why do you like namjoon so much?
Why I like Kim Namjoon? Wow, is there an end of reasons to like Namjoon even?
So I could go on for about a decade about everything I love about Kim Namjoon appearance wise, from his dimples to how tall he is or how much his pink hair suits him because honestly, there’s so so much more to Kim Namjoon, I can’t even begin.
As far as three years ago, he openly said that he supports the LGBTQ community. Even now, when Korea still considers being openly gay illegal, he wrote and composed ‘I Know’ which acknowledged males and females equally.
The way he sings. The fact that he’s a rapper and the rest of the band lightly teases him for his singing voice (in 2 Bangtan bombs) but he still does his absolute best to sing well, which anyone has to understand must have been fricking hard.
He isn’t afraid to try new things, especially if fashion. Even if people think it’s weird, Namjoon always goes out of his way to try new things with his clothes and appearance. There are times people say it’s feminine to wear chokers or wear pink, but he never lets that stop him from doing those things anyway. And #KimDaily.
He writes his own music. There are so many performers and bands in the industry that are just given music and lyrics ready made and all they do is perform them. Many of those performers don’t have what it takes to write their own music, or their own lyrics. Namjoon has written hundreds of songs on his own and he writes lyrics with other BTS members for their music too. That’s a talent only artists have, not just performers.
His mixtape. There’s nothing to do. It just goes to display how talented he is, how with or without his members, he still shines so bright and how much he works on his rap and developing his music and style. That mixtape told things he really wanted to say, how to not conform to society’s expectations, on self belief and hard work.
He’s smart and he reads. It sounds easy but not a lot of people do that, especially people with tight schedules and work to do all day. Finding time and knowing the importance of fitting in time to read even when members and schedules have tired him out is so amazing because he genuinely enjoys it and wants to improve on what he already knows and that’s fantastic. He said he actually read philosophy books for their HwaYaYeongHwa Era. This man literally taught himself English.
His rap talent. It’s pretty undeniable what a fantastic rapper Namjoon is. He started as an underground rapper, he worked with some of the best people in the rap industry and he’s had rap battles (rap duo) and rapped in groups with Supreme Boi (part of DaeNamHyuk) and Zico before they were even in bands. Kim Namjoon is a rap god. He isn’t in BTS for dance, visual or anything else as a side. He’s there because he’s hugely gifted as a rapper.
DanceMonster. I’m not saying that as a joke. Even Hoseok, Bangtan lead dancer, admits that the person whose improved their dance the most is Namjoon. And knowing how bad Namjoon usually is with dance, that’s a big deal. Do you know how fucking hard it is to dance hours on end, especially when you have to put extra effort because you’re not good at it? Namjoon even said in his English vlog that he wanted to quit BTS because of it but stayed on.
Representation. And that’s not just about LGBTQ. I’m talking representation of always thanking international fans, even on award shows, while still always being grateful to Korean fans because he wants everyone to know they’ve contributed to whatever BTS’ successes are. He speaks English so he can reach out to a larger crowd.
He is real with emotions. There’s no end to the tweets (and that’s just the part we, as fans, are exposed to) where you can tell he thinks too deeply about things, blames himself about the smallest things, cares way too much about everyone and everything and he values everyone so much. Even when he’s feeling down or frustrated, he always thanks ARMY and always knows he’ll get strong again and that is so, so important. He has very complex emotions and thoughts, and is often overwhelmed by the depth of them.
He’s such a good leader. He takes care of his member and cheers them on whenever they’re doing things and when Bang PD asked him if he picked a solo career over BTS he didn’t even hesitate before replying BTS.
He admits it freely if he isn’t good with something. He casually claims that he’s not of of the good looking members of BTS (lies), cooking, sports or that time he told Jackson from GOT7 that he isn’t any good at freestyle rapping.
He’s such a hard worker. The time he injured his hand and still signed for fans with that hurt hand, or stays up late to perfect dance or songs. He works hard on everything and that is so important. Even though his old rap friends and BTS member contestants left him one by one, and even though he didn’t know about his future or where he stood or what he was getting into, he pushed on and did what he loved and as a leader, helped get BTS to the international level they are today. He’s so humble too, like when a fan got a photocard of his, he felt the need to apologize like it was a bad thing and it broke my heart because he knows he’s not a popular member and that killed me, despite the fact that he works just as hard as everyone else.
His lyrics. Have you seen the lyrics of Awakening? Or PDD? How about Do You? Or any other song he’s written. He’s a fucking genius.
The person he is. He makes lots of mistakes but he always admits and apologizes for them, he is so open with how much he loves his parents and he’s always doing his best to be positive and to work hard.
DorkMon. He’s a cheesy, weird as fuck, awkward, destruction god who really needs help oh my gosh.
Because he’s Namjoon, he’s himself and he’s wonderful. Nothing will ever change that.
K-pop has given me motivation. Seeing stories like Suga’s where his parents disapproved of his idol path/career choice, and seeing how he made it so big, it really motivates me. I’m kinda like,“Wow, if he can do it, I can do it!”
i love when mamamoo interacts with other groups (mamavelvet and btomoo especially) but i want some blockmoo ( block b + mamamoo ) and mama7 ( got7 + mamamoo )
