Losing.
Signs of losing control of one's self:
Never updated Tumblr.
Ridiculously excited to see Oprah magazine's headlines.
Regularly buys Oprah's magazine when one is simply 26 years old.
Thinking that spa music leads to a path closer to God.
Find one self squatting in bookstore, facing shelf that says, "Self-Enrichment".
"We believe women are just as smart and capable as men and can achieve anything they want. But it also acknowledges that while work is important, men are, too. The Cosmo girl absolutely loves men," she once said about Cosmopolitan, the magazine which she built since 1960.
Helen described the "Cosmo girl" as a woman who "starts without much and who makes the most of what she has and keeps going". In a 2005 interview with the San Francisco Chronicle, Helen said the basis of Cosmo "has been and always will be about getting the best out of yourself, being the best you can be."
Helen first spoke the now very well-known phrase, "Good girls go to heaven, bad girls go everywhere."
RIP Helen Gurley Brown.
"But hey, we'll always have Paris." - Diane Keaton, in Something's Gotta Give
"She, she ain't real.
She ain't gonna love you like I will.
She's a stranger
You and I have history, don't you remember?"
- Adele, Rumor Has It
"Here's what you have to know. You've completely bewitched me, body and soul."
“I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.”
- Marilyn
Some people bring out the worst in you, others bring out the best, and then there are those remarkably rare, addictive ones who just bring out the most. Of everything. They make you feel so alive that you’d follow them straight into hell, just to keep getting your fix.
Karen Marie Moning
“My wants are simple: a job that I like and a guy whom I love.” ― Emily Giffin, Something Borrowed
“I’ll have what she’s having.”
Nora Ephron, in When Harry Met Sally
“Above all, be the heroine of your life, not the victim.”
― Nora Ephron
