Some users report Firefox scoffing CPU power

: You guessed it: looks like it's a so-called AI

Mozilla, in its finite wisdom, embedded LLM bots into recent versions of Firefox for the vitally-important purpose of… naming tab groups. Now, some users are noticing CPU and power usage spikes caused by a background process called Inference.

Ugh. Reminder again for Firefox users to visit your about:config page, search for the browser.ml.chat.enabled key, and set that to false:

If yours says true then double-click it until it reads false.

Doing that turns off the AI chatbot features in Firefox, but also the stupid new LLM tab-naming feature that's rolling out.

While you're at it, disable browser.ml.enable and extensions.ml.enabled as well in addition to the option above, which will hopefully take care of most machine-learning ("AI") features.

They're squeans I'm pretty sure! If they pop like that anyway. But the term for this kind of "symbol to refer to the general vibe of something in art" is called "Emanata" because it emanates from a person or object.

CTF-BP2-Concentrate takes place in a very neat looking building with a big weird curvy design. Surrounding the little island you're on are larger land masses with similar looking buildings on them.

There's also these horrifying little spike pits inside this otherwise pleasant building, so that's fun!

This reminded me of how pissed I was when I first got my current laptop and it had no disc drive. External disk drives exist so that wasn't the issue, but it pissed me off because it was a sign that people have caved so hard to abandoning physical media that computer manufactures view disc drives as non-essential now. This disturbing change also poses the risk of external disk drives becoming harder and harder to find. And I get smaller indie creators not having the resources to put out their music, games, etc on disk, but the big companies have no excuse other than it making it easier for them to screw people over more and more with DRM, subscription fees, delistings, etc.
