With the holidays here, thought this is worth sharing

This website is still here and some of the asks are heartbreaking. Like “Jamie wants a new pair of jeans because he’s never had new clothes before”. Or “Kayla wants a bag with her name on it for when she moves foster homes again.”

A lot of these kids ask for brand name clothing and it sounds pretentious but having one nice new fashionable piece of clothing means a lot when all your previous clothes have come out of black trash bags from charities.

Btw, you can filter wishes based on gender, age, price, etc to help you find the perfect wish for you. This charity is LGBTQ-affirming (unlike a lot of religion-based charities that are unfortunately homophobic), so you can even look for nonbinary kids to donate to.

Also, I would really encourage people to be open to granting wishes made by older foster kids (14+) or young adults who aged out of the system and still lack family support. They’re so often forgotten.

I want to take a moment to thank everyone who has helped me in supporting Aahed and his family 💕

It disgusts me every day to know we live in an age where the most powerful governments and the richest businessmen remain tactfully neutral and conviniently blind to on an ongoing humanitarian crisis that they could likely put a swift end to...

Yet at the same time, it warms my heart to know that when the government has failed us over and over and over again, that we the average internet users from all over the globe are coming together over social media, hearts full of anger and sympathy, to try and lend a hand however we can.

We may not hold as much power as our politicians, but we are many. And if every one of us does just a little and gives just a little, we can save lives.

Aahed reported gaining about $350 in donations since my last post, which is amazing! But they still need over a thousand dollars for him to get himself and his family somewhere safer.

We were forced to flee our place of residence in the north, and we spent the night on the street until — with great difficulty — we found a car to take us to the south at a heavy price. We carried with us fear, exhaustion, hunger, and suffering, yet still no real safety.

📌 Today, for the first time, a UN investigative committee has officially confirmed that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza. This is not just a report — it is a testimony to the death, displacement, and destruction we endure every single day.

We are living this genocide moment by moment… our lives are hanging by a thread.

‏We’re a family trying to get through some really tough times. My parents are in their 50s, and I have four siblings. One of my siblings is married and has a one-and-a-half-year-old child.

‏Recently, our world was turned upside down when we lost my sister Duaa in the war. She left behind three young kids, ages 12, 9, and 3.5. We’ve stepped in to care for them now, but it’s been incredibly hard.

‏The other day, the youngest, Anisa, asked me, “Why didn’t Mama take me with her to heaven?”
