Ingrid on a Journey
The scrap from my latest project looks like an art piece in and of itself.
Pick my best knoll from the semester. This was tough, as I thoroughly enjoyed making each and every one of these. Great challenges!
I also liked my other gamer-related idea (managed to make a diagonal set work), however this one I could stare at for hours. I feel this has the best lighting, shadowing, BG texture, playful vibrancy, the play on size, and everything just lined up so nicely. Even the shapes within the shapes (buttons, switches and knobs) are practically bang on with regards to lining up.
Also, the theme. I love Super Mario far more than somebody my age should! Timeless, classic stuff that always finds a way to make me smile!
I really emphasized on making these knolls a challenge each and every week. I wanted to take risks. I went big, I went small, and all sorts of in-between. Some were winners, some not so much. Hey, learning new things!

Since I was asked a few times, I’ll pretend that there was a popular demand. Here’s a different angle of the 4 quadrant illusion photo from last week.

Lots of yellow lines I’d say.

I have always wanted to try and create one of these quadrant illusion photos. I’m pretty satisfied with this effort!

Speaking ill of others can leave permanent marks.
Green represents venom and poison. Blue represents the mood of the inflicted. Yellow marks may be difficult to see but are staining nonetheless. The skull is red from having had absorbed unpleasant remarks.
The human skull is interpreted with a technical drawing approach. Clean and sterile represents an untainted and innocent purity. The large white space is indicative that this skull is truly alone.
