Having an obscure and unknown history blorbo that perhaps only 12 people on god's green earth have even heard of, and maybe one of them is on Tumblr (last posted in 2018)

OR

Having a moderately well known history blorbo with decent tag activity BUT people only know a narrow slice of their story and end up recycling the same five "facts"/misconceptions about them ad nauseum

today is very memorable because i just watched Private Vices,Public Pleasures

as an audience I actually think that there could be more elements added to better explore the film's themes in addition to half naked people dancing around and the mask metaphor sksjndka

BUT i really enjoyed how it adapted the mayerling thing in a somewhat deconstructed way(?)(idk if this is the right word to describe(?)) and i always believe that this story should be presented in a more morbid and cult-like(?) manner other than a normie BE love story. at least include some of the unhealthy facts sjwknsb. i mean this whole thing could be a perfect basis for a cult film(idk just my personal thought pls dont hate me if u don't agree

so im really overjoyed when i found that there is actually such a cult film where they adapted rudolf and i love the whole vibe

we also rewatched the movie today with @kronprinz-rudolf (been exactly two years since i first saw it kksksks), whose fault it is that i know about private vices in the first place 😊🫣😭

i feel like it's much less cursed than i remember, like you said the deconstruction is quite cool/interesting and at least rudolf gets to be happy for once in his life yayay. from my first watch i only remembered the hay and chicken scenes cos they're a meme to me skksks. and yeah it fr could be a cult film, @kronprinz-rudolf mentioned that the whole soundtrack kind of gives a nostalgic vibe to the film and i really agree!!

i'm afraid i could never watch this in a public cinema though because there really is tits/ass on screen every other second JSKSKS
