i still haven't finished reading the vampire lestat. i'm currently on "the story of armand". one page in and i feel like throwing up. i need a minute. you're sick anne rice. 😭

Everything Lestat does is informed by his love for Louis and like I pointed out, Louis went straight to the heart and promised Lestat that he would be happy and never leave him, and that was all Lestat had ever wanted for Louis. So of course, no question, Claudia was turned when the alternative was Louis leaving him and being miserable and possibly becoming suicidal again. That was a low blow to Lestat, a heavy and unfair burden to put on Lestat's shoulders, and Louis knew it. He knew Lestat loved him and knew enough of Lestat's damaged spots to know where to aim to hit the wound needed for the intended result.

remember what lestat did to that opera singer whose voice a bit off (in lestat's ears) when he sang? he was so offended by that, imagine if he knows what louis said about his musical ability here. oh we know what you're trying to do louis.

On the book: yeah it’s already very dark and I don’t get people who want the show to be even darker. I’ve seen some very fucked up ideas. Anyway I know Sam will knock it out of the park whatever they do, do take care of yourself while reading.

yeah the first chapter of the book is already pretty dark and it hasn't even gotten to the part with magnus yet. we know that they changed the storyline in the show with him being kept in the tower for a week before magnus turned him—surrounded by corpses of magnus's victims who looked like him; whereas in the book, he only discovered those corpses after he became a vampire.

there was also a discourse in iwtvtwt yesterday about lestat and gabrielle's relationship. wether or not she actually sexually abused him, since the book never really mentioned it (maybe not directly, but if you read between the lines, it's there). and there's that scene in sdcc teaser where gabrielle clearly doing something to lestat. the show definitely gonna be darker than the book and i'm sure the actors gonna make us feel every emotions in it with their incredible performances. i can't wait to watch it.

it's funny to me that louis only stop meeting lestat and avoiding him after they had sex. he didn't run when he learned that lestat can read minds, talk to him telepathically, freeze time, and drank his blood, but he draw the line at gay sex? he invited lestat to his house, to meet his family—knowing lestat can do some unexplainable things—and still walk him home after he did something to paul, it was fine. but then that night happened and now it's a big problem because what if his family and everyone find out what he did with lestat??? he didn't care what lestat can do, but it terrifies him to know what he can do—which is having sex with a man.
