she expects the visit. although her nightmares have tapered off since taking on the oracle, rachel still experiences prophetic dreams occasionally. she sees everything, hears everything, all the time, everywhere. usually, it’s all just nonsense until rachel takes the time to explore what it all means, but sometimes - sometimes, she gets a vision so clear it’s like she’s there. she knows that persephone is coming to camp, and she knows she needs to be in the cave of the oracle when she comes.

“ persephone. ” if it were anyone else, another god may smite them for the impudence of addressing them so informally, but rachel takes comfort in the knowledge that delphi protects her. that, and persephone is not one of the violent deities. “ to what do i owe the pleasure? ”

❁— IF ONE WERE TO GLANCE IN PERSEPHONE’S general direction, the concept of goddess of spring would most certainly not come to mind, and arguably neither would queen of the underworld. ( the latter no longer being her ‘ cross ’ to bear, since hades forsook her for maria diangelo, though she returns for her six months to spend in asphodel, with charon, cerberus, or her children. ) on earth now, entering the cave, persephone composes herself with chin length hair and a leather jacket with roses and pomegranates across the back, a green day t-shirt accompanied by a willowy skirt and boots, and all tied together by a pair of circular sunglasses. the goddess is casual, to say the least, and maintains such a disposition even as she is addressed informally.

“ YOU FORESAW MY APPEARANCE, JUST AS I had hoped, rachel, ” says the goddess, moving closer with an idle saunter. she pulls her sunglasses away. green eyes, brighter than fresh grass or tree leaves, meet the eyes of the oracle. “ it’s a bit damp in here, wouldn’t you say ? ? ? the matters I’m here for might go for a length, so would you be more comfortable elsewhere ? ? ? ”
