Normally, I’ve found that it’s just when family is together too long that they all want to find the quickest escape route. I haven’t had family in a while so I am looking forward to it.

Hardly. I’m actually quite the open book. I usually speak in novels, or so I’m told. Why does the idea of a black sheep entertain you so? *laughs* Either way I’m not your man for that either. That seems more like Jiyong these days. Oddly enough. Anyway, the name is Kris. Pleasure to meet you.

Of course they do. All I got yesterday was “Kis! Kis is gone!” -shakes her head in amusement- Hanuel will explode with happiness.

*smiles a little* Really now? They have no idea how good they make me feel; I’m always so wanted. *laughs* Alright then. We’ll go to the park and play games. It’s a bit cloudy out anyway so we’ll likely have the place to ourselves. A few playful illusions for Hanuel to chase after couldn’t hurt, right?

“I thought the purpose was to practice? Those were very minor, and you lost all colour in your complexion. You made yourself worse off than I was, stupid. Next time you want to ‘practice’ wait until I have blood packet at the ready for you.” She wouldn’t admit that it had scared her to see him like that, but the relief was evident in her features when his colour returned. She sits up, dismounting him and moving towards the nightstand where she has bandages kept, pulling one out and wrapping it round her wrist, tying it off. She looks over to him with a pointed gaze. “No more healing for today.”

“Well I can’t exactly practice often. No one is ever really hurt. From what I understand I never really used the ability before I lost my memory either. Which means I’m greatly inexperienced with it. But I have to start somewhere!” He sighed and sat up when she moved away from him. “Yeah, yeah. I won’t. It’s not as big of a deal as you make it out to be though. Promise. I would have stayed conscious at least.” He smirked at her.

His pale complexion worries her a bit more than just silly fretting, and she gets serious. She inspects his complexion, bringing the back of her hand to his forehead to feel his temperature. She knows something that’ll bring him back quick but she has no idea how he’ll feel about it. She does it anyway though, getting her dagger out and making a shallow cut on her wrist, flexing it back to get some of her blood running and pressing the small wound to his lips. “You’re going to be fine, drink up.”

Kris is surprised as the taste of blood invades past his lips and into his mouth. This is new. He’s not exactly supporting this whole thing but feels like he doesn’t have a choice and so he accepts some, but only a little, before he gently pulls her hand away. “What a waste,” he sighs and clicks his tongue. “You just defeated the whole purpose of me getting like this in the first place!” He gives her an amused look as the color comes back to his cheeks. “Silly.. I wasn’t dying.”

She’s enjoying the joking around, allowing it to distract her from the prior conversation, but then she feels a warmth in her hands and arms, her wounds healing up and closing as if they were never there to begin with. She gives him an incredulous look, letting go his hands to cup his cheeks, worry seeping into the expression. “Kris! You fucking idiot I told you not to! You’re so stupid, why do you have to be so stubborn?” She sighs harshly, leaning over to place a gentle kiss on his lips. “Shh, just close your eyes. Idiot.” She mumbles before placing another kiss, trying to distract him and soothe him.

He can’t help but chuckle at the way she worries over him. His eyes remain closed but his head is still spinning. The kisses are still a nice distraction though. “You tell me I need to practice but then bite my head off for practicing!” His face is pale now but he continues taking deep breaths. “I’ll be fine in a few minutes. It was just an energy drain. I’m not used to it. Apparently I never really healed people much, even before. Takes a lot out of me.” He sighs and opens his eyes again, and this time he can focus a little better, but it still seems like the woman above him is moving too much. “I wonder how long this lasts.. You very well may be stuck here all day.”

One moment she’s looking at his smug little face, the next she’s looking at his back, and it has her flailing, smacking his ass with both hands repeatedly. “Put me down you lunatic!!” She flops when she hits the mattress, eyes flaring at him. “My hands are fine without your funky fairy voodoo crap, especially since you just manhandled me. Count your lucky stars that you’re one of the few who can do that and live to tell the tale.” Without warning she smirks and wraps her legs around his middle, throwing him down on the mattress beside her. She sits on him, straddling his lap, looking down at him with a playful little smile before she takes his hands and laces her fingers with his. “Just because I’m.. letting you in and all that doesn’t mean you can just toss me around like a sac of potatoes and do whatever you want with me. That’s only in bed, you hear?”

“Funky fairy voodoo crap. I don’t think I’ve ever heard it called that before. I’m sure those who actually practice voodoo would be highly offended.” He grinned, but gasped when he was pulled down onto the bed. Before he really realized what was happening, he was underneath her. As their fingers laced, he gave her an impressed gaze before shrugging. “Technically? I manhandled you just to get you to the bed. I think it counts.” He smirked and then closed his eyes and squeezed her hands to focus. It took a few moments but the wounds started to heal, slowly but surely. His breaths were deep like he was trying to keep calm. Finally after she was healed he went limp. “That’s actually.. rather draining,” he admitted in a quiet mumble. His eyes opened and gazed around like he might be having difficulty focusing on things before they squeezed shut. “I made myself dizzy. Ah, yes. Brilliant. I did it though so I suppose that’s something to be proud of.”

Somehow she knew he’d stop her but it still frustrated her beyond belief. She becomes even more frustrated when he uses her logic against her, twisting it into his own logic, making too much sense, giving her no reason to run and hide anymore. It scares her, terrifies her even. He’s right though, about everything. Even that she wants him too, something she never thought she’d ever admit, even to herself, something she never thought would even happen. Her eyes gloss over with threatening tears because she’s emotional as all hell, still a scared little girl with a pair of wings to help her fly away from everything. She rips her wrist from his hold, yelling out and backing a step. “Why!? Why do you always do this? Why won’t you just let me go be the monster I was born to be? Why do you have to make such an effort and make me feel things? The last time I felt things like this it was destroyed because of what I do. Do you really think I want to do that again? Why are you so damn persistent!?” Without even thinking she steps close again, grabbing both his cheeks and yanking him down, kissing him full on. When she parts, finally parts, she keeps her hands on his cheeks, looking him in the eye. “You’re right, you’re always fucking right and I hate it.”

Kris figured that this would somehow lead to yelling, and not from his end. He signed up for it when he decided to reveal all these thoughts. He wasn’t expecting the hint of tears though. He also didn’t expect her response to go quite that way. The beginning seemed about right, with the whole action of tearing her arm away from him and putting some distance in between. Even calling herself a monster. But then she was holding his face and kissing him, and his arms were wrapping around her to hold her closer as he kissed back. When she pulled away and spoke to him, he couldn’t help but grin. “Do you really want me to answer all of those questions or will you be more satisfied if I just shut up and let you have this one?” He quirked a brow before stroking her hair back, tucking it behind her ear. “I mean I’m more than happy to let you have it. You can try to pick a fight, but I’m simply thrilled you’ve finally given in. Anyway, come on then!” He bends and throws her over his shoulder, walking into her room and then carefully dropping her onto her bed. “This gives me a chance to practice healing! Not exactly a common use since having to relearn all the abilities. No one is ever really hurt. Hands please?” He held his own out for her to take.

He was upset, which wasn’t surprising. How upset he was now, though, would pale in comparison to how upset he could be if she ended up dead again. Why wasn’t he afraid to be close to her? Why was he doing this to himself? She didn’t understand it. For someone so logical, this had to be the most illogical thing he could do. It made no sense. “I’m not ignoring you.” It technically wasn’t a lie, she had acknowledged him after all. She slowed her stride to a stop, turning to face him, that steely gaze of her’s fixed in her eyes. “I can’t ignore you. You’re the most persistent person I know and I don’t get it. I don’t get why you’re doing this to yourself.” The solid, harsh gaze of her’s cracks, a softness seeping into her expression. “We had sex but that doesn’t tie you down to me. It was a moment, a nice one. An escape from reality… But you don’t have to hold yourself to me because of it. You’re a logical person and I’m about the most illogical choice you could make. This ends in you getting hurt one way another. There’s no other option here. So…” She makes to turn and head into her room, wondering how far she’ll get before he stops her. 

“Not ignoring me? Alright. Fine. You spoke a few words to me but then you closed up and got stiff again and you expect that to be enough for me to get annoyed and leave you alone.” Kris spoke very calmly, but also in a very matter-of-fact tone. As she spoke however, he paused and seemed to take in her words. His expression made it clear he was thinking hard about them. Her softer expression only made his chest ache. He wanted to reach out and take her hand already for God’s sake. But he didn’t know how she would react. Then she turned to walk towards her room and he immediately took advantage of the moment to grab her wrist and pull her closer to him. “I don’t have to hold myself to you because of it, but I will. Despite you being an illogical choice, it’s a choice I’ve already made. So since you believe so certainly that I’ll get hurt one way or another? I’m choosing the option to keep you. You think I’d be crushed if you died. You’d be right. But at least I could say I had you. Not all this bullshit where I give up before trying and ‘get my heartbreak over with’ because you ended it before it started.” He shook his head at her, continuing to speak stubbornly. “You want logic? Yeah I’d be hurt if you ended this. But if you ended this and then died down the road anyway? That’s not going to stop the hurt. I’d still be a mess. So why the hell can’t I just enjoy time with you while I have it, if you’re so certain you’re going to die?” He pecked her forehead but then pulled away and gave her a serious look. “I’m not going to stop. I know this isn’t just on my end. You want it too. You just won’t admit it because you fear the pain it’ll cause. But I’ll be right here as soon as you decide to stop holding me at arm’s length.. Just let me in, Chaerin. Accept it. Stop fighting everything, stop trying to make literally everything a battle.”
