On this day, 6 November 1903, Hilde Radusch was born. She was a German anti-fascist, feminist, lesbian, postal worker and communist activist. She was jailed by the Nazis in 1933, then released under the supervision of the Gestapo. They tried to arrest her again in the 1940s but she went underground and evaded capture until the end of the war. She eventually became disillusioned with the Communist Party after WWII, which led to her being expelled on grounds of her being a lesbian. Hi my name is Lotus and I’m a 23-year-old black/filipino trans woman who’s trying her best to get an education in the arts. 

i’m facing financial hardships because my job pays me fucking dust and I have to spend so much money on healthcare it’s not even funny. Every week I spend 40 dollars on therapy and at the moment I owe 130 dollars to my therapist’s office. I also have to pay to get a proper ADHD evaluation, to see my psychiatrist for my medication, and transportation to and from all of these appointments. Not to mention the costs of medically transitioning, which I can only assume will become even more difficult given our current political climate. I’m currently looking for other work and trying to see what kind of govt assistance I can get for my disability. On top of going to school it’s such a pain to have to make time for all of this and make payments on time as well, let alone perform basic self-care like feeding myself. I could really use the support right now. 

There are so many of you following this blog that If I got just a dollar from each of you I’d be set for months. So please please consider helping me out. If you can give big, great. If you can’t, I’m just as grateful. I’m working really hard to make good things for the world and I hope that you will support me on this journey. Thanks in advance

Don’t forget this part either. While the 1924 Immigration Act essentially cut off Jewish immigration to the U.S., further action by officials enforcing anti-immigrant law was a huge issue in the 1930s too. Being a refugee did not save you from deportation.

And the same thing is happening today with all the refugees from the west and south Asian, and Central and South American countries we’ve either destablized or aided in the destabilization of. We can’t let ICE and their minions deport these immigrants to be killed.
