love your art as always!! What is your secret to perfect proportions/perspective
Thank youu!! I don’t think I have “perfect” proportions but in saying that I do try my best to be as accurate as possible without going overboard.
As for how I do it, I give myself a very (VERY) rough guide of what my reference image looks like and go from there. For instance, this is all I had for my recent piece.
Sometimes if it’s really irritating me (and this is only with digital art) I’ll cave and put my reference image on another layer and give myself a rough guide from that, I tend to avoid that though cause I want to push myself to do it with no extra help if that makes sense!
My best advice if you’re struggling to get proportions or perspective correct after most of your piece is done and something feels off but you’re unable to Identify it, is to take a step back and give yourself a break. On multiple occasions I’ve found it helps for me to step away and come back to it at another time to work out what’s going wrong.
That’s about it, if I’m doing trad work I tend to measure proportions with my pencil and use it like a ruler!! This has all worked for me for years but it’s gotten easier the more I’ve worked. I still don’t think my work is perfect but I like that it’s not exact (:
This just in: Josh O’Connor broke my art block !
