When I was younger, I stressed about “finding an art style” like it was some big problem to solve. I thought not having one meant I was doing something wrong. But now that I do have a recognizable style, I realize it never was that serious. Style might become a byproduct of the artistic process, but even if it doesn’t, what really matters is enjoying the process and letting your work grow naturally. The joy of creating is what matters. Which, by the way, is just another reason AI art will never be real art.

Don’t get me wrong, my therianthropy shapes how I experience the world every day. But I get so wrapped up in life; my adult duties, work, projects, mental health, etc. that I forget that- oh yeah, I am just a dog. I’m meant to go outside. I’m meant to feel the sun, to nap, to run without reason. I forget that I’m supposed to live freely, instinctively. Not just survive, but be.
