“Burning Branches”

Just Olruggio being protective of his Qifrey! If you know then you know. Please don’t look too closely at the seals because I’m horrible at creating new ones.

Started this back in December after a recent chapter in that month inspired me to create this piece. My friends and I were in a hotel room at a convention when I had started it lol crazy to think back and know my best friend won best in show as Qifrey that weekend. I was an extremely proud Olruggio that night lolll

I’m not sure on people’s opinions on Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance but it’s one of my favorites, if not my most favorite KH game ❤️ it’s one of the KH games I tried to complete as many things as possible. I loved the dream eaters so much. The SoRiku crumbs are lovely too lol

“A Prayer for Doves”

Sephiroth is such a tragic character. To me, he was a dove forced to become raven.

Here I wanted to show the doves as the humanity in Sephiroth. Fleeting as soon as an order to remove a threat is issued. Fierce, piercing eyes even in a place like a cathedral where it is supposed to be a safe haven.

“Trust”

First of all, words cannot describe how proud I am of Mikhail. He has fought and fought. In the end he made it to gold!! My best friend is a huge fan of Mikhail Shaidorov so this piece was made for them in mind and as support for Mikhail! What we were watching that last two batches of skaters and Mikhail was keeping his seat we were SCREAMING in joy!!! It’s just such an incredible win that was deserved and well fought for over a whole season. ❤️

“Gaining Ground”

Kévin Aymoz was the figure skater that truly brings me such joy to watch perform. My friend got me watching figure skating last year and I’m so glad they did so I could see Kévin and the others! He just always brings so much passionate into his skating and his bright smile and energy is one of the his endearing qualities that I love besides his skating.

I have this unfortunate timing of drawing figure skaters after a rough skate 😅 but if they ever see my work I always hope they are reminded that so many of us are rooting for them no matter how good or bad the result. We are all human, but seeing ice skaters get back up and continuing after a fall is just so powerful to me. They get up and finish the program and sometimes it’s a reminder to me that it’s okay to fail. Falling does not define you, it’s how you get back up and move forward that counts. You can be upset with what happened but keep going with what you love. ❤️

“Fly High”

Got really into ice skating and drew some of my favorite ice skaters! I still have so many I want to draw but this is my most recent post from my Insta.

Ilia Malinin’s Olympic Gala was such a powerful performance. You could really tell he pour so much of his heart into it and I like to think it was a good way for him to start his journey forward because it’s truly hard to get back up when you fall. Even so, getting back up can lead to many great things. You’re gonna do great, Ilia, you’ll be flying high soon again!

I drew Enkidu to lessen the stress this Christmas. It’s been honestly a rough time but I’m making it.

I hope everyone has at least someone or something that makes you happy. If it’s friends, lean on them and hold them close. If it’s your hobby, treat yourself and but that thing for your hobby. Watch or read that series you’ve been putting off. Buy that game you’ve been wanting to play for so long. Start that dream cosplay. Draw that art you’ve been too afraid to start. Tell your special people in your life you love them ❤️

This is a personal piece of mine! I grew up watching Naruto and my friend and I would eventually make fan OCs and our own AU. Maybe one day I finally feel confident making comics of these OCs but for now I need to study some more on comic making 😅

TikTok - Make Your Day

Something that came to mind with anti-censorship and the rise of so many calling for more censorship using the guise of “protecting the children.” I won’t be going into this deeply as this was just a passing thought.

There are many people, fandom or not, pushing for fanfic and art censorship. However, I think some are forgetting that taboo topics still include lgbtq+ content. For me lgbtq+ is a part of my normal life and I don’t see it as taboo but I get reminded when I visit home that lgbtq+ is still seen as taboo due to the Christian Churches teachings. Censorship will try to erase lgbtq+ topics. It’s never about protecting the children and more so protecting one groups ideals.

If you want community in fandom then a lot of people are going to need understand that you need to be kind to strangers in order to cultivate friendships.

Some friendships just quickly flourish but making friendships with others, a majority of the time, takes effort, understanding, and kindness. You cannot go into every interaction with accusations and only wanting to see the worst in others.

People don’t want you to have empathy because when you lack empathy you no longer put yourself in another’s situation.

That person is disabled? Not your problem. Until one day you yourself are disabled. No one empathizes with you. No one helps you.

Empathy for others is also empathy for yourself.

People are not meant to be mean. Don’t let people fool you into thinking kindness is weakness. We need to love each other more and stop falling for all this hate.

When people say love is stronger than hate it’s more true than you think.
