“ yea well you’re different kori. ” jason whines out lightly as he gives the other a look. “ you understand && aren’t so pushy about it. ” which was why it was a bit easier for him to warm up to the other. the way kori exerts out kindness && love no matter who it is, && how patient she is when dealing with stubborn people like jason. these traits were what broke down his walls && reluctantly accepting the tamaranean as his friend. stopping himself a bit, jason’s face morphs into one of concern as he quickly gives a scolding look at the other. “ kori! what did i say about stranger danger? what if they are poisoned? you can’t trust everybody when there is a multiverse crisis! ”

kori shook her head in amusement as she listened to the boy whine before answering, “well, when i first came to earth, i definitely did not understand it,” she mused before laughing loudly and brightly as she heard the other slightly panic for her well being, “you have never really said anything about it?” the tamaranean shrugged one shoulder up innocently, “but they were so nice and the things were so delicious!”

Dick knows his sudden return to everyone’s lives hasn’t exactly been easy to adjust to, especially considering they’d been forced to mourn him only to find out he wasn’t really dead. Still, he’s glad to be here, glad to be able to see all of them again - Kori included. “I’m.. about as well as I could be, all things considered.” He says with a soft chuckle, settling down beside her. “What about you? How are you holding up, Kori?”

“that’s good,” koriand’r nodded in understanding as she begun fiddling with one of the many bracelets decorating her wrist, “i am fine, just exploring around and staying wit jason until i find somewhere more permanent to stay.”

      “i think there’s a pool nearby,” luca nods after reading the question on koriand’r’s lips. “i didn’t really go often, i was always busy with school, but i… no school here,” she then mumbles to herself. after a pause, she looks back up at the other and offers a smile. “i’d love that.”

“is that a good or bad thing?” the tamaranean asked curiously before the bright smile appeared on her face. “awesome! we are going to have so much fun.”

the tamaranean was trying to adjust to having dick back into her life. a lot had changed in the past year, with kori being a part of a team with jason and roy, not too sure how to interact with the boy wonder again. offering a slight smile, kori noticed the other before speaking, “hey, i didn’t realise you had turned up here as well. how are you?”

“do you think there is a pool or a beach around here?” the tamaranean asked curiously as she looked at the other, “i miss being by the beach every day, being in the water. it is something i really want. do you want to go with me?”

“Oh it’s real pretty,” he laughed softly, “It makes me want to sleep, the rhythm of it’s pretty soothing.” Kid surprised himself by not lying about that one.  

“not just real pretty, beautiful,” she smiled brightly at the other with a nod of her head, “especially on a tin roof, you can heard the sound of it, hitting the metal. for me, it makes me want to go out in the rain.”

jason could only give a small shrug && awkward smile when asked about his past activities. instead he chooses to lean into the other’s touch more, almost skirting around the question asked of him. “ well, things. ” he replies out, one hand waving around dismissively. && the noirette stays silent a bit before crumbling under his own inability to fully lie to the tamaranean before him. “ like maybe punching half of the people here in fake york? ” he admits quickly, && he has the decency to look a tad guilty about it. “ to be fair, it was random strangers touching me && i didn’t like it. i just got here && suddenly people are just in my face every single day. && how about you? ”

kori’s grin brightened as she listened to jason go from being vague to telling her exactly what he had been doing, “jason,” she scolded gently, though she was not surprised how he had reacted to their new situation. laughing softly, she nodded her head in understanding, “some people do not understand space. i mean, i am just starting to learn that now but i still do it,” the tamaranean spoke honestly before responding, “a few people have brought me desserts.”

“Ugh, that rain.” Kid mumbled, rushing undercover and pulling his hood down, “Not as bad as that terrible storm a while ago though, hmm? Guess we should be grateful for that.” he laughed slightly

“i have always found something so beautiful about the rain,” kori spoke absentmindedly as she looked out at the rain from under the cover of the building.

jason gives a please grin and chuckles at the other’s word. “drama? oh man, did i ever tell you how i actually wanted to join the drama club in school if i didn’t – ” he paused slightly && his grin died on his face. ‘ die ’ hang in the air like a noose around his neck && the noirette could only swallow the word back. ( it tasted so bitter, almost like acid in his mouth ) “ if i wasn’t being so busy with things. ” he weakly corrects his sentence and the grin is back on his face – only this time, it isn’t as bright as the one before. “ anyways, of course i don’t mind. i will always welcome you with open arms kori. in no way would you ever ‘ cramp my style’. though i should probably remove some of the C4s i have installed in the walls. ” jason looks over with a fondness in his eyes as he leans down to give the tamaranean a soft kiss on the cheek. “ anyways lets go && get you settled. from what i’ve heard around on the street, we’ll be here for a long haul. ”

kori laughed gently as she listened to the male, allowing for them to talk about their life when they were young. frowning gently, she pressed a soft kiss on his cheek before squeezing jason’s shoulder gently, “thank you,” the tamaranean hummed gently, moving the conversation on to try and make the other male feel a little more comfortable in the conversation. pulling away, she blinked a few times before raising an eyebrow, “what have you been doing?” she laughed gently before patting jason gently on the cheek.

“i’ve got nothing to do – its not like it’d be a waste of time.” he said with a smile.

kori raised a singular eyebrow as she nodded her head, offering him back a smile, “lead the way.”

“it’s a little hard to explain, but theres a bakery around the corner – i’ll buy you one.”

“are you sure?” the woman asked curiously, with a small smile, “i don’t want to take up your time.”

jason gives a small dismissive shrug before looking away temporarily, “ maybe. ” but he quickly looked back with a ( slightly forced ) smile, “ oh well, who cares about roy when we can just have fun together. ” ( he didn’t quite want to continue on talking about roy, he knows that the other isn’t here at all. he had searched && searched for nights straight on – && nothing. he could fine absolutely nothing. && perhaps it’s better that way )  at the accusation of him lying, he gave a rather dramatic mock look of hurt – even placing his other hand over his heart for some extra flair. “ me? lying to you kori? never princess! you know that! how could you accuse me of such a crime? i thought you loved me!! ” the noriette pouts and bring a hand to wipe away the non-existent tear as he huffs out his complain. “ well i manage to find a few of my safe houses here, so it’s not too bad. do you wanna crash over at my place? i’m making perogies for tonights dinner. ”

kori watched the boy cautiously, not saying anything about roy as she watched the way he reacted at the other male’s name. rolling her eyes softly, a slight smile appeared on her face as he pretended to be hurt by her  comments, “i think you went into the wrong profession. you should have gone into the acting thing,” the tamaranean pointed out before nodding her head, “of course. as well as you don’t mind and i am not, what is the word? cramping your style?”

jason gives a pitying look at kori before giving a soft && comforting pat on the other’s back. “ i’m sorry about your apartment, but if we ever do get back. you can use one of my safe houses until you find a new place. ” it the most that the noirette can do for his friend. jason tries to hid his disappointment at the answer given by kori ( && he should be happy that roy isn’t here. no one to use up all his money on stupid shit && junks ), instead he shrugs and jokes it off. “ good. finally i can get rid of him. i guess it’s going to be just you && me princess. we’ll have so much fun here! ” he slings his arm around kori’s shoulder and pulls her in tight. ( he isn’t doing it because the physical touch && the warmth from kori will sooth that lonely ache in his heart ) the noirette even wiggles his eyes a bit for that bit of a dramatic flare before pulling himself away, but keeping his arm there. “ anyways, do you have a place to live right now? ”

the tamaranean sighed as she felt jason try and comfort her but she had a feeling nothing she had in that apartment she could replace, “maybe roy has gone over there since we disappeared,” she suggested, trying to sound somewhat optimistic, “thank you, though.” kori gave a small smile before raising her eyebrow slightly at him, “why do i feel like you are lying to me?” she commented, allowing jason to bring her in close, “honestly, i have not thought of a place to stay. have you?”

      “white chocolate cookie,” tim answers as he watches with wide eyes as the biscuit is slowly devoured by the female, “and that was my last one.”

kori’s eyes widened as she looked down at the empty plate before looking back at tim, “i am so sorry!” the tamaranean spoke sincerely, eyebrows furrowed.

“bad day. bad month- actually. things are bad for just about everybody right now.” he smiles sadly, shrugs. “i’m winn-”

“you can’t let that get you down,” koriand’r nodded with a raise of one side of her mouth in a slight smile, “pleasure, winn. koriand’r but call me kori.”
