomore year, he had finally mustered up the courage to ask you out and you said yes.
Your relationship continued even after high school and you both went to the same university together. At first, you were hesitant when Yoongi had asked you to move out to the city with him. And he could see in your eyes that you were uncomfortable. You had never gone outside of your small hometown and never thought you’d have to. True, you were curious of what awaited you out there in the real world but the fear of not being able to make it always held you back.
He lifted your chin with one hand so that your eyes would meet his while the other held yours tightly. “I’ll be there for you.” he reassures you. So, you took a leap of faith and followed him.
You never expected to love the city so quickly seeing as you were used to finding peace and tranquility in the recesses of your room back home. When you weren’t busy writing essays or cramming information from textbooks into your head, Yoongi would take you out to the heart of the city to help you unwind. You were surprised at how he knew where to find the perfect spots to just relax and stare at the city lights, like the top of a roof where no one went or the balcony of an abandoned building.
Contrary to the garden where you would admire the flowers during the daytime, it was during the night when the city lights would shine the brightest and make you feel at home the most.
Yoongi was aspiring to be a music artist. A rapper to be exact and you were studying to become a photographer. He would write the deepest lyrics and compose the most beautiful melodies. He had even dedicated a song to you with the lyrics:
“Take me somewhere full of life and light, a place where we are surrounded by people but nobody knows our names.”
It was then that you promised yourself that you would support him in everything he does, no matter what. But you didn’t realize how hard it would actually be to keep that promise.
You both started to get immersed into your studies a little too much. There was no longer any time to go out and marvel at skyscrapers and cars passing by. When you wanted to see him, he would be busy working on his music in his studio and by the time he would come home, you would already be asleep with exhaustion taking over you. You both lived under the same roof but you couldn’t see each other any more than two hours.
You started wondering if there was any point of staying in that relationship. If there was still love between the two of you. Of course, you didn’t want to think that way because he was still special to you. You still wanted to be with him. To be the one to always encourage him to pursue his dreams.
He still had a place in your heart, but he no longer had it. His love was now solely for music.
When you broke it off, it was mutual. There was no hate or anger. Just the understanding that it wouldn’t work out in the end if you weren’t each other’s main focus.
“I do still love you and I wish you all the best, even if I’m not there beside you.” he says as he presses his lips against your forehead one last time. You nod without making eye contact because you knew it would just make things harder.
It took a while before you could move into a new apartment. You sat in the corner of the room, surrounded by boxes full of your belongings. You suddenly remembered how, in high school, you had always thought he was aiming for something bigger. And you were right. Music became the most important thing to Yoongi and you knew he was going to go to better places. Places where you could not follow.
Deciding you didn’t want to look at the view of the city any longer, you get up to pull the curtains as the darkness envelops your room, drowning out the sounds of cars and people with your thoughts and voiding it of all life and light that you thought you would find in him.
With Hoseok, it was a café.
You would see him often since he was the barista at your favorite coffee shop. And since you needed your daily fix, you became acquainted with each other in no time. You had seen his face on campus beforehand. When he wasn’t the barista giving you your everyday iced caffè americano, he was a b-boy with his dance crew at school. You assumed he wanted to become a choreographer. And you knew he would be a good one at that.
One evening, when finals were hitting you hard, you slumped on the table with your laptop lighting your face, momentarily blinding you. Seeing how exhausted you were, Hoseok came up to you with a warm americano, contrary to the cold one you’re used to order every morning. You were about to pay him back when he lifts up his hand. “Don’t worry, it’s on me. Besides, it looks like it’s going to be a rough night for you.” he tells you and you thank him.
You both end up talking until he has to close up the shop, completely ignoring your schoolwork. That night didn’t end up being so rough after all.
Even though you never had any classes together, you knew you would always find him at that café. Every time you went through the doors, he would always flash you a smile while mouthing “The usual, huh?”. He would even take the time to draw on your cup before you would notice and his kindness never ceased to make your heart slightly flutter. And when studies would force you to stay up late, you would end up being the last customer at the café and he would end up sitting down beside you, bringing you a cup of coffee to keep you going. Late night conversations and getting to know more about each other became an occurrence.
You took an interest in him. The way his smile would always brighten up your day, his passion for dancing and how you would never get bored of him because that was impossible. Every time you were with him, all you wanted to tell him was:
“Take me somewhere we can talk for hours, where the weather may change but you and I will stay the same.”
You knew that that somewhere was the café, and the weather always changed. But unfortunately, so did you.
It was after four months, one night, when the both of you were walking down an empty street on your way back home that you confessed to him. You had stopped abruptly in the middle of the street with your fists tightening and your eyes shut, not wanting to see his reaction. There was an unbearable pause before the words you wanted to hear the least came out of his mouth.
“I’m sorry.”
You opened your eyes, not even daring to look up at him. Your breathing was heavy and you were shaking. Tears were streaming down your face and you were barely able to mumble “I gotta go.” before running away and not looking back.
“Wait!” he begged. But you didn’t stop.
You were too ashamed to see him. You left messages unread and calls unanswered. At some point, you stopped receiving notifications. He thought that maybe you needed time and that if you still wanted to talk to him, it was better that you approach him first or else he might end up making things worse. But all he was met with was silence.
It went on for weeks until he finally understood that you didn’t want anything to do with him anymore. You now regret never answering him. Even if he didn’t return your feelings, it didn’t mean you had to push him away. Even if you didn’t deserve his love, he still deserved your friendship.
You never went back to that café, thinking it was for the better that you spare yourself the pain of being reminded of your one sided love.
You settled on another café near the campus but far from the one where Hoseok worked . You would still order the same iced caffè americano to keep you awake during lectures, but somehow the more you drank it, the more bitter the taste left in your mouth would become.
With Namjoon, it was at a park.
You had already known each other since your freshman year at university since he was classmates and best friends with Yoongi. You didn’t see him very often even while you were still in a relationship with Yoongi, and after you broke up, you distanced yourself from him and his friends, including Namjoon, so you could move on faster.
You didn’t think you would ever talk to Namjoon again until he came up to you while you were sitting on a bench, reading a book. He broke to you the news that Yoongi had left the university to become a trainee and was going to do online courses to finish his scholarship. You were overjoyed to hear that, but your expression said otherwise. After all, you broke up only over a year ago and it didn’t make you feel any better that you were still wondering about what to do with your life while he was already so far ahead on his way to success and doing what he loves most.
“Hey, I know we’ve never really been close but, do you mind if we see each other more often? You’re kind of one of the only people I know here.”
After Yoongi left, he didn’t really have any other friends left on campus. Sure, he knew many people, but they were simply acquaintances. Yoongi was his best friend, and now that he was gone, the closest person he had was you.
Although he felt somewhat embarrassed to say that, you let out a small laugh and he seemed surprised. You smile at him as you scoot over. You thought it wouldn’t hurt to have some company. Besides, you needed some after what happened with Hoseok not too long ago. He sits down beside you and flashes you a gentle smile that showed his dimples as the both of you catch up on everything after nearly a year of no contact.
You were in senior year of university and you were getting the hang of juggling your studies, social life and sleep. Okay. Maybe less on the sleeping part. And in terms of social life, you only had Namjoon as a friend. But to you, that was enough. So when you had free time, you would call him up so you could hang out and do something fun. You would show him pictures you took in your spare time and even some montages since you had started taking an interest in video editing as well. He was in awe of how good you were at that and never ceased to compliment you. He would make you listen to his songs and ask for your opinion on them. As he was impressed by your work, you were equally speechless at his. Not only was he talented, but he was also smart.
You were looking for a place to take pictures for a class project and asked Namjoon if he knew anywhere in particular that would be nice. He leads you to a place where you didn’t expect to go.
A park.
He tells you that it was his favorite spot to think and just forget about everything. And that you were the first person to accompany him since he had always preferred to go alone. You were flattered that he chose you to show his favorite place in the world and that day, you definitely felt that you could put your trust in Namjoon and he would always be there for you.
You were able to take beautiful picures for your project but wasn’t your last visit to the park. You went back every time you could with Namjoon, whether it was to fool around in the jungle gym and play like you were children once more or to admire the ones that surrounded you while you sat on the swings and talked about your troubles and dreams.
One time, while writing lyrics for a new song, he asked you to write the lyrics for the bridge. You were flattered by his request and thought hard about it. You’re suddenly taken back in time when Yoongi had written a song for you, inspired by your love for the city. So you decided to change the words and dedicate them to Namjoon:
“Take me somewhere we can spend hours, watching the world move around ours in sweet serendipity.”
At that sentence, he looks at you as if you had found the most perfect lyric to complete his song and the corners of his mouth come up to form a smile while he writes down the words on the piece of paper.
If anyone were to ask you if you would always have Namjoon’s back, you knew without a doubt that you would. And the same could be said for Namjoon if he had yours. Except one wanted more than the other.
It was near the end of the year, when exams were making you restless and you were on the verge of giving up when he tried to reassure you that you would make it. And then these words came out:
“I’m here and I’ll always be here… because I love you.”
Taken aback by his confession, you look up at him with wide eyes, unable to say anything. He immediately recognizes the look on your face and decides to leave before you could say anything.
All you remember is him apologizing as he went out the door with tears streaming down his face. You were never able to give him a proper answer with studies and exams taking all of your time. Even during graduation, you tried to look for him. But found nothing. Not even his belongings in his dorm. You learn from his roommate that he moved out right after receiving his diploma to become a trainee like Yoongi.
As you sat on the swing late in the afternoon, you realize it was the first time that you broke someone’s heart and not the other way around. After Seokjin and Hoseok, you were used to being the one in pain in the end. But this time was different. You didn’t do anything wrong. He loved you, but you didn’t love him back. So why did it feel as if you had just broken up with him? As if you had just lost someone precious to you?
Because you had. You felt guilty being happy while knowing that you caused someone pain. And not just anyone. Your best friend. And there was nothing you could do about it.
You stayed there until the sun set as you looked at the swing next to yours, hoping you would find the shadow of a certain person that would never come back.
With Jimin, it was the shore.
You had decided to move to Busan, in hopes of having a fresh new start. Forgetting the heartbreak and pain made in your hometown and the city. You found a job at an agency where you were able to work as a photographer for a living, which was one of the things you always wanted.
Jimin was one of your colleagues. He was more in the video editing department, but that didn’t stop him from sending you paper airplanes made out of sticky notes since his desk was just in front of yours since your first day at work. At first, you decided to ignore him, not even bothering to give him a glance. Until he stuck a sticky note unto your computer instead of sending another paper airplane.
“Have you ever tried opening the paper airplanes to see if there was anything inside?” was written on it.
You look at him with your brows quirked as he just wiggled his. You sigh as you bend down to open a drawer filled with all of the paper airplanes he had made. The only reason you kept them was because you wanted to recycle them and getting up every five minutes to put every single one in the recyclable bin was a pain. There were roughly about thirty of them. You take one and open it only to find that there was a date written on it. You realize that you had to piece every single one of them to read whatever he had to tell you.
It took you an hour to finally finish putting everything together. You scoffed at just how far he could go just to get your attention. You get up from your seat just before Jimin could clock out from work. He jumps back seeing as you had practically leaped out of nowhere. He stares at you questioningly until you answer:
“You know, Jimin, if you wanted to ask me out, you could’ve just said so.” you smirked.
Neeldess to say, he almost pumped his fist in the air after you agreed to go on a date with him using paper airplanes as a plan. It really was unnecessary, but you thought it was cute. Besides, you couldn’t deny that you found his eye smile and crooked tooth adorable.
The first date escalated to a second one. Then a third. And it wasn’t until the seventh date, after taking you out to a cozy restaurant, that he decided to ask you to become his girlfriend. You answered him by kissing him on the lips. And with that, you officialized your newfound relationship with Jimin.
Although you had gone through many things in the past, this was only your second relationship. But you could feel it in you that this was going to be different.
After taking you everywhere he wanted for all of your dates, he asks you for once where you wanted to go. And knowing how cheesy he was and wanting to be surprised at the destination he had in mind, you reply:
“Take me somewhere warm with hues of orange and pink, where the world is caught in an endless summer.”
And since then, for every date, he would always take you to one place.
The shore.
Not that you minded. You had always loved watching the horizon where the sea and sky would separate. And you were comfortable just dipping your feet in the water while holding hands. He would take you there when there were few people around, so most of the time, it was just the two of you running on the white sand and laughing out loud.
You were both sitting down with your head on his shoulder when he speaks up and tells you the reason why he keeps bringing you to the shore.
“I want our relationship to be just like the sea in the horizon. Stretching out as far as possible. Never ending. That’s what I want for us.”
You can’t help but chuckle as you tell him how cheesy he was being, but deep inside, you wished for the same thing. He laughs as well and wraps his arms around you as you both stare at the sunset before you.
You wanted this to last forever. You hoped it would. But unfortunately, there was a dead end to it. One that you didn’t expect.
You’re left speechless and drop your head, looking at the ground after hearing what he had just said:
“They’re transferring me to another country.”
You couldn’t accept what was happening.”Not again.” you thought. Why was this happening all over again? Life was once again taking away your lover from you, just like with Yoongi.
You couldn’t contain the sobs as you wrapped your arms around his waist and he lowered his face in the crook of your neck. Both of you cried for hours, knowing the inevitable breakup that was coming. You loved Jimin with all your heart, but you both knew that a long distance relationship would be too much to handle.
Still, you spent every single moment you could with him up until he went through the gates that would lead him to board the plane. That was the last time you saw his face.
You watched the sunset in the horizon at the shore. The wind blowing in your face and pushing your hair back. You think back at Jimin’s words when he told you why he kept bringing you to the shore. He had told you he wanted your relationship to go as far as possible. And unfortunately, this was as far as it could go.
In the end, the only thing that was far was him.
With Taehyung, it was the forest.
He was your next door neighbor. You met him after he had just moved in next to your apartment. He was the same age as you and he immediately greeted you with a boxy smile the first day you saw each other. You greeted him with a smile as well. You were going to offer to help him move the boxes full of his belongings but were too shy to do so. As embarrassing as it sounds, his looks caught you off guard. He was beautiful. Seeing as there was only a wall separating the two of you, you would see him pretty often. Being too shy to approach him, you went on with your normal and mundane life.
Every morning, you would go jogging. Your usual early morning routine before getting ready for work. You would always go down the same street, through that same park, pass beside the fountain and then make a “U” turn to go back home.
One morning, while you were running with your earphones on, listening to your music as loud as possible to drown out all the noise around you, you felt a nudge on your shoulder. You turn back to see your friendly neighbor, giving you a nod and waving.
“Hey, neighbor. I didn’t know you went jogging here.”
You tell him that you come here everyday, to which he replied that he was surprised that you had never crossed paths during your runs since he would also take the same path. You find out that he would go an hour later than you, which is why you would never see each other.
An idea pops into his head and he suggests out of the blue that you both be each other’s running buddies. You were a bit surprised at how open he was and willing to spend time everyday with a stranger. Sure, he was your neighbor, but you couldn’t say that you were close. The closest form of interaction you had with him was when the mailman gave you a package that was addressed to him but he wasn’t home to receive it and you gave it to him once he got home.
Other than that, you knew nothing about him. Besides, you were a reserved and introverted person whilst he looked more like an outgoing and extroverted person. Actually, it was obvious that he was extroverted. Like that one day, where he went out of his way, still in pajamas, just to pet a passerby’s dog.
But you chose to open up to him, thinking that there was no harm in spending a few hours everyday with him. Slowly your path would change and he would lead you deeper into a forest where you got lost at some point with him. But you weren’t afraid. Not as long as he was by your side.
You would spend so much time in the forest, marveling at how the light shone through the leaves that it made you late for work for the first time in your life. Not that anyone noticed, since you had always been punctual and hated being late in general. But that was the only time where you could say it was worth it.
You continued your routine every morning, changing your course completely to treading a path only in the forest, so that you could enjoy the silence and just bask in the moment of being free, of being with each other. You were thankful that your face would become slightly red after any physical exercise because that way it would mask how Taehyung would always make the blood rush up to your cheeks every time he smiled, every time he laughed, every time he was with you.
It took you by surprise one day when Taehyung messaged you before your usual run saying that he wasn’t feeling up to it that day. You decided not to worry too much and did the session on your own. But since you knew that he hated being alone, you stopped by his apartment after work to cheer him up and suggested the both of you go out for some fun. He flashed you that boxy smile that you loved the second he saw you after opening the door. He went along with where you were taking him.
You lead him to an amusement park where you found people laughing, taking pictures and making memories. You thought that place might help him let loose for a bit. But when you saw his face, your chest hurt for a second. He didn’t seem like he was having a lot of fun. So you ask if he wanted to go elsewhere. To which he replies:
“Take me somewhere without flashing cameras, where the earth makes it feel as if it is only you and I.”
You decide to take him to the only place you knew he would feel safe. The only place meant for the both of you.
The forest.
You both walk slowly through the darkness to make sure none of you accidentally get hurt or stumbled. But then he stopped walking. You turn back at him and see that he was looking at the ground. You hear a sound that makes you worry, that makes your chest constrict. Taehyung was crying.
“Taehyung, why are you crying?” you ask.
He doesn’t answer at first. You hear him mumbling “I’m sorry” multiple times.
“I don’t understand. What’s wro-”
“I’m dying.”
A few months had passed since that night. He explained to you that he had been sick. But this time, the tumor was far worse than before. And he was in his terminal stage.
You both spent nights sobbing in each other’s arms before deciding you didn’t want Taehyung’s last months to be spent mourning. That was supposed to be after the person had actually passed. So, you spent every moment you could with him, taking him to the forest as much as possible. Until he could barely even walk and you would be by his side even when he was in his hospital bed. Until he was too weak to get up. Until you got the call you knew would come but were dreading.
After Taehyung’s funeral, you didn’t even bother to stay a minute longer since you knew people weren’t going to offer you their condolences seeing as you had never actually been in a relationship with him. But deep down, you knew, that even though you never said it out loud, both of you felt the same.
You stare back at the forest long after the sun had set, starting to be enveloped by darkness. You choke back a sob in your throat, turning your back and never returned to the forest, somehow fearing that you would no longer find beauty in it without Taehyung to help you see it.
You slowly open your eyes, slightly groggy only to find him staring at you as if you were the most precious and delicate thing he had ever seen. He was resting his chin on his hand, his hair disheveled and going in different directions but not paying any attention to it as all of it was solely on your sleeping form. He whispers “Good morning.” as he bends down to push a bit of your hair back and kisses your forehead.
“Where do you want to go today?”
“Mmmmm… I don’t know.” you reply.
“Come on. We’ve been lazing around the house for the past few days. Don’t you want to go outside for a bit?” he asks.
You look up at him and pout, begging him with your best puppy dog eyes and he immediately understands that you had no intention off stepping outside today. Seeing as he wanted an answer with actual words and not facial expressions, you give him one that takes him by surprise and makes him raise his brows.
“Take me somewhere away from prying eyes, where we can be us with no worries and spend hours doing nothing.”
“What the heck does that even mean?” he laughs, making his eyes crinkle and revealing that bunny smile that you absolutely loved. You don’t mind that he doesn’t understand. You don’t explain to him what it meant because you knew.
All these years, all these experiences, these places and all the pain and heartbreak you went through made you realize in the end, the place you were most comfortable at was home. But suddenly, home was no longer a place. It was a person.
After meeting Jungkook, you found everything in him.
Like the garden, he was beautiful. When a flash of his smile would make your cheeks dust with shades of red and pink. Where every moment with him would make you feel as if you had never left that field of youth and hadn’t aged a single day. With him, that child-like innocence you once thought was gone forever was brought back to life.
Like the city, he was full of life and light. He was loud. But when things were too much to handle, his voice was the only thing that would drown out all the noise surrounding you. And even in a sea of people who don’t know your names, his was the only one you needed to know.
Like the café, he would never change. Even after an argument where you could barely make any sentence through all the screaming. Because at the end of the day, you loved each other too much to even bother remembering what you were arguing about. He would always be your lover. And that is where he would always be the same.
Like the park, you were happy just being with him and doing whatever. Staring at other people going about their lives while you are living in your own bubble with the one you love, your make believe fantasy that actually came to life and finding sweet serendipity in that world with him.
Like the shore, you knew that you would go farther with him than any other person in the world. But he would never be far from you. A look in his eyes would make you feel warmer than the hues of orange and pink of a sunset. Your love for each other was like the sea in the horizon. Never ending.
Like the forest, he would never cease to make you discover new things and remind you of the beauty of old ones. He grounded you when life would hit you hard and reassure you that no matter what, he would always be there. Like a plant sprouting from the ground, you knew you had a future with him.
“Just stay here with me.” you answer.
He looks at you lovingly. “Okay.” he says.
He smiles back at you and lays back on the bed, wrapping an arm around your waist and you nuzzle your head in his chest. You pull the sheets back over you before fatigue takes over you again. Your eyes begin to flutter shut and you fall back asleep in his arms with a smile.
No matter where he was or what destination he would have in mind, you would always follow.
Because home was wherever he was.
