ooc// So things really haven’t personally gone well for me for a while now and it’s kept me away from the computer, so I thought I’d take a semi hiatus just to see if things will settle down. But in the meantime, before I take it, I just thought about doing another starter call since I haven’t been getting replies (which is probably my fault, if that’s so I apologize!!). 

Basically, this will double as my starter call, so if anyone is interested, please leave a like! No cap this time. They’ll be short ones, but I’ll get them when I come back. If we have one you still want to continue, don’t worry about liking this.

 He knew it was a long-shot after what he’s said to Keith, but Lance felt he was ready to hear him out now. After all, he’s been living with the guy for a while now. Plus, the others he’s met from his Paladin team seem to know of Keith. So, it was worth a try, right? Crossing his arms across his chest, his head dropped as he thought of a way to show his commitment to this. Then light bulb lit up in his head and held up his pinky finger.

“How about I pinky promise you on it? I promise I’ll listen to what you say. And I’ll even add in the bonus of not butting in while you talk. Sounds like a killer deal to me.”

      『 ☆ 』  —   For a moment, Keith was at a loss for words. With empty promises being spewed out of the other’s mouth, it was a deal that would have been broken the moment he said something Lance didn’t like. He wanted to call him out on it, but he couldn’t. Not because he wanted to end the conversation nor was it because he was mad. It was just that it felt nice to hear him actually give him a shot. It made him happy. It made him smile.

“A pinky promise? Really, Lance?” He couldn’t help but laugh a little at the gesture. It was childish, but it came from a good place. Honestly, it was kind of cute. “We’re not kids any more.”

It all happened so fast, Nagisa honestly had a hard time comprehending the situation. He had finally made it to town, needing a break from being out for quite a while and wanting to sleep on a normal bed again.

That was until his distracting thoughts caused for the blue haired teen to run into another person, nearly causing Nagisa to fall due to his much smaller figure. Next thing he knew, he looked up and was being yelled at by the taller teen, causing him to flinch a bit at the loud tone of the other’s angered voice. It surprised him more when the dark haired person more or less apologized in a more quiet voice.

“It’s alright. Guess it’s partially my fault for being a bit distracted. I don’t really want to pry though, but I guess you can say it helped a bit with your troubling mood,” despite his odd choice in words for reassurance, Nagisa gave a small smile to the older teen, silently telling that the situation didn’t really bothered him all that much.

What else was there to say? Situations like this were just a bit more... complicated to deal with for him. With a smile like that, most could easily brush it off and walk away as if nothing happened, but with Keith,things were just not that simple. He was unsure of what to do. Most of his feelings were just a jumbled mess. 

Keith sighed, taking a moment to organize his feelings and consider what the stranger had to say to him. It wasn’t necessarily inaccurate, after all, the irritation he felt prior to their meeting had subsided, though a small part continued to remain. Having the ability to just let it all out in one try, even for a bit, felt good. But that was still no excuse for his actions. The stranger was nothing more than an innocent bystander being forced to deal with his attitude. If the other were with him, they would, without a doubt, scold him.

“I mean, I guess it helped a bit... But I shouldn’t take my problems out on other people..”

 This was absolutely crazy. Keith was speaking as though he knew him, which further sent Lance into a giant spiral of confusion. Without thinking much on the matter, he blurted the first thing that came to his mind.

“What the hell are you talking about!? I’m not pretending to not know you. I really don’t know you! What’s your problem anyways? Ever since I met you, you’ve been nothing but shitty to me!”

 Then it hit him. He knew he didn’t remember everything about his past and for some reason his entire body screamed at that memory’s importance. So, if Keith had met him in the past, Lance was all ears to listen on his side of things. Taking in a few deep breaths, he finally calmed down enough to rationalize his next words. It took a lot in him to put aside his pride for a minute to really talk to Keith.

“You know what? My memory about… my past… isn’t the best. I don’t remember a lot of things and… if you say you knew me, then… please tell me about it.”

       『 ☆ 』  —   Tell him about it, he says. As if that would be easy. What were the chances that he would even believe him if he said anything? He made it perfectly clear that he wasn’t willing to believe him from the start. Denying they ever met, even though the others could vouche for him, it honestly stung.

“Does it even matter, Lance? From the start, you’ve been calling me a liar. How do I know you’ll actually listen to what I have to say?”

 Really. He was just about to leave when Keith spouted that nonsense. Just what the hell was the mullet going on about? Blue hues narrowed at the other’s outburst as he blurted out one of his own.

“Dude, you’re totally messed up! How the hell could I have abandoned you when I’ve never even known about your existence before the thing at the apartment!?”

 Something about his own words pricked his heart, which made absolutely no sense. He was so confused, but his stubbornness prevented him from searching for the answers. Instead, he continued glaring daggers at Keith until he continued.

Suddenly everything was starting to pile up. The anger. The depression. The confusion... He just couldn’t think straight anymore. What was even happening? It was just so painful but he couldn’t even grasp the reason why. It hurt so much, but he couldn’t say that. It would have made the confusion worse.

“You know what? Just keep pretending I don’t exist! I don’t care... Leave. Forget all about me. I just don’t care anymore.”
