First of all I looooove FN. And I’m so excited for you and your upcoming journey with your first original story 🫶🏻 But what I want to know … is ao3 curse real hahah? I’m afraid 🫣

😂 Naaaaah, I don’t think the curse applies to me at all.

You guys have got to know me by now. The longest pause I’ve ever taken between chapters is, what, two weeks? And that pause included a family death, eye surgery and the flu. Every fic I’ve started has been finished, and usually in record time.

Life has a habit of lobbing hand grenades at me on a fairly regular basis, but somehow I always end up dusting myself off, writing another 25-30k word chapter, and asking, “What’s next?” 😂 I think I’m just really good at taking hits and getting back up for more.

Forbidden Nectar isn’t going anywhere. I’m not stepping away because life forced me to or because I’m burnt out. I’m just finally at the point where I’m ready to expand my universe a little. And I’m still here. I have surprises planned for the fandom 😉

Fanfic gave me the courage I needed. Now it just gets to sit beside my original work instead of being the only thing on the shelf.

The way I just realized that Ellie is Apollo's daughter... and Apollo is Zeus's son and Athena's brother. So Zeus was literally trying to marry his daughter to his granddaughter? Aunt and niece together? That's the most Targaryen thing I've seen in a while.

And then there's Dina Eros, who's the daughter of Ares... who's also Zeus's son. So now we're talking about Zeus's granddaughter and great-granddaughter being destined to be together because of the Thread of Fate.

Greek mythology really said, "Family trees are just suggestions." It would be absolutely hilarious if Ellie started calling Zeus "Grandpa," only for Claire to immediately smack her upside the head just for saying it. 😂

I knew from day one that if I started following the actual Greek family tree too closely, we’d all end up needing therapy.

So I made a few executive decisions very early on. Dina’s father? Mysteriously absent. Apollo being Zeus’s son? …We simply weren’t going to bring that up.

Ever.

My version was never meant to be a one-to-one retelling anyway. In my universe Eros is a woman. Psyche is already half divine. Aphrodite isn’t the absolute bitch she is in the myths. Half the gods have had personality transplants. At some point I just looked at the mythology and said, “Nope.”

So yes… if you start tracing the family tree with a red string and a conspiracy board, things get very Targaryenie very quickly.

I was simply hoping nobody would notice until after I finished the story. 🤭

You are absolutely right! I’ve been emotionally attached to writing about these two idiots since May 2025, and going strong.

So yes, The Relic sequel is absolutely still happening. It’ll be fanfiction and it’ll be in the same style as the first one. The timeline just might be a little wonky. It’ll technically come after Forbidden Nectar, but not immediately after.

“But why, Trashy?”

Because before I go back to them, I have to do something I’ve been putting off for a bit now.

Writing something that’s just… mine.

(Though honestly, I’d argue all of my stories are mine. This one just won’t involve me borrowing two women from Naughty Dog and convincing everyone they’re soulmates in every conceivable universe. 😂)

So think of The Relic as my emotional support fanfic. It’ll be what I come back to in between original projects. Those two aren’t getting rid of me any more than I’m getting rid of them.

As for AO3… nope! As much as I adore that site, it’s built for fanfiction. This next chapter deserves its own little corner of the internet.

Which brings me to the part where I tell you just enough to make you curious without completely spoiling my own plans…

I’m building a place.

Somewhere the people who’ve been with me through The Relic, Back to The Start, Playing With Fire, At Close Range, Forbidden Nectar, and every other bit of emotional damage I’ve inflicted on you all can come with me, just in a new landing point.

It’ll feel familiar. I’ll still write chapter by chapter. You’ll still get to yell at me in the comments. My international readers will still be able to translate each chapter as it goes up, and you’ll all get to watch me figure this story out in real time.

The only difference is… instead of meeting the story once it’s finished, you’ll get to watch it become what it’s meant to be as the process goes. After everything you’ve given me as readers, it only feels fair to let you be part of that journey too.

Which, in my experience, usually means I’m doing exactly what I’m supposed to be doing.

Ok I love your works! I have a potential fic idea for you. So it’s Ellie and Dina having an established relationship, but then the apocalypse happens and Ellie is separated from everyone she loves. So it’s years of her finding her way throughout the apocalypse and having memories/flashbacks of Dina and Joel (all her loved ones). Then they reunite but like there’s more drama after (maybe Dina moved on or something) but they end up a relationship by the end.

I do actually really like the idea, but I’m going to have to give the same answer I always do. I don’t take fic suggestions or requests. I’ve explained why until I’m blue in the face (and I’m pretty sure there’s a post somewhere recent on my dash that gets into the why of it all), but at the end of the day my brain just doesn’t work that way.

That said, I will always be an ear for anyone who wants to write their own stories or bounce ideas around. I genuinely love seeing people create, and I love watching writers fall in love with their own ideas.

Right now, though, my focus is on finishing Forbidden Nectar and then finally giving my original stories the attention they’ve been patiently waiting for. I’m not going anywhere, and I’m definitely not leaving the fandom. I’m just finally ready to stretch my creative boundaries a little.

The relic is genuinely the best fic ive ever read

Babe, you have no idea how much I love hearing that!

The Relic has always felt like a bit of a niche story because I know sci-fi isn’t everyone’s thing. But the sci-fi was never the point. It was never meant to be a bunch of technobabble or some hand-wavey explanation for impossible things.

The Relic itself is almost another character. It learns. It reacts. It evolves. It loves in its own way. The science simply creates the impossible circumstances that bring these two women together.

Underneath all of that, it’s just a love story. Two people who never should have met somehow finding each other in a future neither of them should have had naturally. They spend the beginning of the story convinced they can’t stand each other, while this inexplicable pull keeps drawing them back together until they finally understand what they’re actually feeling.

It’s funny. It’s heartbreaking. It’s hopeful. It’s about grief, identity, family, sacrifice, and choosing love over fear. The sci-fi isn’t there to overshadow those things. It’s the vehicle that lets them exist.

I genuinely hope people who skipped it because they saw “sci-fi” might decide to give it a chance someday. It was such a joy to write, and it’s still one of the stories I’m proudest of. I also got to spend an entire fic writing two women who just happened to be wholly and completely my type, which certainly didn’t hurt. 🤭

Every time I hear "All I Want," it reminds me of Back to the Start, and it fills me with this mix of sadness and nostalgia. But then I remember that Ellie and Dina end up together, and it makes me smile.

In the latest chapter of FN, you keep emphasizing several times that they're using a toy without a strap.

Does that mean one with a strap might be coming soon?

As much as I'm loving these chapters, and even though this story has plenty of spice, it also has some of the sweetest and most human moments. Dina's "You're supposed to be mine," with tears in her eyes, still melts my heart. 🥺

P.S. Ellie is such a warrior, and it's the first time Dina loses control so quickly with her. Ufff...

Hahaha, I think this is mostly a terminology thing. 😄

Technically, yes, they’re using it without a strap… meaning the harness itself. These days, “strap” has kind of become shorthand for the entire setup, but the toy itself isn’t actually the strap. It’s the dildo. People just don’t really use that term as often anymore, so “strap” has become the umbrella term.

What they’re using is called a strapless strap-on, which is the toy itself that stays in place without needing the leather or fabric harness at all. If you’re not familiar with one… maybe Google it in an incognito tab. 😂

So no, I don’t currently have plans to introduce the full harness setup because, in this case, there isn’t really a need for one. The wording was just me trying to distinguish which type of toy they were using rather than teasing a future chapter.

And thank you so much for everything else you said. 🥹 Those comments honestly mean the world to me because, as much as Forbidden Nectar has plenty of spice, the emotional intimacy has always been the heart of the story.
