Opening Commissions: please help!
Wow, it’s been a really really long time since I’ve needed to do this! I’m going to call that a good thing! This time, it isn’t me who’s in a sticky situation, but my beloved Gali, whose source of income has been catastrophically impacted by tainted cat food, dealing a massive blow to her cat breeding business and setting her back thousands of dollars. This, coupled with finding out that her ex has been lying to her, sticking her with a foreclosed house and no car, is a devastating blow.
As I’m sure many many many of you know, Gali is a kind, supportive, and generous person—you certainly know this if you’ve been in dire straits, because she’s one of the most giving people I know, and has been doing commissions herself to try and bring lovely B to America from her terrible situation in Poland.
I am doing everything I can. I’ve given her my car, and I’m trying to pick up a second job because in the summertime, being a first-year teacher pays exactly nothing. However, living in Japan, I’m extremely limited in what I can do, and it breaks my heart not to be able to help her more. In the interim, and while we try and find out how to sue the bastards selling tainted food that has murdered her kittens, I’m asking for help!
1. Writing commissions! I am a professional author, and I’ll write whatever you want! I will write anything: homosexual, heterosexual, other, gen, fluff, smut, raunchy kinky porn, anything. For examples of my work, check out my AO3 page, as well as my tumblr fanfiction tag and my original fiction.
My fandoms that I’m comfortable writing for include: Tiger & Bunny, Pandora Hearts, Mother/Earthbound/Mother 3, The Twelve Kingdoms, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, No. 6, Ouran High School Host Club (anime only), Tokyo Babylon/X/1999, Princess Tutu, Final Fantasy VII, IX, X, XII, Kingdom Hearts, Tales of Vesperia, Doctor Who, BBC Sherlock, Battlestar Galactica, Star Wars, Les Miserables, Lord of the Rings, Mercedes Lackey, and Jim Butcher.
Pricing is $1 for a 100-word drabble, $10 for about 1000 words, and anything above that is negotiable. I take paypal at [email protected]
My turnaround time is quite fast! Expect 1-3 days for anything under 1000 words.
2. Donate! I don’t accept this for myself, but I have no shame when it comes to asking this for someone else. You can donate at my paypal [email protected], or directly to gali at [email protected] and I swear every cent will go directly to her living expenses and veterinary bills.
3. Buy something from our store! We have prints, novels, and anthologies for sale! We’re not just beggars, we like to sell things!
4. Editing! I am the editor for Red String Productions, as well as for independent anthologies and assorted other projects. I’m also an English teacher. Trust me, I know my way around other people’s writing. Commission me just for proofreading for mechanical errors, or to tweak your entire story around so it resonates on a more emotional level. I’m perfectly willing to work on purely mechanical things (cleaning up commas, grammar, spelling, syntax) or to give advice and coaching on plot, character, and world-building help. Pricing for that:
0-10 pages, $1/page
10-20 pages, $0.90/page
20-50 pages, $0.75/page
50-100 pages, $0.60/page
100+ pages, $0.50/page
This is something new I’m trying out. Basically, for $20 plus $5 shipping, I will go to the local convenience store and stuff a bag full of snacks or toys or whatever from Japan and send it to you!
I think that’s about it! Trust me, I’d love to do more, but I already sold all my belongings to get to Japan.
