hey, tumblr user anonymous here, just so you know one of your friends wants to blow up the moon so you should probably cut her out of your life and stop supporting her. yes obviously there's evidence for this, we have screenshots where she says "a lot of people think that I want to blow up the moon but that's not true", so basically she's completely mask-off about it. so yeah if you don't stop associating with her I'll have no choice but to assume that you too want to blow up the moon and I'll have to inform everyone else you associate with so they know how dangerous you are. thanks!
the rule is that if an accusation is serious enough you're not allowed to deny it no matter how flimsy the evidence is. because like what if it's true and it just happens to be the case that none of the evidence we have for it actually supports the claim being made? then you'd be defending a Bad Person! do you really want to take that risk?
why go to the grocery store or to a restaurant when you can just get food delivered why go to the mall when you can get same day shipping on amazon why go to the library when you have kindle why make art when there’s ai why go to the cinema when you can stay at home and watch netflix. we are in a loneliness epidemic btw
the loneliness epidemic was invented by BIG SHIT to sell you more SHIT

on march 15, the largest protest in serbia’s history took place in the capital, with some estimates ranging between 800,000 and 1,000,000 people on the streets. however, there were incidents of organized attacks on demonstrators—people were trampled, hit with stones and firecrackers, and tear gas was deployed. the most extreme action by the police was the use of a sound cannon (LRAD), which triggered a stampede. dozens of people were injured.
serbian students have been protesting since november of last year, following the collapse of the novi sad train station canopy. for more context, please read these posts [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
i want to get a master's degree i want to take a cake decorating class i want to dance i want to sing i want to write and remember how to think i want to swim i want to be free
current ongoing joint protest made up of students and agricultural workers agains the serbian progressive party and it's corruption which lead to the death of 15 people in the novi sad train station collapse and which will lead to the ruination of serbian nature due to planned lithium mining. despite several attempts to block people from showing up (such as cancelling trains and busses) the slavija square and branching off streets are packed with angry protesters
Full names and details of every man who was convicted of raping Gisèle Pelicot. The list includes 50 men who could be identified, besides Gisèle's husband, ranging in age from 27 to 74. Among them are a firefighter, a journalist, a nurse, a construction worker, and a prison guard. Most have families of their own, and only about half had previous convictions.
as some people weren't familiar with this case, here is a summary of it. cw rape
Gisèle Pelicot is a 72 year old woman living in Mazan, France. She has 3 children and grandchildren. For a decade, she was systematically drugged and assaulted by her husband Dominique, who invited dozens of men to rape her while he filmed it. This was arranged primarily through a website, and was never reported
Gisèle found out after her husband was caught taking upskirt videos of women in a local supermarket. After the police searched the house and her husband's computer, they found the videos. She didn't recognise herself at first
Gisèle chose to waive the protection of anonymity that French law guarantees to victims of sexual assault because she believed the case would have a bigger reach with her name and story attached to it. Trial proceedings were made public at her request
Gisèle suffered several health issues as a consequence of the drugs and thought at one point she might have brain cancer. She also contracted multiple STDs.
Of the 72 men recorded by Gisèleʼs husband, 51 could be identified. One died of cancer awaiting trial; the other 50 were all convicted this week. Multiple other cases came to light during the investigation, including other rapes, hidden cameras, and possession of child pornography
This case has had a tremendous impact in France and, to a lesser extent, other European countries. It brought to the forefront conversations about rape culture, “unexpected” victims, “respectable” perpetrators and the culture of silence that surrounds sexual assault, and this case has had a tremendous impact in France. That's why I thought it was worth sharing here, and I encourage you to read up on it if you're not familiar, even if it's difficult to stomach.
Hello! I hate doing this but my rabbit needs surgery and while I can't afford the more extensive procedure, I'll try my best to pay for the more urgent one , it's about 3.5k~

Have you ever felt the pain of loss? Have you lost someone close to you, someone dear to your heart? Have you lost a family member? I hope you haven’t, but for my family and me, it’s our daily reality. Every single day, without exaggeration, we lose someone we love.
Last week, I lost my uncle, my mother’s brother. He was walking down the street, just like anyone else, when he was struck by a missile from a drone. And today, we lost more loved ones—my uncle and his son. They were sitting together in a home that had already been destroyed by the Zionist war machine. Not only was the house obliterated, but its residents were killed as well.
I don’t think this genocide will stop here. Even at this moment, more people continue to die. The number of martyrs has exceeded 50,000, not including those still trapped beneath the rubble. We might be the next names added to the list of the dead.
Please, I beg you, save what’s left of us. Don’t just scroll past this post. Share it, and if you can, donate. Every donation you make can save an entire family from death.

at some point we gotta acknowledge that getting the majority of your news and takes and general opinions from tumblr is not meaningfully different than getting it from tiktok even though on here it's in textual form. understanding the world through the lens of viral videos vs understanding it through breathless unsourced text posts written by dykeastarion69
#this is what made me switch to actually reading news sites regularly some years ago#(and when something's controversial or doesn't seem quite right I look up multiple news sources to try to get a fuller picture) (@thirddoctor)
A quick reminder that the Associated Press is totally free, and also often covers the news stories that Tumblr users say no one is covering. NPR is also free. So is ProPublica.
