I have this bad habit of naming creative works with lyrics or song titles, cause I have no imagination.

Anyways, I’ve found a perfect (working) title for one of my ATSV fic ideas.

“The Spectre” by Alan Walker

It fits perfectly with Miguel and the plot. I’m gonna focus on my other idea for now, but I’m hoping to get this idea out before BTSV too.

I came up with a new idea and now I wanna work on that one instead of the big one I’ve been planning.

I got bit by the Spiderverse fixation again. Well, I’ve been fixated since my Stranger Things fixation waned and now it’s just lucky timing with the new pics that got released.

Anyways,

I have just spent most of the day piecing together an ATSV CD/AU fic that I really wanna try writing. I’m honestly a little surprised no one has written this idea despite how often I see it brought up in arguments.

This would be my second attempt at writing a fic, so hopefully I don’t wuss out (well, actually I have several ideas written in my notes but this one I actually want to work on).

Just gotta rewatch the movie another 10 times and do a little more comic research to get it right. My main fear is getting the characterizations right and making sure to share the focus in order for it to work.

I’m gonna create my outline and then try to write a couple chapters. Let’s see if this actually happens!

I may be on the look out for a beta reader. Someone familiar with the comics of various Spiders, familiar with the movies, and open to potential slash (that last point is not a for sure thing, but I also don’t want to make anyone uncomfortable).

Y’know, it’s kinda funny thinking back on how we were all preparing to bear heavy losses come season 5. I think some of us were bracing ourselves to lose half the Party.

Now, in the wake of the finale, it’s funny thinking the biggest loss of a long-standing “character” goes to Steve’s Beemer.

Hell, even Ted Wheeler survived to the end!

Okay maybe I do want to share one little opinion, and I’m not gonna get too deep with it, I just have no one to express it to.

But I wish they had given Steve a little more depth canonically. Like, I love fanfic authors for this reason cause they can expand and explore characters further than what canon gives us.

Now seeing the finale, I wish they had matured Steve’s character a little bit more. I do love that he continues to care about kids and keeping close ties with his friends, but him being a sex ed teacher? And still dating faceless girls? I mean, I’m glad he didn’t wind up with anyone, but I was hoping the lesson would be him seeing he didn’t need that.

Coaching is a fantastic choice, being there to help kids and have fun to fill that older-brother/fatherly drive he has, but I personally also liked the headcanon of him becoming an officer or deputy alongside Hopper to fulfill that protector drive.

I hope ST fic writers stick around for a while longer cause there are so many ways this show could have gone, delving into characters better than we got.

Again, I am happy with the finale. I am glad we didn’t have to suffer major losses and there was hope for the future. But I’ll also be really happy to read how others take this lore and shift it or rearrange it so I can continue to love and live with these characters.

I’m kinda surprised with myself in that I never found any interest in the Steddie pairing for Stranger Things.

I’m basic.

Steve is absolutely my favorite character in that show.

Eddie? Eh, he was okay. He was cool while he was there, but I’m not sad that he’s gone. (I think I felt sadder with Chrissy’s death)

Tbh, I’d rather that Steve not be paired with anyone. I like his non-romantic relationships with the other characters. Iunno, I kinda feel like a romantic relationship would take away from those other connections.

I love reading fics of Steve with the party, and being adopted by Hopper and Joyce. I don’t need or want him to be with anyone romantically at this time.

If he survives the final season, then sure, I hope he does go on to see his dream come true. I’m not interested in seeing it, but he would definitely deserve it.
