How beautiful and devastating.
Red roses and red dresses? How typical of him.
Everything looked like they came out straight from a fairy tale; ready for a happy ever after.
Maybe it would really be a happy ever after.Ā But not for everyone, and certainly not for you.
As the piano sprang to life, every pair of eyes turned to take a look at the blushing bride in the pastry-like white dress.
The bride was the main star of the day. Every attention was on her, and not the red-clad bridesmaids nor the young, innocent flower girl.
How ironic, having this pure child doing the work while the groom himself still saw you as a child. Rather than you, sometimes even said groom acted like a child although being only two years older than you. Of course, you would never have it any other way. He was perfect in your eyes.
Your (e/c) orbs were lifted to find brown, doe-like eyes staring lovingly at your direction. But you knew better than that. It might be at yourĀ direction, but it wasnāt for you. After all, you werenāt the star of the event.
His loving eyes were reserved only forĀ her, the beautiful bride walking behind you.
Oh, how you wanted to run, to hide from all the pain of thorns growing in your heart.
But you couldnāt, you already promised that you would be there onĀ hisĀ happiest day.
The closer you were to the altar, the more the day didnāt seem real. But maybe it was because you couldnāt feel much.
Again, your (e/c) orbs lifted up, this time to find dark eyes looking at you worriedly. A small, bitter smile formed on your lips, trying to give out reassurance that never was.
Time and space didnāt seem to matter as the vows were exchanged, followed by claps and happy congratulations while you couldnāt comprehend anything. Had it already been that long since you arrived? Had your brother given the ring already? Had they already-
Before you even knew it, you were standing in another white and red room. Looking down, your body was wrapped in another beautiful red dress. The mood in the air was cheerful, yet you couldnāt bring yourself to feel it.Ā Why?
The answer was there right along.
A hand ruffling your carefully styled hair with aĀ big grin, calling out your name just like how a big brother would.
āHow do you like the wedding, (Name)?ā
āIt was beautiful. Congratulations, Jungkook-oppa. Thank you for inviting me, and making me your wifeās bridesmaid.ā
Wife. The word left a bitter taste in your mouth.
āOf course you have to come! Youāre practically my cute little sister already! After all, weāve known each other since we were mere kids! Well, you still are, right, Yoongi-hyung?ā Another grin surfaced.
Still a child. Something filled your heart at his words. What was it? Why did it feel hurt?
āDonāt mess my sisterās hair, Kook-ah.ā Dark orbs glanced at you worriedly.
Ah, yes. It filled your heart with nothingness.
āBut of course, I am always your little child sister, oppa.ā
āSee, youāre always adorable, (Name).ā
